According to this in NRO Rumsfeld had it right from the very beginning. It was Tennet and Powell who totally fucked it up. Pistol tip to emailer Robert W.

Sometimes the ordinary people become great artists. I deleted this post because of gross errors. Sorry.

Michael Ledeen is at it again
Remember one of the early dicta of Machiavelli: If you are victorious, everyone will judge your methods to have been appropriate. If you lose, you're a bum.
Ledeen is blasting the "new" give ther Baathists power policy as a sell out and refers us to some Iraq blogs. Example one an Iraqi (Iraq at a glance)talking about the old line Baathist officers we are now putting in charge
they never give an ear to what the Iraqi people demand..those officers were killing the Iraqi soldiers everyday : ?give me 50000D and I?ll let you go back home for a week? ? I want you to buy ... for me and I?ll let you see your family for 3 days?,
Iraq the model has a dam good piece too
I hope that the fools who were asking us to carry Ak-47 and fight the terrorists are happy now. Some Iraqis have done that, and if nothing serious is done, others will sure join them.
Iraq etc. also lets us know what he thinks of the criminal UN coming back. Another blog called Hammorabi really sets into this scheme
Well there are two kinds of Baathists and two kinds of jobs. Those who are big members in the previous regime and some of the small members especially among the security forces are criminals in a way or another. They should not be allowed to come back until cleared by special courts. If PB and the CPA allowed it to happen without taking in consideration the victims of the mass graves and the other atrocities it will be a very big mistake which may add misery to the already miserable and very tense situation.
And that is just a taste of what he is saying and from INSIDE Iraq. On the other hand, Iraq & Iraqi's is far more optimistic due to the obvious (to him) progress. He comments about the goods available everywhere and the jobs. He says this about security
there is much difference between security situation in Baghdad and the other cities of Iraq. And it?s much better in the rest of Iraq. That?s what our friends and relatives in those cities are telling us.

And I am sure that the security situation in Iraq in general is better that many European and American cities,?? its just the people in Iraq are not familiar with such situation,
In other words from all concerned, the Media is telling everyone things are much worse than they are, including FOX.

duToit is right about holding people forever without charges. Even the Nazis were charged. Jessie James was not. Bush is wrong.

American Muslim march against terror draws fewer than 30 people. Daniel Pipes again reports. This pathetic state of affairs confirms a study done more than a year ago
* By a ratio of 67 to 33, Muslims in the United States think "America is immoral."
* About (the graph does not allow complete precision) 90 percent of Muslims favor universal health care.
* Fully 79 percent favor affirmative action for minorities.
* Asked about the job being done as president by George W. Bush, 85 percent of Muslims disapprove and a mere 4 percent approve.
Their virulent anti-Semitism is not covered. This old article can be found here. Like the man said, "Houston, we've got a problem."

FROM SOLDIER BLOGS
1. Contractors can no longer defend themselves
2. Iraq Now does a great job of pinning responsibility for the prisoner torture. A sergent in charge was a FULL TIME corrections officer in real life. This stinks

THE REALLY NEW REALLY HIP USO

I guess you file this under "Support Our Troops Ladies, But Don't Let Your Boyfriend Know." This is the purpose of the organization known as "Operation Take One For The Country", that seems to mean...well...spread your legs and take one for your country. Their mission statement is as follows
About US: 'Operation Take One For The Country' (abbreviated OTOFTC) is a movement of like-minded women (women predominantly as of right now) who have covertly organized into groups to frequent eating and drinking establishments near armed service bases where troops are preparing to ship out overseas, and take one for the country, so to speak. We are a virtual organization and have no official headquarters or charter. We believe US service men and women deserve our support and we are willing to make caring choices about making them happy.
Son of a bitch, will this be like the Colorado University sexual recruiting scandal? An emailer, Kim W., tells me her "mother??" grandmother told her of "Victory Girls" (AKA "V GIRLS") during WWII hanging out at Canteens etc. for the purpose of getting laid too. So I guess this is at least as old as the Battle of Troy. So stop picking on Ted Koppel, his grandmother was a "V" Girl If I had a TV show I'd read the names of all the old broads who got the clap screwing the soldiers during WWII.

Fellatio Friday for our troops in need? Army wives are in a quandry over this, but are generally supportive as long as they are the ones fellating. A terrific site called "An Army Wife Life" says it all. Worth a trip because there's a hell of a lot more there. She links to the "Hooker Support our Troops" site.

Pat Tillman, the Left's Designated "Dumb Jock" who graduated from college with a 3.8 GPA died as a private in the Rangers. Mudville Gazette has the rundown here. He was a hell of a man.

Daniel Pipes, as usual, makes a lot of sense

ACCOUNT WITH A MARINE POV. GET READY TO BE PISSED. WE ARE CLOSER TO VIET NAM THAN YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW

First, our guys have gone forward
and hidden in buildings for as long as three weeks waiting for the "insurgents" to move up. Read this great account in a San Diego paper that caters to Marine families. Jesus, this is what war is folks. There is a terrible thing happening there, namely the politicians have taken over the war and the Marines are beginning to blame Washington for all casualties. This is what happened in Viet Nam; the political assholes called the shots, and it won't be long before our troops develop attitudes of cold hatred toward the politicians who they will blame for the deaths of their friends.

This next is from a Camp Pendelton POV, spelling errors corrected, and I've added some things in parenthesis.:
Not long after dawn's crowing roosters were silenced by Fallujah's smothering heat Wednesday, the sounds of jihad once again filled the air. Monotonous, militaristic chants rang out in Arabic from mosques throughout the northern rebel-held neighborhoods, all praising Allah and urging residents to slay the American infidels in Fallujah's dusty streets. The calls for holy war did not go unheard by Marines around the city; nor were they unheeded by insurgents. Wednesday was another day of so-called cease-fire in Fallujah. Another day that rebels tried to kill Marines with rocket-propelled grenades and rifle fire. Another day that Marine snipers picked them off, helicopters mowed them down, and jets blew them up with 500-pound bombs. Still, the insurgents kept coming.

While most Marines say they want to move on the city and finish off the rebels they believe are trapped inside, they seem acutely aware that such a decision may no longer be in the hands of military leaders. Fallujah has become the focus of America's war in Iraq, they say. And what happens in the flat river town could paint a picture of America's future in Iraq. "Even the president is thinking about Fallujah right now," said Lt. James Vanzant, a spokesman for the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment.

The Marines of that Camp Pendleton-based battalion have fought some of the fiercest battles in Fallujah over nearly a month and have held their ground about a quarter mile inside the city for more than three weeks. Its leaders say they've been ready for weeks to finish off the rebel strongholds in the tough Jolan borough along the Euphrates River. "We would all love to go in and finish the job," Vanzant said, after answering reporters' questions about the latest Marines killed and wounded in Fallujah. "But it's political now. It's not our decision to make anymore. It's way above our heads."

Far from the advertised cease-fire ---- called to give peace a chance to penetrate the hatred on both sides ---- the deadly game of cat and mouse continued along the military cordon around the city. But in the murky gray of the cease-fire and the spotlight of mainstream media coverage, the violence remained confusing and the troops' day Wednesday was another one of uncertainty, danger and simple pleasures to pass the time. Some of their friends have died or lost limbs in some of the recent battles with rebels, and most of their days are spent fighting stupefying boredom and swatting sticky black flies, but the troops on the front seemed to have made the best of their lives on Fallujah's front lines.

Rules shift like sands----Around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, about 10 rebels attacked Marines from Fox Company in a former Iraqi Special Republican Guard compound on the northwest corner of town near the Euphrates. The Marines fought them off with machine guns and small arms until the rebels either died or broke contact. A couple of hours later, Marines in another position saw men running down nearby streets carrying AK-47 rifles. (Now get this shit) When snipers fired on them, commanders nearby questioned why they would shoot armed men in the streets of Fallujah. They were told to go review the "rules of engagement." The troops shrugged, relaxed and went back to searching for an enemy that they may ---- or may not ---- be allowed to shoot that day. (My experience: this is poison. We are this close to fucking ourselves) Now that Fallujah is a household name and the world seems to await the conflict's climax, the rules of war have such wide swings that Marines are free to bomb neighborhoods to oblivion one day, but are kept from shooting armed men running in the streets the next. It's a confusing, dangerous place, and young leaders say keeping busy is the key to staying alive and sane.

One more sandbag----Later that day, a long silence in a Marine-held home was broken by giddy laughter and rapid boot stomping on the stairs. Marines, all sweaty and smiling, rushed up to the bombed-out, second-level deck with full sandbags drooping from chiseled and tattooed forearms. Even in the soggy midday heat, they turned the drudgery of filling and hauling the heavy sandbags to their defenses into a boys' game ---- a simple competition and team effort full of laughing and taunting and encouragement. It was the kind of fraternal spirit that seems to push the Marines through the long slog of each day in the field, gets them through the dark valley of night, and helps them reach the peak of the next day together to face whatever comes next. "Laughing about it helps," said one Marine, panting after the climb. "It makes the time go by fast," another said with a sigh.

''It keeps the Marines on their toes," said Cpl. Peter Madrigal of the effort to bolster the troops' defenses on a rooftop where rebels have tried to land mortar rounds day after day. Madrigal, of Tucson, Ariz, was one of the young leaders who recently led Marines on a deadly ambush. On Wednesday, he led them in a boyish game. "We try to do something to improve things every day," he said as huge explosions sent mushroom smoke clouds climbing the sky in the east. "It helps us stay on top. We can't get complacent." On Wednesday, they had some rewards to look forward to after toil and stress: a rare hot meal and mail.

The televised offensive CNN (Communist News Network living up, or down, to its reputation)----While the daily violence along Fallujah's northern border has become the norm for the Marines here, it apparently was news to a film crew from CNN. A crew from the 24-hour cable news network arrived a couple of days ago with apparently little in the way of context to prepare them for what they would see, according to military officials. On Monday, they were on the scene to film much of an intense firefight in which a Marine was killed and American tanks brought a mosque minaret tumbling down.

GET THIS, ALL MEDIA GOT THIS WRONG And late Tuesday night, the crew captured the near-nightly visit from the Air Force AC-130 Spectre gunship as it blasted vehicles and buildings where suspected insurgents were hiding. Military officials Wednesday said the footage was played over and over during Tuesday's news reports in the states and was being billed as the much-ballyhooed "big offensive."

