HYBRIDS ARE HERE

LITE BLOGGING TODAY: Rode in and drove a Lexus Hybrid SUV over the weekend. I was really surprised by the acceleration. It doesn't explode off a stop sign but it gets out there. Silent, which is weird, but other than that there is not much difference between it and a gas guzzler. Gas tank is half the size of a full sized and while you fill it the same number of times per week as you do a gas powered car you save 50% on fuel costs. No doubt in my mind any more that electric vehicles are the wave of the future here and now. We are less than five years away from telling Hugo Chavez and the rest of those pricks to fuck off.

My football picking continued apace: three out of four wrong. Colt game was fantastic. Bear game a shrug.

News Item: AFC playoff game has a monster 40% share. CBS elated. Have signed Katy Couric to do next year's game. An elated Couric, an admitted football expert, scheduled Knute Rockne for her first guest

When the original hand held calculators came out they cost more than $100...Today the same one costs $9.00 and less. First color TVs cost more than $1,000. The price will come down as demand rises...it's called capitalism.

If you live in hurricane alley
hybrids have a charm of their own. Now if only they came with a full sized fuel tank...
With Wilma my area was without power for nine days and the idiot state legislature overturned a local ordinance that gas stations, pharmacies and supermarkets had to have generators operative during such conditions. So as long as this continues, one never knows how far they will need to drive for food, fuel, medicines and ice. I'm getting the Lexis hybrid sedan as soon as my current lease expires.