It was no such thing----Nearly every night, with the exception of a few quiet nights in the last week, any combination of three gunships that work around Fallujah rock the dark city with thunderous blasts. But the fury of "Slayer," as the gunships are known by the grateful troops on the ground, was apparently too much for prime-time audiences and politicians when it broadcast on international news ---- even though, in reality, it has made its presence known over Fallujah for weeks.

Military officials on Wednesday said the TV footage caused such a stir on Tuesday that even some international leaders were making statements condemning the offensive that never was. (So it's the opinion of others that's important, not winning, not the lives of our troops.)

The trouble with success----With time to contemplate during the bloody cease-fire, some military officials say they have started to rethink the Marines' aggressive posture in Fallujah and to ask themselves whether a military victory could end up a humanitarian and political disaster. "We could level the city and kill all the bad guys, but what then?" asked a key infantry officer. Others, from officers at the regimental level down to a lance corporal behind a machine gun, say they're sure they could take the town, but they question what an American military victory would mean.

They say Marines might find themselves finally controlling the rubble of a town they never really wanted, whose homeless residents could forever resent them for the death and destruction they've caused. It could inspire the next generation of insurgents, they say. Without at least the appearance of participation from an Iraqi force (just now changed), how would the new Iraqi security forces ever gain the legitimacy and moral authority they need to back a new government? Some of the trainers said earlier this week that they would need months to train the Iraqi forces to be able to fight alongside the Marines. (according to other reports, FOX, corrupt contractors are "training" the Iraqis and these contractors get paid by the day and are dragging out the "training")

Just dealing with day to day---And even if the situation in Fallujah resolves peacefully, "what's to stop them (insurgents) from coming back," said the infantry officer who did not want to be named. The officer agreed that even in a best-case scenario, the situation might just return to how it was when the Marines arrived in March ---- when they were only hit with the occasional mortar or roadside bomb. But for the guys on the ground, in the streets and on the rooftops of Fallujah who daily are fighting off rebel attacks and trying to stay somewhat in the deniable bounds of the cease-fire rules, politics seemed to mean little Wednesday. Marines from Fox Company ducked behind their doubled-up sandbag barriers when rebel mortar rounds crashed to the ground 100 yards away around sunset. They'd tweak and add to the defenses tomorrow, they said. First, let's get through the night.

Mail arrived, then hot chow. Then it was dark again and the second shift slept or read letters from home while the first shift donned helmets and flak vests and headed upstairs to their posts.

Rebels struck up the jihad tunes from local mosques and, at 9:45 p.m., the gunship "Slayer" arrived for its nightly rounds over Fallujah to enforce the cease-fire with cannon.
So there you have it: media lies and ignorance are now causing deaths. You cannot have guys killed and maimed over political decisions and media lies. This shit is closer to Viet Nam than any of us Right Wings care to know. Unless you've been there you cannot fathom the rage at the politicians that eventually takes hold.

Guess who is REALLY responsible for the Oil for Terror robbery? The good old U.S.A., this according to that kooky Kofi Anan in the Financial Times today. BLACKFIVE an outstanding site, if you haven't been there, has some detail. What I found interesting is that this icon of the Left Establishment would get a free ride if it weren't for the Right Wing Press and the web. Sample slobbering:
"When you read the reports, it looks as if the Saddam regime had nothing to do with it: [that] it was all the UN." But Mr Annan said there was "no way" the UN could have stopped illegal oil smuggling, which accounted for $5.7bn (€4.8bn, £3.2bn) of an estimated $10.1bn in illegal revenues acquired by the Iraq regime.

"We had no mandate to stop oil smuggling," Mr Annan said. "There was a maritime taskforce that was supposed to do that. They were driving the trucks through northern Iraq to Turkey. The US and the British had planes in the air. We were not there. Why is all this being dumped on the UN?"
It's a plot by George Bush and Tony Blair; you are being picked on because you are black; your son is being picked on because he is black; and the UN is a Holy Site. BTW be sure you read the letter from that colonel who escorted a body home that is on Blackfive too. Because Blackfive uses that pain in the ass MoveableType program to publish his site in tiny columns, the best way to read it is to transfer it to your word processor. BLACKFIVE also links to this site which is keeping a day to day record of this oil for food. Take a look, it seems like he's up to speed.

I just "knew" that when Ted Koppel announced that he was reading the names of all those U.S. Armed Forces members killed in Iraq it was a LEFt Wing Political stunt designed to build anger against the war and defeat President Bush. I just couldn't prove it. But good old Allah has done it. Partial
lah was greatly moved when he heard that Ted Koppel will be devoting an entire episode of "Nightline" to reading the names of American soldiers killed in Iraq. Do any of Allah's readers know if Ted did something similar for the troops killed in Afghanistan? Or in Mogadishu? Or when the mujahedeen blew up the Marine barracks in Lebanon, or when they killed 17 sailors in trying to sink the U.S.S. Cole? Or after Gulf War I
Go there and read the whole thing. BTW the picture on the right is of John Wilkes something or other.

If you haven't hit Terpsboy this week, go there because he's loaded. And be sure you hit this one. And Kim duToit has a ton of very good stuff this week too. Very very good.

For people like me who think we should just kick ass in Fallujah Wretchard has a sobering reminder of what house to house combat can be like. Never mind "we shoulda or coulda", the political decision has been made and it's his opinion that we have not surrounded Fallujah but have put a pincers on the "insurgents" and are penning them into a smaller and smaller area. Good read today. What he doesn't mention is that for Muslims, fighting to the last man standing will give the Muslim world a morale boost after the disgraceful performance of Iraqi troops in the "real" war.

KERRY TOAST??? HE'S IN THE TOASTER

Kerry! How did this meltdown come to pass? Kerry ain't a bad guy. He went to Viet Nam when tons of other chickenshits refused to go and sent others to die in their places. He's won lots of elections fair and square. He's a Lefty, but so what? How can a minor thing like a possibly questionable purple heart and tossing medals (ribbons) over the White House fence as a symbolic protest against the Viet Nam War be turning out this way? Fake a Purple Heart? Lots of guys did it so they could go home early. Lots. In other wars guys shot themselves in the foot. Before I headed overseas I saw a guy in my barracks jump off a top bunk onto one foot til he broke his fucking ankle in about four places and was crippled for life. Maybe Kerry was playing the game but at least he was actually shot by the enemy.

A campaign is like a fifteen round fight without either fighter having a one punch knockout capability. Each will presumably have that granite chin. Will be able to take blockbuster punches and come back. The rules of combat state that you never punch yourself out early because it's a fifteen rounder. Well, Kerry and all the other Democrats came out of the gate like a multi-armed mythical God lashing punch after punch upon a hapless president. The Bush hating media reported the holy assault all the way. And that fucking Bush did nothing. He let Kerry and the other Democrats hit him with every punch in the book during the primary campaign without responding one time.

The classic "rope a dope", but it was Kerry who was the dope. The elite media was once again positive that the moron in the White House was too stupid to withstand the attack. Kerry showed every punch he had. Bush showed nothing. When Bush struck back in the fourth round it was Kerry who had no answers but to throw punches Bush knew were coming. He was ready to block and counter punch. We're now only starting round six so Kerry might find a miracle new punch, but I doubt it. His wife is another bomb Bush can detonate at any time. Bush hasn't paraded pictures of the San Francesspool marchers yet. Hasn't really outed all the Left Wing web sites. Hasn't so much as touched Kerry's non existent economic policies. And higher gas taxes, the ultimate get the poor out of cars forever tax, hasn't come up either. Bush hasn't thrown one straight right hand yet.

I think it was the decision to go after Bush on his National Guard Service far beyond what was the truth that gave Bush the first big counter punch. Kerry had Bush on the ropes with that phony charge, as well as the falsehood that the economy was headed into the toilet. Bush struck back. And back. And back. Until Kerry's life SEEMS to be a tissue of lies.

As I related in earlier posts during March when I was in Florida, the Kerry attack was in full swing and the people there were very upset about the economy and everything else about Bush. I left for a week but when I returned the Bush ads had been running for six days. What a change. Those ads are terrific. He carpet bombed the state of Florida. Simple ads. Repetitive themes. Suddenly when Kerry needed to respond and attack, he could only respond. He had punched himself out. He had no positive message to give. When a notorious Bush flogging columnist for the lefty Village Voice is talking about Kerry stepping aside, you know he may have a serious problem. The New York Observer, an ultra liberal but honest paper, is also expressing some doubt about Kerry: "digressions and obfuscations"; "his morose patrician mien and robotic delivery"; when your propaganda machine turns on you it means trouble.

Some serious problems. They have to do with lying. What foreign leaders back him? Who thinks the economy is headed down when every indicator since January shows a boom in the making? He's going to create so many jobs that we will have to have two million Mexicans cross the border to fill them and who believes he will create 10 million jobs? And the medals, the ribbons, the changes in stories. And it's only April. What the hell will he look like in September when Bush actually starts punching? Denise Rich is back with a new funding conviction. And her husband Marc is in play once again too, this time over the Oil for Terror bribes (Claudia Rosett said as much on Fox tonight and has a major piece in the WSJ again today ). Hillary is suddenly a negative.(see my post) Kerry wants to turn Iraq over to the criminally corrupt UN and Bush hasn't thrown that arsenal of punches yet. BTW the latest polls show that the UN is mistrusted by 44 percent of Americans; great timing Dems.
Among those who say they will vote for President Bush this November, 18% have a favorable opinion of the UN while 66% have an unfavorable view.
Among Kerry voters, it's 59% favorable and 21% unfavorable. Those not committed to either candidate are evenly divided--39% favorable and 33% unfavorable.
It looks like we will be protected from missile attack by North Korea so Kerry will have nothing but a short left jab flailing in the breeze there about why he opposed the missile Defense shield.

How did it get to be like this? I don't know, but you just can't be a slippery liar like Clinton when you are a Kerry. And we may not ever want to see another Clinton again.

I

AL JAZEERA CENTER FOLD OF THE MONTH

HILLARY FONDA STABS US IN THE BACK to the delight of the German press and World Net Daily attacks her HERE. She IS the anti-American Left, a hateful opportunist striking at this country from, where else?, Europe. Terps has a run down too.
Al-Jazeera, the Qatar-based satellite news channel, broadcast her remarks immediately in Arabic translation.

The Consumer Confidence Index from the University of Michigan is bullshit. Only fools and the media believe it. Rasmussen reports as follows with the Index down over the past two days:
Tuesday April 27, 2004--The Rasmussen Consumer Index lost another point on Tuesday to 114.0. The Index, which measures the economic confidence of American consumers on a daily basis, is up three from a week ago and up seven from a month ago. However, it is still down three points from three months ago.
People are still on the fence due to a lot of media negativity, Kerry campaigning, and the general negativity of the Left publicity machine.

Has the entire Hollywood-Big Media complex become the BBC West??? Meaning that they speak with one single Leftist voice in everything they do and say. As more and more TV shows blast Bush within the dialogue, and books that bash Bush are actually bought for big money, we might as well admit that we have a monolithic media worthy of the Politbureau and every bit as corrupt. I'm going to start monitoring movies for Left Right content to prove my point. See a movie and see the Left.

PAT TILLMAN AND AYN RAND

Bill Quick's site has conjured up a long discussion about Ayn Rand, the philosopher/novelist of the late 40s through early 50's. She wrote "The Fountainhead" and the massive "Atlas Shrugged" which explained and explored her philosophy that asserts the individual is everything and the group tyrannical. Her philosophy is pure, now known as "Objectivism" and has many followers.

A core of her philosophy states there is no such thing as altruism. Nobody gives for any other reason than making the giver feel good. There is no such thing as the Biblical "pure" giving; left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Giving with no thought of return. The giver gets personal joy by giving or the giver doesn't give. The giver doesn't really give a rats ass about the cripples, beaten women, and so on. The giver gives because it makes the giver feel good, superior to others, or admired. Period.

Nowadays some givers are investors or outright bribers to places like The Tides Foundation. The disbursement of these "charitable " funds is almost exclusively to politically compliant groups who agree beforehand to "give back".

To the pure world of Ayn Rand, Pat Tillman joined the army because he couldn't live with himself if he didn't. He couldn't sit in society making big bucks while guys were dying in a war against terror. He did it for himself. For his own inner peace. Not for us. Society is best served when we all behave this way.

The Conservatives would have us believe Tillman made a sacrifice. He did it for us. A Christ figure is created here by the Right, not out of good feelings for Pat, but for political gain. I think it's bullshit.

It could well be that this educated 3.8 grade average citizen believed that....."No man is an island". He may have felt that a man can't sit in isolation from the world, cocoon himself from the war, the terror, and his feelings for his country....
.....and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.....
His funeral bells will be a reminder that the bell tolls for us, not for him. Wake up everyone. What are you doing? Quick links to this piece on Cold Fury which examines Tillman's death more closely. A good read.

Kim duToit is unusually good today, if you haven't been there, go.

SUPPOSE THERE WAS A TILLMAN EFFECT?

Two top NFL draft picks to join army rangers.
They are joined by three other active players in the NBA. Two have been placed in mental institutions by their parents til they can "recover". The agent of one of the NFL players insists on negotiating a contract with the U.S. Army for his client ("You think this is the plantation, whitey?"); the agent is insisting hardship for himself (the agent) and his family if his client works for chump change. "What the fuck am I supposed to do with thirty five percent of five hundred fucking dollars a month?", screamed an outraged B.M.(Big Money) Muhammad the agent for "Mad Dog" David Dawson, an outside linebacker who left school early to join the army because of his inner voice. The mother of another player stated anonymously that "I spent fifteen years gettin' that boy ready for the big money, a big house for me and my family, and a lifetime of luxury, and now he's wantin' to throw everything away for that ho' he found name of Patriotism. Well fuck her, dat bitch ain't seein' one dime if I have anything to say about it."

The new mental disease called "The Tillman Dysfunction" will be covered by all insurance plans. The disease, which can be fatal, causes a lack of concern for money, a feeling that there are more important things in life besides fame, whores, and drugs, and an urge to be a part of "something bigger than themselves". Dr. Ayub Kunsimeer Akhmed of the University of California at Berkeley has found that the disease is usually caused by association with Jews and proves his theory of a spreading virus of "principals" he calls "The Tillmanstein Syndrome".

The NFL in conjunction with the ACLU, the DNC, and the 9/11 Moms will file suit in Federal Court on Monday to stop this madness before it spreads to baseball, women's track, and beach volleyball. "We try to teach our youth to think of and for themselves without principles, patriotism, or concerns about people who are only saying they will kill us," said a 9/11 Mom at a news conference at an Iranian nuclear facility where she was meeting with some mullas to discusss ending once and for all "by whatever means necessary" the conflict in Iraq.

SPIN YOUR OWN HEADLINE ABOUT THE "ABORTION" MARCH IN D.C. ON SATURDAY

1. Baby Killers March in D.C. (Christian Gazette)
2. Women March to Save Rights to their Own Bodies (Big Media: NY Times etc.)
3. Phony Democratic Front Group Marches in D.C. (Weekly Standard and National Review)
4. Women March for Human Rights (Daily Worker and CAIR)
5. Bitter, Ugly, Bush Hating Democratic So-Called Women Pretend to March for Rights (Oraculations and other stupid bloggers)

In another brilliant move the Bush Administration has allowed the "situation" in Fallujah to fester for weeks. The flies and maggots of the press, both foreign and domestic, who hate America and jump for joy every time one of our guys dies, are there to "report". What they "report" will be the wanton destruction of mosques (complete with pictures and video), the needless slaughter of civilians with the gory footage to "prove" our bandit mentality, and so on. This place should have been knocked down quickly. Now the Bush Administration stupidity, their need to "be liked", and their lack of purpose continues the Viet Namization of the war. By Viet Namization I mean the determination to win is outweighed by political considerations at every level. I still say that almost any Republican could have beaten Bush in a head to head primary. Stay the course? This clueless bunch has surrounded and re-surrounded and really surrounded that nothing city for two weeks. Bullshit. Next: a secured surrounding. According to TV News this AM the administration is concerned about Al Jazeera coverage. If those White House morons had built TV stations with the $84 billion instead of sending Marines begging to the WSJ over the past two weeks nobody would have to worry about Al Jazeera. Wretchard has a differing POV.

THEY'RE HEEEEERRREEEEEEE

Chuck Simmons emailed me some links that he doesn't have up on his site that are Muslim sounding as hell: The first one has to do with the "Honor Killing" and assault on his children by a Turkish Muslim:

(April 24, 2004) ? A Turkish immigrant who is charged with killing his wife and critically injuring his two daughters in their Scottsville townhouse allegedly claimed he acted as a matter of honor.
He assulted his four year old daughter with a hammer because she had been "sullied by a gynecological exam. And another "Local Man Connected to Terrorism" report from upper New York state which seems to be the Montanna of terrorist living. Chuck has lots of stuff from Iraq.,

PAT TILLMAN IS DEAD SO LET'S MAKE SOME MONEY OFF THE CORPSE The NFL, still smarting over that obscene "Super Bowl Halftime Show for Five Year Old Degenerates", will now see how much "good vibes" they can squeeze out of the death of Pat Tillman. Pat Tillman prayers before games, Pat Tillman Day, Pat Tillman Stadium, and watch for his jock to go on Ebay. Everything he hated, and died for; money, exploitation, fakery will now be peddled by the increasingly disgusting NFL. All because their "image" was soiled by the Super Bowl halftime show which revealed the NFL as an over the hill stripper willing to do anything for a buck. I get sicker.

PAT TILLMAN: THE BEST PART OF ALL OF US

Why do I feel such rage at Pat Tillmans' death?

I just hit all the so-called Left sites and not a word about him. Just the same hate toward Bush and conservatives. I feel so angry at some of my fellow citizens at this time. I know that many of them are laughing and cheering. That they are glad some phony like Tillman got what he deserved and can only wish it happened to Bush. That's part of why I'm angry.

I feel like I lost a part of me. A part of the good part of me and there's not that much that's as good as Pat Tillman in there. I just know now I have to do as much as I can to win this thing. Whatever I can do, I'm going to do. I suppose my writing will change. For the better.

Many times I wonder about the courage of John McCain and the other guys who were prisoners in Vietnam while Jane Fonda strutted her hatred of them. I wonder at the courage of others in Iraq and Afghanistan while people march in the streets of San Francisco and mock them. I think of the guys and try to imagine if I had their guts. I don't think I had Tilman's courage and convictions. And I don't like myself too much because of it. He was ten times the man I am. All those guys over there are ten times the man.

So maybe it's me I'm angry at. They should have killed me instead of him. I just have this ache in my stomach. I don't think it's going away any time soon. I think there's at least 135,000 Pat Tilman's over there, the best we have. God, I feel awful.

God dam it! Why him? Maybe it's to wake up phonies like me and get us to focus on the job. At any rate that is how I'm going to use it.

THANKS PAT.

Another indictment of American Black Politicians as they continue to whine for welfare while slave trafficking in Africa soars. Since Blacks are doing the trading I guess that makes it all OK. The BBC has a quick blurb today
The report, (UN) which covers 53 African nations, says children are the biggest victims in what is a very complex phenomenon. It describes how they are forced into slavery, recruited as child soldiers or sold into prostitution.
No biggie. Especially to the Congressional Black Caucus.

Totally surprised that super Lib and feminist Supreme Court Justice Ginsberg kicked out the Claret case against the NFL. Looks like common sense won for a change. We prohibit young people from engaging in certain activities until they are TRAINED everywhere in our society, including the Military. The prospect of high school kids with bones still soft taking NFL hits scares the shit out of me. This was not The Curt Flood case.

OK, OK, Chuck Hagel is an asshole Just didn't want to be left at the gate. The only reason these people want a draft is to cause riots on campus.

CULTURE CLASH AND CIVILIZATION CLASH---MUSLIMS WILL ALWAYS HATE US

(warning: this is very long) The purpose of this piece and my others about the Mideast is to jolt you with the fact that we are in a playground staredown with a world that believes in God passionately, and believes with a religious fervor in their cultural past; in the case of China they have "Confucianized", thrown out Western Marxist Leninism in favor of their past. In 1903 most people of the United States believed in the Bible LITERALLY, meaning they saw no allegory; Jonah was actually swallowed by a whale and so on. Every word was considered true. We are in a world where billions of people believe every word in the Koran is true; every word in all the Hindu Vedas and Upshanads are true and they memorize them. They devoutly pray to their God(s) every day. We must understand this better or we are toast and will continue to be "puzzled" by world hostility. A solution to the "puzzle" of hostility is the purpose of these essays.

We are in a Culture War we may lose, and we don't seem to know it.

Have you ever had the urge to drop into a friend's Bar Mitzvah and read from the Koran? Or tell all those stupid women to stop their whining at an Irish wake?, I mean for no reason other than to piss everybody off? In many parts of the world our Bill of Rights, displays of sexuality, both homo and hetero, is like cutting a big one at Easter Sunrise Services and grinning while those around you fight inhaling the noxious fumes.

World wide, we are facing the Four billion man line and a million line backers with an offense of limited man power and unlimited destructive power; meaning we can kill the four billion plus their linebackers or we lose. That is the way we are looking at the world but we don't seem to know it.

It is possible to face reality. We are looking down the throats of four billion people who hate what they believe we stand for and what they think we want to do to their cultures if they allow our democratic "system" to prevail. Our system is seen as increasingly secularist, anti- religion, and against "Devine" law whether inspired by Koran, Talmud, Bible, or Confucius. Translated: we are immoral. We oppose morality. We seek to impose our filthy immorality on everyone else.

How did we get to this point and what can we do? Four billion people lined up against us is not something to be addressed with slogans, military success, or money. Numbers just happen to be power.
No man is an island, entire of itself...any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

So you do your thing and I'll do mine, and in the end it'll all be fine......
Two corny adages that define two generations. The first defines the so-called "Greatest Generation", the one that led us during the Great Depression and World War II, and the second defines the 60's generation, the Boomer or Anti-War generation. Or maybe the Sex, Drugs, Rock and Roll generation, who knows? The first adage, taken from a much longer (and boringly British upper class) piece by a guy named John Donne, told a generation that we had to look after one another because a thing that affects one person effects every person. The second, taken from a work by a guy named Frederick Solomon Perls, told a generation that the only thing that counts is what the individual wants, and the heck with everyone else; "it's none of my business what YOU think of ME" is another way to look at it. We jokingly refer to the way we think New Yorkers apply this mantra as "Fuck you just in case". Which, by the way, is what many of us feel should be our policy toward all Muslim states. In fact I have a friend who sells a flag design of a snarling eagle crapping on the world with just such a slogan ($14.95 plus shipping)

Those two old adages can be taken too far. The "for whom the bell tolls" aphorism gave us a universal caring that embraced Communism, Fascism (socialism with an attitude), Socialism, and various collectivization practices where "we are all in this together" prevails over everything. In this country it also gave workers "rights", started the "Civil Rights" movement, created rules for business and labor, and demanded that we care for each other. This thinking got the U.S. through the worst depression of the industrial age without a revolution, won WWII, and confronted International Communism. It put Social Security, Bank Insurance (our deposits were not insured before 1933), unemployment benefits, and progressive income taxes into the culture. This adage also meant that people defined what "group" was best, so we had Communist Spies, gulags, suppression of dissent (Hungary etc.), Elks Clubs, Labor Orgs, Rotary Clubs and so on. This group-think largely divided us along labor and business lines and eventually led to an almost totally criminal labor movement and a "closed management" style of corporate governance; that corporate style led to business criminality illuminated by the S&L crises. These criminal activities were all "group" activities where the entire corporation involved every employee in the sale of worthless securities, land deals, and so on. Crooked labor unions coerced business into partnerships, corrupt business "got" crooked labor unions to join with them. We soon had a collective corruption masquerading as free enterprise. Union meetings were held in their hotels in Vegas and management had shareholder meetings in foreign countries they were bribing.

"You do your thing etc....." brought us rampant individualism. The current "Gay" Episcopal Bishop who deserted his two daughters to run off with another "man" is a disgusting example; he deserted his children because he "was doing his thing" but made OK because he left his family for another "man" instead of another woman (if you need to puke I'll understand). "Do your own thing "means everybody has a right to whatever it is they want to do and everybody does what they want to do; pornography, drugs, adultery, child molestation, homosexuality, stealing from your company, and almost every other individually defined behavior became OK, or OK under certain circumstances (your wife saying it's OK being the main circumstance). Doing our own thing has brought us a rebellion against big government, against government regulation, an entrepreneurial business climate (for good and ill), the demise of the large labor unions (except for the UAW and Teamsters), and an "almost anything goes so long as it feels good" society. Churches are bad, government is bad (except for foreign thugocracies), unions are bad, business is bad, the political parties are bad, God should mind her own business; in short every group is bad when defined by the "do your own thing" individual. The individual demands that other individuals and groups agree with them 100% or they are bad. Single agenda politics is one part of this.

The "for whom the bell tolls" generation went overboard and the population wanted something different. Younger people were appalled at the corruption; I remember when I shot my first movie I had to go to an older guy to learn how to bribe the city employees who blocked my camera shots til they were paid off. I didn't know how to do the bribe thing "right". Do you just walk up to them and hand them money? Do you call their union? Do you go downtown and give a bunch of money to a Councilman? None of those moron professors ever mentioned the real stuff. (You call the union guy and give him an envelope with $400 in it for this particular bribe; all twenties by the way) I didn't think "bribing" was something that actually took place. Once I learned the system I wanted to change it. And change it yesterday. So me and my pals embraced the "you do your thing" slogans. This has led us to the wide open culture we now show the world. And it is here that we are having our most serious problems right now. We will lose if we don't wake up. One of the few real intellectuals, Hannah Arendt, once pointed out in an essay called "On Power" (she could have sold a million copies had she called it "I Had Sex with my Dad and I Loved it" but you know how stupid those intellectuals can be). In this outstanding essay she points out that pointing guns at someone to control what they do is terror; Power is numbers, and numbers will always triumph eventually because the guys holding the guns get tired, careless, or just plain don't want to do it any more; at the end of Communism the Russian Army would not fire on their own people. Want to bet the Iranians won't fire on their own people? Religious thugs don't get as tired as most.

"What the world thinks of us is of no concern to us" will bite us in the jugular as we try to deal with the three main competing cultures on the planet: Confucianism (you know, like in "Confucius say, Virgin like balloon ? one prick, all gone"), Hinduism (the guys who drink their own piss for shit sakes), and the Muslim block (Men who dress in robes are always pissed off); almost four billion people who don't like what we show; or to put it more precisely, hate what we show them and conclude what we show them is what we are. And to a billion Hindus you are what you DO. Our culture of rampant sexual excess portrayed in movies, plays, and books; a society that displays gay priests and bishops, unlimited excessive use of drugs and alcohol, the widespread family breakups, and rampant crime; these are things that cannot be viewed by these other cultures as desirable; how this stuff came to be desirable to us would be the subject of another essay. Our culture is viewed as Satan, evil, and every other synonym for just plain bad. These other societies are looking at us. They are evaluating what we say we are; then they compare it what we actually project and hold it up to their own cultures. Our Constitution and Bill of Rights has produced an obscene society to them; a thoroughly despicable Hollywood culture of depravity.

The comparison is odious to them. We are obscene.

But we have money.

So here's a shock: China is NOT Communist. Today it is a society based on Confucius (500BC). They base life on---order, family responsibility, hard work, collectivism, discipline, and moderation in food and drink--China is becoming a successful economic power . Money makes you a successful society everywhere except the Middle East; "He who has the gold makes the rules" is a widely applied aphorism. Asian cultures in South East Asia are becoming Muslim or Confucian (Singapore, Taiwan). When you are successful you become a "role model" for other countries and cultures. Muslim "success" is a negative success; destroy America; bring America down instead of bringing yourself up.

China is culturally older than Europe, Africa, older even than Egypt and Sumeria. What they are doing is reaching back into the cultural past, and their cultural past always regarded the West as barbarians, cultural inferiors, and a people to be scorned; this includes the "new" Muslims, the Japanese (regarded as a separate culture by most academics), Christians, and to a certain extent the Hindus of India. Increasingly, they are showing the world and Asia that there is an "Asian Way" that doesn't have to cough when America catches cold.

All of these cultures reject the gay Episcopal Bishop who deserted wife and two young daughters to engage in sodomy with another man (beyond disgusting to Muslim or Hindu); the serial sexual encounters by men and women with no regard for morality; ignoring family responsibilities; abandoning self discipline in favor of drugs, drink and debauchery; the lack of order to any moral principal; and no moderation in any phase of our Hollywodized lives. The direct opposite to cultural traits of Muslims, Confucians, and Hindus. When we say we are "right" we tread on sensibilities and cultures that are thousands of years old. When China intervened in the Hong Kong stock market to support their stocks it was a Confucian "collectivist" move, protecting the entire society and rejecting the individualism of Western markets, not Communist dictators riding roughshod over rules. They are "right" in their view and we are totally "wrong". And they proved it. They saved their stock market from random predators like George Soros (now raising money for people he probably believes will allow him to rig currency markets again), Nobel Prize winning predators like Long Term Capital Management, and so on. The currency speculation that had wrecked the economies of South East Asia was stopped dead by the Chinese actions. They "showed" Asia how to deal with the immoral West. George Soros was not going to wreck Hong Kong. Period. End of story.

China does not have a single period in their 5,000 year history where any form of democracy held sway. They have had autocrats of one kind or another for the entire period; theirs is a society ruled by tradition, a willingness to sacrifice for the "greater good", and the need for strong leadership. That is the Chinese way. It is impossible to overstate the influence of Confucianism on all of Asian thought. Everyone everywhere is at least partly Confucian. Politically, Confucius advocated a paternalistic government in which the sovereign is benevolent and honorable and the subjects are respectful and obedient. This is IT. No argument, and it's been this way, the Confucian Way, for more than 2,500 years.

Further, the philosophy teaches that original human goodness can become depraved through one's own destructive effort or through contact with an evil environment (the West). Communism tried to stamp this Confucius stuff out but now it is back. And we need to understand the difference between Communism and Confucianism as well as their similarities when dealing with them.

In largely Hindu India religion is an occupation to most of the nearly a billion Hindus . Their religion dates back to 1,500 BC. The basic (if you can apply such a word to this most complex of religions) tenant is that you are what you DO; not what you think. And what we are DOING in our culture is what they believe we are; drunks, drug addicts, sex perverts, serial seducers of women, and so on. They have a caste system which we disapprove of, they have "holy cows" we disapprove of, they regard certain trees and plants as sacred, and so on; we don't approve of anything one billion people regard as their religion. Some drink their own urine, we just hate that. Some sit under a tree for weeks without eating (how the hell are we supposed to open a McDonald's for such slime balls?), some will let crocs eat children without intervening because that's the way nature is (we really hate that), they kneel and pray EVERY morning so our secular elites can look upon them with scorn, and so on and so forth. Starting in 1,300BC and added upon til 900BC are the "Vedas" which Hindus memorize (like the Muslims do the Koran); some memorize the Upanishads as well. All this proves to us they are even dumber than Muslims. There can be no argument that the Hindu philosophy is the most complex on the face of the earth and that their religion is by far the oldest. They believe in hundreds of Gods as opposed to The One True God, if that isn't a pain in the ass.

What many of us (not so) secretly like about them when we are young men is that we think they worship their dicks. Like in Penis Worship. Many of us believe they are on the right track and we go over there to meditate about dicks and vaginas hoping for a lifetime of great pussy with no responsibilities because we are "holy"; "Not so fast Tonto!" Hindus live a Greek like mythology. In fact much of Greek mythology is derived from Hindu. Indians actually live Hindu myth. Re- inactors include Kapalikas, who carry skulls to reenact the myth in which Shiva beheaded his father, the incestuous Brahma, and was condemned to carry the skull until he found release in Benares (Oedipus anyone??); yogis who eat ordure (that's a dignified literary word for shit) or flesh in order to demonstrate their complete indifference to pleasure or pain; and then there is Shiva, which is also the deity whose phallus (dick to you illiterates) is the central shrine of all Shaiva temples and the personal shrine of all Shaiva householders. (One of my friends in show biz came back from "Meditating in India" with an idea for a movie he was going to call: "Ordure eating Phallus Worshipers of the East". He actually wrote it; all his friends decided to stay away from both him and India). Now this phallus worship is what many Westerners try to get into til they find out that Shiva's priapism resulted in his castration and the subsequent worship of his severed member (his actual goddam penis). This means it's not so sexy after all, in fact it's anti-sex. So Hinduism is an all around pain in the ass to Westerners, most of whom worship T&A anyway. Or more precisely, young T&A.

An even bigger pain in the ass is that half the Hindus seek the sacred and profane rewards of this world. THIS world, not the mythological stuff. They want health, wealth, children, family, and a good re-birth. Half the Hindus are materialists. You could say it's almost free enterprise with a lot of praying and severed dick worshiping. These religious bastards are going to med school, university, and inventing bombs and things. These people are the part of the culture of India that is responsible for their exploding economy. GDP growth in excess of 8% for the past five years. One thing about all of them: they believe in God (Gods), totally. As they prosper they look down on us. They don't think we are so hot.

What we show all these other cultures as a better way, is our "culture", not our Bill of Rights. One rap song is enough for everyone to say "get out of my life". India is now a certified power. They have the bomb, a ton of money, a successful university system turning out some of the world's top programmers and scientists. They are a net food exporter. They think they are every bit as good as us. They are right, because they have money too.

So we better re-think our dealings with all of these people before it is too late. We are outnumbered. Europe is a decaying and putrid corpse. The U.S. has become a culture that is selling out to personal indulgences that four billion people hate and regard with contempt.

This hatred of our values includes the various dictatorships and thugocracies scattered about the world who care about nothing other than power, but pretend a religiosity. Egypt, Sudan, our pals the Saudis, Palestine, the game players in Europe, and the posers in Latin America starting with drug enabler Mr. Fox in Mexico. We have to differentiate between cultures and political thugs. But some political thugs become religious thugs, while some religious zealots become criminal political leaders..

So where is the threat? Are Hindus going to visit your house and insist you join them in a urine cocktail? No. What about the Confucian Chinese? If we understand their philosophy we will understand that all of Asia wants to be Asia and not California (Kah-lee-foh-nee-ah, in Ah-nold speak). They want to do things "the Asian" way. They think that we can learn from them, that their way is better. One "Asian Way" that most Asian immigrants use to fund their businesses when they first arrive here revolves around the "Thirteen" (known by at least ten other names too). Thirteen people who have jobs form a unit. They pool their capital for thirteen weeks and then donate it by lot to one of them to start a business. They continue this process til all thirteen have received the largesse. Not all business succeed, but a hell of a lot of them do. That is why you see so many successful Asian business enterprises start up"from nothing". American Blacks refuse to learn from this and continually whine that Asians get money from China. They don't, they generate it themselves. In the Asian Way. The Asian Way is not to go to Uncle for a welfare handout.

Numbers is Power, eventually. We are outnumbered. So are we to fear a mob of Hindus opening up some fast-ordure restaurants? A bunch of Asians attempting to make us memorize the two books of the Shih Shu by Monday morning or else? Won't happen. What can happen is the Muslim Terrorists representing the Wahabi wing of their "religion" will continue their reign of terror. This is the only segment of the four billion we have to fear. But we do need to understand their "ways" if we want to do business.

SO WHAT DO WE DO IF WE WANT TO "PROTECT" THEIR CULTURES
1. Only make movies that Muslims, Hindus, and the Chinese government approve of.
2. Only allow books to be published that Muslims, Hindus, and the Chinese approve of.
3. Only allow music that is approved by the above groups.
4. All our laws must be cleared by a religious council. And the Bill of Rights must not be mentioned in mixed company (Westerners and others)
5. Force everyone to memorize either the Bible, Koran, Shih Shu, or Vedas.
6. Force everyone to live by one of the above.
7. Stop with this voting bullshit, that is what is causing all the trouble.

Because that is what we'd have to do; some of that is what our schools and universities are doing to us right now so people don't get their "feelings" hurt. The other way is to show these other cultures that if they leave us alone we will certainly leave them alone. But if you attack us, we will strike back. Hard. There is positive evidence that Muslim theocratic dictatorships will be overthrown, eventually. Unlike the other major movements in the world, the Muslims cannot hold up success as a model.

We can, and should, continually point out to the world the other cultures not practicing terror are successful; every bit as successful as America. Eating ordure can build character, if you do it right. American entrepreneurial spirit will produce a video on that: "Ordure Cooknin': Ordure Teriyaki, Ordure Alfredo and 50 other exciting Meditational meals: $19.95 plus shipping. Toilet paper not included. Just to piss India off.

Anyway, some stuff to think about.

For the artistically inclined check out these photographs by Rod Dresser. They cost up to 5K and because of the nature of the web none are full sized. I went to High School with him, he is a graduate of the U.S. Navel Academy, served in Viet Nam (he rammed his sub into John Kerry's boat causing Kerry to fall and get a purple heart) and then went Asian and became a top photographer. He uses an old technique that nobody uses any more. Check it out. Shows in galleries in Carmel, LA, Taos, and New York. And if I can break into a gallery some might be available out of the trunk of my car.

FREE ENTERPRISE FOR AFRICA, SOCIALISM FOR THE REST OF THE WORLD EQUALS STARVATION FOR AFRICA

Oh those Horrible Europeans, they are subsidizing their crops, preventing genetically engineered seed and food from entering Europe and Africa, which means since they subsidize their low yield crops they can undercut the poor Africans so that they starve.

First, who really gives a fat fuck if Africans starve? Do you?

I know, one day per month feeding Africa is topic du jour in all the right places; NY Times, CNN, and the other lying media circles; the Hollywood Left, the LA Times, and Yale. All are careful to be politically correct. In the case of food PC means that only organically produced food is OK for the starving black bastards, because genetically engineered food screws with NATURE. One would think from these PC experts that genetically engineered food is new. That it has never been done before. They are liars.

The Indians in America started engineering food 9,000 years ago. Just look at corn.

Corn started out as something called Teosinte 9,000 years ago as a grassy-like plant with many stems bearing small cobs with kernels sheathed in hard shells. Corn was genetically engineered by Indians over time til it was the corn on the cob the Europeans discovered in the New World. See HERE and then look HERE for some history on rice and wheat also genetically engineered by Indians..

So the world got to where it is now through 9,000 years of genetically engineered plant foods. Now let's get to right now and the starving Africans, remembering the first duty of every government is to provide cheap food to their own people, and in a democracy when food gets too expensive the government is changed. Ever since some Egyptians almost killed a Pharaoh who failed to provide, all the following Pharaohs made dam sure they had seven years supply of grain on hand, just in case. Every government since then has tried to do the same, even the stupid Communists. Cheap food is job one.

But the hard nosed politics of food is one hell of a topic. The current party line on my side of the divide is that the EU is deliberately trying to capture the African market by starving part of the continent to death. They are more interested in subsidizing French farmers, arguably the most inefficient in the history of the planet after Soviet Collectivization. They forbid EU trading with any country that grows genetically engineered food, falsely claiming the food is unsafe, unhealthy, and a menace to adjoining countries. GE food could end starvation in Africa in a single growing season. AMERICAN environuts are among the leaders in the starvation campaign. But South Africa may agree to mill 200,000 tons of GE wheat in order to end starvation down there. That will be the beginning. A tiny add here is that the machinery necessary to mill grains is not universally available in Africa so the Europeans have told them to play ball or they won't mill.

How serious is the starvation? The UN (I don't trust them either) says the following:
The United Nations estimates 14.4 million people from Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Lesotho and Swaziland are facing severe food shortages. Of these, only Zambia has outrightly rejected GM relief. Lesotho and Swaziland have not made their stand known, but the uncertainty and reluctance has led to lengthy delays in shipping.
Go HERE for the disgusting details. All these people will starve on the environmental canards of EU and US enviro thugs. But to blame only EU farm subsidies is missing the point.

How about the good old capitalist USA? Do we subsidize farmers? In a nutshell the answer is, "Holy Shit!!".

Forgetting the individual farmer, let's just look at the money. The government sent out 22 million farm subsidy checks just two years ago. Starting with sugar; cane sugar subsidized eighteen cents a pound and beet sugar at twenty-two cents a pound; the world price is between five and seven cents per pound.. The sugar subsidy cost you and me $1.4 billion per year in higher food costs. According to the GAO study, 33 sugar farmers have received more than $1 million each in government subsidies, with one Florida family receiving $65 million in one year alone.

Because the subsidies go directly to sugar processors and not the farmers there is a labyrinth of business and farming interests involved in keeping the sugar program in place. Growers are part owners of processing plants and so on.

ADM and Carghill, who are CORN processors, lead the charge for higher SUGAR subsidies. Corn processors? Sugar? Corn farmers and processors need higher sugar prices in order to force candy, soft drink, and other users of sweeteners to use expensive corn syrup, and the only way they can do this is if sugar costs more than sixteen cents a pound.

Get it? If domestic sugar costs more than sixteen cents a pound instead of the world price of seven cents a pound all the farmers and grain processors get to shove expensive corn syrup down the throats of all the soft drink and candy makers. As part of the subsidy no foreign sugar can be imported. This corn agribusiness interest is also behind the unnecessary corn created gasoline additive called ethanol. Ethanol costs us around two or three cents per gallon of gas. Corn subsidies are a part of the sugar deal. And it's deeper than that but you get where I could go here.

Then we have cotton, a water sucking crop with almost no equal (only rice, sugar, and coffee suck up as much). Cotton is now subsidized at seventy something cents a pound while the world price usually hovers around fifty plus cents a pound; this year for the first time in five the cotton price is above sixty cents (a "corn subsidies" Google search ). You have to all the way back to 1998 to see cotton briefly sell at seventy cents or higher, meaning we are guaranteeing farmers the highest price in recent history for growing it and tossing it on the world market at sixty cents. Now here's the boring capitalistic data. Hold your nose. The top 10 percent of cotton farmers got 73 percent of the handouts of $5.3 billion of total payments from 1996 through 2001 (subsidies ran to $4 billion plus in 02 and 03). These cotton producers received an average payment over this time period of $286,007, an average of just over 55K per. However, the top 1 percent, which only represents 1,858 recipients, collected nearly 25 percent of total payments of $1.7 billion with an average payment of $913,478, that's more than $120,000 per year, guaranteed. Worse, (if you need worse) this subsidy is also destroying cotton farming in Africa because those poor dopes can ONLY grow cotton in their soil and they are so stupid they practice capitalism. They have to sell their cotton at low world market prices which we depress even further by dumping ours. Every acre of cotton farmland in the US attracts a subsidy of $230. The total cotton subsidy is three times higher than the entire USAID budget for Africa's 500 million people. Capitalist enough for you? For an accurate but needlessly anti-Bush data link go HERE.

Other crops like rice, soybeans and wheat get plenty through farmer co-ops. The data is only available for the Clinton years which shows five out of the top ten subsidies went to Arkansas farming co-operatives.. Number one was Riceland Foods in Stuttgart AR who picked up a nifty $222 million, however $220,821,863 of the total came in the last two years of the Clinton administration. Riceland is followed by Producers Ricemill also in Stuttgart that only pocketed around $70 million. Why Arkansas? It just so happens that these farmer co-ops are there.

But these U.S. subsidies go even deeper, if that is possible. Farms are also owned by prison systems, jails, cities, and hospitals. They get paid off too. Jails? Yes. Cities? Yes. Why? Well they just do, they have political clout and they want more in handouts. So they get them. Haven't you ever heard of Georgia Correctional corn? Sing Sing wheat?

How about the farmer? You know, that guy who gets up at 4AM and works in the hot sun til sunset every single day. What about him? He wakes one morning in April and looks out upon nothing. Just land. Planting is coming so he has to "work" the soil, meaning he tills his acres to prepare the ground, usually plowing under a legume crop that fertilizes the soil. This costs money. Then he goes to the bank to borrow money for seed, fertilizer, and pesticide or herbicide. The bank will lend him the money IF he also buys crop insurance. This means if the weather destroys the crop the bank will be paid. The farmer will not be paid if there is no crop to deliver to the government. Now let's look at cotton. He will get 72 cents per pound IF there is a per pound to harvest. Too much rain, too little, too hot or too cold and there won't be enough per pounds to feed him and his family through the winter even at $2 per pound. The cotton farmer can't plant until the soil is the right temperature. Then he will seed it. During the growing season he has to weed it (more money), remove insects (more money), and be sure there is enough water (irrigation is more money). If things go right he harvests the cotton (more money). Rain, even one drop during pollination period of a single day will ruin the entire crop. So will not enough rain. A farm will average around 700 pounds per acre on a good year. It's the cost and grade that has to work out. 500 acres (average size of a cotton farm) may yield 350,000 pounds of cotton that cost the farmer at least $200,000 to grow. IF the cotton grades well he may get around $.60 at current prices; much higher if bad weather hit other parts of the world or country; a hell of a lot lower if everybody in the world has a big crop. If he has to sell at market he will lose everything unless the market is at $.62 or higher. He has to pay interest on the loan to the bank and he is out the crop insurance. At sixty two cents times 350,000 he makes $17,000 out of which he has to support a family, maintain his farm, his home, etc. At the subsidized price of seventy two cents per pound he will make $52,000. Keep in mind that a yield of 700 pounds per acre is on the very good side. If the yield is only 600 pounds per acre he is dead. It is a boom or bust existence for a farmer who works longer hours than any two men any of us know. The AVERAGE farmer is still getting screwed. He can grow other crops but where cotton can be grown it offers the best return if the weather is good. Without a subsidy the average cotton farmer doesn't farm, but neither does anyone else.

To sum up this state of things, every major country is subsidizing their agriculture, not a bad thing in and of itself. As I said at the beginning of this piece, the number one job of any government is to assure cheap food for their own people. The French Revolution was not caused by any yearning for democracy but because good old King Louie had refused to pay the farmers (barons and counts) a high enough price for their wheat so they refused to deliver wheat to Paris. Paris ran out of bread and Louie became toast. "Let them eat cake," still resonates today. Every country on the planet has to have cheap food or their governments are done.

Which means things ain't gunna change real soon no matter how many Africans who we really don't give a rats ass about die. Do you care? I mean really care enough to risk the day when we must have foreign food to exist because our own farmers can't possibly earn a living on $1 corn or fifty cent wheat? Think about that one while you watch the whimpering whiners on PBS.

Oh oh, there really may have been yellow cake and be sure you click on the links. From the always reliable Wretchard. BTW have you checked out the new FOX weather BABE??? I smell superstar, like reports from a bunker in Palm Beach or the trenches of Bel Air........

I am deleting The Activist from the Iran blogger list because they are not only completely wrong much of the time but I suspect they are simply a mouthpiece for Reza Pahlavi like in the former shah's family. I don't trust them.

I am personally opposed to building that TV station in Iraq with private money because our fucking government should do it, should have done it, and should be forced to do it. BUT IF YOU WANT TO GET INVOLVED GO HERE, IT'S ALSO FUN. And while you're there be sure to check out this internationally acclaimed world cuisine recipe collection. LATE ADD TO THIS POST; Claudia Rosett appearing on Brit Hume this PM stated that the total Oil for Food take could be as high as $40 billion. It was she who singlehandedly kept the Oil for Terror program front and center while the big media slept, has another broadside today
We need some better explanation of how the U.N., charged with overseeing the $100 billion-plus Oil-for-Food program, allowed Saddam to filch at least $10 billion, peddle influence possibly with the U.N. itself, set up front companies, procure clandestine arms, fund the regime's murderous security services, and so on. It would also be valuable to have some clear idea of how the U.N. proposes to reform its own deeply entrenched patterns of privilege and secrecy, to prevent its future collusion in such abuses,
We all owe a debt of gratitude both to her and the WSJ for keeping on this til the sloths and co-conspiritors in the media finally reported it. These thieves will take over Iraq if Kerry wins.

Kim duToit has a post up that will cause you to change your meds if you don't go down to the rifle range. Personally, I'm just waiting for the Left to turn everything over to the UN so we can all learn how to steal from the poor and give to the rich.

Had a fire in my crib so blogging will be lite......

LET'S ALL DO THE INTIFADA, IT'S THE LATEST CAMPUS CODE WORD

What does intifada mean? More important, what has it come to mean?

In Arabic the literal meaning of intifada is a shaking off or shivering because of fear or illness. It also means abrupt and sudden waking up from sleep or unconcerned status.

The Palestinian (pre-PLO) spontaneous uprising in 1987 became known in the popular language as THE Intifada. The Intifada initiated in 2000 has been a "violent" shaking off. And as time goes by the definition of intifada has evolved so that now it means a violent shaking off; "the sudden waking up from sleep or unconcerned status" involved every act of violence imaginable"; car bombings, suicide bombings, armed mob violence and murder. The "shaking off" has become a "code word" for violence. We are used to code words in this country. Residential zoning frequently means "keep Blacks out". Environmental Protection frequently means stealing land from normal people so that rich people can build a ski resort for themselves. And we all know what the words "by any means necessary" mean when said by Blacks and Left Wing nuts.

Intifada now being urged by university professors, American Muslims, and Palestinians can mean whatever they want it to mean. We have to watch this word because many of us "feel" that it means violence. A code word. When pushed up against the wall in public the college professors, the smart anti--Semites and the college "kids", all pretend that they really mean a "Non violent intifada". This "non-violence" as now practiced includes e-mail attacks on non-conforming students and professors, anybody they decide to attack, and massive publicity against racism.

I don't believe it really means non-violent for a second, but this is the USA and I guess we have to wait for the body count.

Markets
I WAS WRONG

I said we'd not see rates go up before election. WRONG.
Greenspan's commentary today indicates that he sees a monster employment number coming up and the Fed will raise rates 1/4 point as early as May but look for June. And there might be one more 1/4 in July or August.

Greenspan sees data long before it becomes available to anyone. All I can say is that the mid-week LA Times help wanted is huge for all labor categories. Mid week has been very thin for years. Stock profits will remain very good because there is just a tinge of inflation out there which means they can raise prices. And look at the dollar. I've been saying for months it would go to 118 ECU; as I write this it is at .11850. It could get even stronger as the EU goes Japan, a ten year recession. And gold falling $20 in a week is telling you that we are booming. Next JOBS report is May 7th.

Mr

Yes, the asshole Michael Moore actually said this:
The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not "insurgents" or "terrorists" or "The Enemy." They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win.
The links to this obscene prick are all over the web. To be honest, anyone has a right to be against this war, but his hateful speech (writing) is what the Left is all about. He's glad our guys get killed because every death makes him right.

IRAQ, CULTURE, CIVILIZATION, AND "THE INNER IRAQI"

Them crummy Commie professors taught all of us
that dictatorships, other than Marxist, are bad. Authoritarian governments are bad. Non democratic governments are bad unless they are in Africa or other countries where non-whites are the majority. Commie teaching should be enough to at least make us check out the premise without making a moral equivalence that cannibalism is just as good as Western Democracy, that slavery is as worthy as freedom, or any other post modern crap. Some cultures and civilizations ARE better.

First, let me define my terms "civilization" and "culture" for purposes of this essay, and this essay only. Most people believe the terms culture and civilization overlap and don't think about a difference. For this essay let's say culture is the inner person; the head and heart so to speak. This includes arts, music and dance and various higher pursuits of human life which are also classified as cultural activities. Civilization is the tangible betterment of ways of living, forcing nature to bend to fulfil the needs of the people. It includes also organizing societies into politically well-defined groups working collectively for improved conditions of life in matters of food, dress, communication, and so on. Building roads is civilization, dancing on roads is culture.

We all know that civilization can be built by authoritarian government. Egyptian, Roman, China, and so on are obvious examples. Roads, buildings, improved standards of living etc. When there was nothing else but authoritarian government, culture existed and even flourished; there are drawings on caves when there was no government at all. In modern times, since 1700, what has been proven?

First: does authoritarian government kill culture or create it? A question that the Left always knows the answer to (it always "depends") but never explains. Conservatives have trouble answering it because of religious beliefs; fabulous art has been created under church restrictions..

When I ask, does authoritarian government kill culture or create it; I mean the main culture of a society; the arts, the myths, the "who were we" and "who are we now", inside. Did Hitler kill or assist German culture? In the case of Hitler, the Germans have long believed that civilization and culture are separate. No other country embraced this concept. Hitler's anti-Semitism was already a part of German culture. He took advantage of a collapse of German civilization after WWI, a collapse that saw inflation running at more than 20,000 percent per DAY. It can be said that Hitler was able to impose a new culture of militarism, Nordic myth, and racial superiority upon the civilization of Germany. He reached into a part of the German past and invented Aryan "culture".

Mussolini said he was "re-creating" Rome, simply bringing a culture up to date without changing the civilization of Italy. At first.

That's what they said. The results were that these "cultural re-creations" were wiped out by WWII and the dominant culture of the West; capitalism (sort of), democracy, and freedom were made dominant once again. All this proves democracy works best. Does it?

China has had two great civilizing periods both autocratic, Islam once ruled half the world and was totally autocratic, India before the Brits did beautifully (OK, not beautifully) before democracy, not to mention Ancient Egypt, all of Europe before 1793, and most other sub-cultures.

So what about Saddam Hussein and Iraq and "saving Iraq"? The culture and civilization of Iraq goes back thousands of years before Europe. Most refer to Iraq as the actual birthplace of civilization itself. So what is their culture? Is it Islamic? Now it is, but what was it before Mohammed? Who were the original Iraqis and what influences from way back when still obtain there? No democracy anywhere. Yet they invented the farm collective, a necessity because of the flooding of Tigress and Euphrates Rivers back in pre-history. The authoritarian Iraqis were known as Sumerians. Sumerians invented writing, double entry accounting, private property (even the King was held to contracts); they invented both the wheel and the plow, as well as the first mathematics system (based on 60). Their society was "matriarchal" meaning women had rights. They, not the much later Arabs or Greeks, invented banking. It was the ancient Iraqis and not the Greeks who invented the long narrative, they wrote stories down; their most famous narrative includes Noah building a boat to save himself and civilization from a flood, before the Jews and before the Bible. They invented an alphabet and the first calendars. We know they invented bureaucracy and that they had a yearning for some order. We know they had arts, statues, tall buildings called ziggurats, and that they traded with others. Without democracy.

Well the Sumerians got knocked off by the Akkadians, a Semitic people said to be descended from Noah (you know where this will lead, eventually) spread all the way to Lebanon and then got knocked off by a Sumerian revolution. By this time the transfer of power by war was fully in place. So Mesopotamia took over. Everybody agreed that The Garden of Eden was in Mesopotamia and it just so happens that the most warlike people at this time were the Assyrians (like in Syria) who lived there too so all hell broke loose forever. So it came to pass that the country was united by a guy named Hammurabi (a hostile takeover), the empire was known as Babylon and he invented law, known as the Hammurabi Code. The Code is considered the earliest legal comprehensive code of laws known in history. A copy of the code is engraved on a block of black diorite. A team of French archaeologists dug up this block and it is now in the Louvre Museum in Paris. The good old French stole and kept one of the great prizes of ancient Iraq.

I could go on with the Hanging Gardens, Nebuchadnezzar, Solomon's Temple, The Assyrian takeover (war again), then Cyrus the Great (war) Alexander the Great who died there (war), and lots of others tramped around Iraq. Persia (Iran) took over til the Arabs (Muslims) marched in and took over.

Baghdad become the seat of the first Muslim Caliphate and the city became the center of Islamic civilization. Baghdad was important both commercially and culturally as well as a famous center of learning in the Middle Ages. It was regarded in the tenth century as the intellectual center of the world, the cultural capital of the Islamic world, and a center of power in the world. It was where Arab and Persian cultures mingled to produce a blaze of philosophical, scientific, and literary glory. This era is remembered throughout the Arab world, and by the Iraqis in particular, as the pinnacle of the Islamic past.

If all that weren't enough, mathematics was invented there too. Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khawarizmi (680-750 AD), discovered algebraic equations, and some credit him with the invention of zero (before the Mayans). He introduced Hindu numbers to the Arab world. "Abu Ja'far" wrote a math book so influential that the title Abu Ja'far gives us the word "algebra". His books were translated into Latin and hit renaissance Italy like tactical nuclear culture shock. They couldn't speak Arabic, of course, so his name came out as "Algorismus". His name (misspelled again!) has gone into mathematics and computerspeak as Algorithm; for a step by step process for performing computations.

So there you have it, 4,000 years of hostile takeovers and dictatorships for one of the most creative people who have ever hit the planet. Yet democracy is nowhere in their culture or civilization. Saddam imposed himself after the Shah, promising "better things". He seized power by force, normal in that part of the world so there was nothing different from what they had been used to. He made a lot of the country more or less western in so far as streets, sewage, electricity, and TV goes. He, like Tito in Yugoslavia, suppressed all tribal (cultural) wars by killing anybody who crossed the line, which was nothing different from Cyrus, Alexander, or the local Muslim whatevers. Saddam tried to impose his will on his neighbors, Iran and Kuwait, not unlike the great Hammurabi or other leaders in that part of the world had done.

The big question for us right now is: How can Iraq embrace what they know nothing about? How can they embrace "democracy"? Especially since autocratic systems produced one of the greatest and most creative civilizations in the History of the World. Something for all of us to think about. Not that it can't be done, Europe had nothing but thousands of years of Kings and they did it, but it ain't easy. Suppose Iraqis DON'T WANT DEMOCRACY?

The "culture" has been Muslim for almost a thousand years. Their thinking, reading, education, the entire "inner Iraqi" is believing in an authority and obeying it. 4,000 years of Iraqi culture is against democracy. Put another way, "if it ain't broke don't fix it". And to Iraqis it ain't broke. Roads, tall buildings, manufacturing and so on mean nothing. Good medicine, an education as we define it, "things" mean little or nothing.

They don't get it. Every Iraqi wants to run things, wants to be the king. Compromise, working with others who disagree with you for the greater good is not a concept there. The dominant current culture is Muslim. Rule from the top. Obey or be killed. That is what they want. That is what worked for them in the old days. Allah, and what he says, what religious leaders say he says, is everything. They like it that way.

We are learning that now.

The Reynolds link to the piece in the Village Voice, an undeniably leftist paper, must be read. Once in a while The Voice gets it right correct, and this upsetting piece needs to be Fisked. We have long past just writing things off as Right Wing bullshit or Left Wing nut cases. This one is supicious mainly because of a pre-release announcement and the fact that the Left Wing establishment didn't get it.

Powerline is doing a bang up job in trashing the Washinton Post coverage of THEIR OWN POLLS. Read right under it for the latest NY Times fiasco.

Kerry says that Woodward says that an Arab prince said that Bush made a deal to have Arabs lower oil prices before the election. Woodward says he never reported any such thing. But this is sheer genius. A DNC "Apocalypse Now". If gas prices go down Kerry can claim a plot with a foreign power, if prices stay the same or go up he can continue to blame Bush. Don't you wish you had a brain like that?

I had the largest number of readers ever yesterday, thanx to many bloggers who linked me up. Nobody emailed me a reason why our genius class in D.C. didn't put up TV stations in Iraq. As an add here, Belmont today has a piece regarding the upper classes in Arab countries and how they are respected by everyone. TV stations could end all that but to the Bush assholes, this is not an option. Jesus.

A totally funny site is HERE. Sample quote from a contestant in the Miss Indiginous People's Beauty Contest
"I would like to forgive the dirty Spanish for killing all my peoples with their guns and their syphillis and help to bring world peace and see me at Al's Diamond Cabaret Thursday through Sunday."
I've also listed on the left. Like all "humorous" websites it does grow tedious after a few hits. Link through The Terpster

Ann Coulter hits at least two doubles.
The 9/11 commission has finally uncovered the proverbial "smoking gun"! But it was fired by one of the 9/11 commissioners. Maybe between happy reminiscences about the good old days of Ruby Ridge, Waco and the Elian Gonzales raid, Ben-Veniste could ask Gorelick about those guidelines. Democrats think it's a conflict of interest for Justice Scalia to have his name in the same phonebook as Dick Cheney. But there is no conflict of interest having Gorelick sit on a commission that should be investigating her.
Late add The ever alert, Kim duToit, pointed a BB Gun at me and let me know that Coulter says that Ruby Ridge took place under the Clinton Administration. It did not. It took place under Bush I. YOU tell her she's full of shit and to do the fucking dishes.

For perhaps the biggest "Oh my God!!" of the day you have to go here and read Daniel Pipes latest piece. As a teaser:
Iraq favors a cutback in oil output by OPEC: Well, guess what? Washington has been so hands-off of Iraqi oil, so willing to let Iraqis run this critical aspect of their country's national life, that it permits them to act exactly against not just U.S. interests but against Bush administration interests.
I'll give you one more at this different site and then go there and be prepared to get so pissed you'll be going to Kim duToit for gun recommendations.
We had testimony a couple of months ago from the past president of United, and current president of American Airlines that kind of shocked us all. They said under oath that indeed the Department of Transportation continued to fine any airline that was caught having more than two people of the same ethnic persuasion in a secondary line for line for questioning, including and especially, two Arabs.
Bush? I keep wishing there was somebody else besides Kerry. Anybody else. In case you need to get evern more pissed off go HERE for details of Terroist ties to our Churches. And then if you want to know how our own alert government is allowing terrorist organizations into the government (is it George E Newman or Alfred E Bush??) go HERE.

If any of you think the Republicans are a shoo in you better link to this piece in Front Page today. As a broader look at secret funding than my 9/11 "Moms" piece below. I think the Democrats are going to have nearly $300 million to play with, all of it from fake foundations.

TV..........."Deadwood" is a hell of a show. If you've never seen it on HBO you're missing something. May be a man's show. The Sopranos is so bad now that I don't know why I ever liked it. Boring, slow, domestic bullshit.

Did you see even one woman in the streets of Palestine yesterday? That tells you as much about Islam as anything you will ever see. Masculine rage unrestricted by any family interest.

I will not post todayOK, I lied because the Belmont Club has the must read of the week. I posted a less articulate opinion a year ago. We are facing 6,000 years of corruption. Please go to The Belmont Club and read both pieces. Starting with this one and then continue on down. This is "Deadwood" only everybody wants it to stay that way. The problem is Islam, and the sooner we face it honestly the sooner we can prepare to deal with it. And if you can explain the monumental stupidity of Rumsfeld and pals not building TV stations as job two or three, please email me and I'll publish it.

Economy Watch Want Ads in metro dailies are a terrific barometer of the economy because these ads cost money and open the employer to those minority/women law suits, metro dailies are the last place you will see ads. Today in the LA Times there are a ton of ads. Electricians, Plumbers, Engineers, Tool and Die Makers, column after column for drivers; in short everything you can think of. There's a ton of jobs out there. A ton. Look for another HUGE number in the next Jobs report. Almost every retail store has signs in the window for sales people, copy shops ditto, and fast food places have signs out. No wonder the Democrats are talking about nothing but the war.

Whatever Happened to being Grounded for a Week?

Tabriz University Students Given 30 Lashes in Iran

Two Tabriz University students received 30 lashes each by the order of the Revolutionary Court. They were both convicted for their part in last May-June university unrest.

The two students had twenty days to appeal the court's verdict, but they insisted that their sentences be carried out. Six other students have also been summoned to court.

Gimme that old time religion. Real old, like the one in the Mid-East. Just came across this old list I think put out by Huntington. Since the end of the cold war, this is a list of the conflicts in the World. Leaves out terrorist attacks. Almost all Moslems against somebody....

Phillippines -- Moslems attack Catholics
Indonesia -- Moslems attack Hindu Bali
East Timor -- Moslems attack Catholics (and in Baghdad kill the UN official responsible for Timorese independence)
Malaysia -- Moslems attack Buddhists
India -- Moslems attack Hindus, Moslems attack Jains, Moslems attack Sikhs
Kashmir -- Moslems attack Hindus
Iran -- Moslems attack Baha'is
Israels -- Moslems attack Jews
Egypt -- Moslems attack Coptic Christians
Sudan -- Moslems attack Anglicans and pagans
Uganda -- Moslems attack Catholics
Central African Republic -- Moslems attack Catholics
Cameroun -- Moslems attack pagans
Nigeria -- Moslems attack Anglicans
France -- Moslems attack Jews (for now, but just wait)
Balkans -- Moslems attack Orthodox, Moslems attack Catholics
Chechnya -- Moslems attack Orthodox
China (western) -- Moslems attack atheists

Markets
WHAT THE HELL?

It's simple:
To the bond traders (as opposed to investors) good news is bad news and bad news is good news. Get it?

These assholes are just traders trying to "scalp" some points and when the economy looks super strong they assume the Fed will kill the economy by raising rates, ergo (whatever that means) they want to be ahead of the Fed. And the much vaunted "Pros" in the stock market are not about to out brained by a bunch of fucking morons in the bond market so they do the same thing. You can't expect a bunch of 1590 SATs to just sit around and collect dividends, can you? You can't make money off the public unless you TRADE. Stay away from them. (Side Bet: Bond prices will be back to where they were within two weeks)

Booming retail sales are bad, booming housing starts are bad, recovering employment is bad. Do you need any more information to make the judgement on Wall Street Experts? Those of us in the 950 SAT class (who think the day will never dawn that rate hikes take place before an election) will make the money, don't worry. We are far too stupid to read the slow and fast stochastics, Bollinger bands adjusted for phases of the moon, or the interest rate-gold price-freight rate ratio compared to the DAX. That's why we can make money.

Don't read the news. We are in what is known as a trading range in the major indexes. What is that? Draw a parallel lines across highs and lows and you will see we are bound by the lines. Is this bad? Hell no. If you look at other index charts like the Russell you will see a market still trending up. This is where the action is when an economy is growing because the smaller companies that have room to grow just take off. I have been saying for almost a year to invest in stocks that pay dividends.

Most people who look at fair value think the major index stocks are at fair value right now. Iraq could develop into a real problem, but so could the coming ice age. Stay the course, don't listen to anybody but the markets. Thank God I don't have to write a daily column on the markets, if I did I'd have to write about all the bullshit to keep my job.

THOSE BRAVE 9/11 MOMS FOR DUMMIES

A few days ago I decided to write a short simple piece on the 9/11 "Moms" AKA Families for Peaceful Tomorrows. My purpose was to show a simple diagram of their money and connections to Left Wing causes. Simple? No way. The maze of various conduits for both money and Left Wing groups would make Enron proud. All these Leftist groups set up an impenetrable tangle of relationships so complex that it is impossible to find the "simple" set up. With the Left, as with corporate criminality, nothing is simple.

I HIDING

First, each and every Leftist group literally controls the Google search sites containing their names. They do this by flooding each and every site with "Links" to one another. The result is that there will be as many as 25 Google entries that praise your search target before you may find something that evaluates the target or is critical.

Second, these groups are incestuous. People from one group will appear on ten or more other groups, some of which are honest. Their tenticles slither into every nook and cranny of Left Life: enviornmental, labor, anti-war, anti-NAFTA, secularism, and so on. Their pupose is clearly to divert attention from their main goals which are the destruction of our economic system and the destruction of Republican Democracy.

II REVEALING

So instead of the simple diagram of the 9/11 "Moms" (Latest name is "The Jersey Girls) I had planned, I will lead you through a maze until either you or I get exhausted. That way you can get a feel of what the Left is doing and how they do it. In case you are wondering, they learned their tunneling craft from the Communists of the 30s, 40s and 50s More than a few of these "cause" groups are Communists, and they have plenty of money from foundations, instead of Moscow.

Everybody has a right to be whatever they want to be Left or Right. We all know Limbaugh is Right, Franken is Left, and so on. They hide from nobody. The 9/11 "Moms" are an entirely different matter. They are a throwback to the "Popular Front" days of the Communist Party USA. The Communists were particularly adept at hiding behind "Popular Fronts". The technique has always been the same: throw up a picture of George Washington, Jesus Christ, or Abraham Lincoln, come up with a great sounding name for your organization, (preferably contianing words like Mom, Patriot, Heritage etc.) and then launch Communist propaganda and raise money to fund some awful stuff. That was Communist Plots for Dummies. It's different now.

III "MODERN" POPULAR FRONTS

The 9/11 "Moms" are a popular front. Hiding behind that name and "Families for Peaceful Tomorrows" they are attacking the Administration, the wars in both Afghanistan and Iraq, and supporting many terrorist organizations by raising money and donating the money to "causes". These "causes" will in turn donate to someone else who will donate to someone else who will donate back to the original donor. Get it?. The string of "donations" can be as long as fifty organizations. Nobody knows the source of the money. Drug cartel, anyone?

"Fungible" is the operative word in any discussion of money donated to these kinds of groups. When we say the funds are "fungible" we mean that when donations are made for flood relief it allows money already allocated for flood relief inside the organization to be "switched" to something else. All of us are familiar with what the 9/11 funds did with money that was supposed to go to families. That was stealing. Money that went to the Red Cross for 9/11 relief meant that money already inside the Red Cross designed for disasters like that suddenly became available for things like salaries, symphony orchestras in Brooklyn, and abortion mills. The Red Cross donations were "fungible".

The 9/11 "Moms" or "Families for Peaceful Tomorrows" is not just a group formed to agitate our government to find the "truth" about 9/11. It is a front for raising money to be "donated" to other places. All Left. All against the Bush Administration. Against the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Some go to back to far Left groups like The Tides Foundation (which gave them money) which in turn will fund "moveon.org" (Bush is Hitler ads).

Tides is funded by people like Maria Teresa Thierstein Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry, the one with the billion bucks to throw around. Tides in their turn have funded Peaceful Tomorrows to the tune of millions.

I'd like to call these organization "Daisy Chain" fronts. The long chain of incestuous connections can stretch through a maze of fifty or more "fronts" all having one thing in common; they are against any capitalism, against almost all democratic government that isn't Marxist, and they dislike America a lot. Recipients of "fungible donations" go to fronts like Democracy Now, an organization that wants to stop the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) which is part of NAFTA. Remember money that goes to the "Moms" can end up there. Money from Tides can end up with the "Moms" and be passed through the Daisy Chain. The sheer number of connecting groups will exhaust investigators. Families for Peaceful Tomorrows (9/11 Moms) send a rep bearing their name to the Institute for Healing of Memories, in partnership with the Desmond Tutu Leadership Academy in South Africa. This Healing of Memories is another front claiming: goals that are an exploration of "anger, hatred, shame and guilt, and the journeys toward forgiveness, healing and wholeness" ? topics which supposedly resonate with Peaceful Tomorrows' mission to seek effective, nonviolent solutions to terrorism (against wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and wars against Terror), while acknowledging a common experience with all people similarly affected by violence throughout the world. Get the complexity? Oh, and they boo Condeleeza Rice at the 9/11 hearings.

IV HOW THEY TRY TO DODGE CONNECTIONS

When accused by the New York Post, Wall Street Journal, and FOX News of receiving money from the Left Wing Tides Foundation the "9/11 Moms" issued a single statement with two conflicting paragraphs; one denying getting money from Tides Foundation, and the second admitting getting money from Tides. Keep in mind the term "fungible" in the second paragraph
1. "Peaceful Tomorrows has no connection with the Heinz or Kerry families through Tides Foundation, the Tides Center or any other entity. Nor does Peaceful Tomorrows endorse any candidate for any political office. (In fact, they are almost an arm of the DNC)

2. Peaceful Tomorrows has been a not-for-profit project of the Tides Center since July of 2002. (The one they have "no connection" with) As our fiscal sponsor, the Tides Center provides administrative and financial services (there's the fungible) that allow the staff and membership of Peaceful Tomorrows to focus on work related to our mission. We raise money for our own work and we pay Tides Center 9% of those funds in exchange for vital services such as invoice payment, tax services, and insurance.
So they get money from Tides and give money back to them. In the normal world of the rest of us this is called a "kickback", "commission" or "vig". Lots of luck figuring out the net. The 9/11 Moms are clearly involved in Left Wing politics and fund raising.

V TENTACLES

The 9/11 Moms have done other things. The "Moms" support legislation to repeal sections of the USA Patriot Act. Using money and good will they get from using their "plight" one of them went to Afghanistan to apologize for our actions there and offering solace. The Wall Street Journal ran a piece containing the following:
What we have, instead, are politically motivated activists standing willingly as a "front" organization for the Democratic Party. They've traded on the press's reluctance to question their motives, hoping for a free run to impugn Mr. Bush every time he discusses terrorism from now until the election. Families for Peaceful Tomorrows is hardly alone; scratch the surface and many of the other groups and individuals making a fuss have similar ties.
The New York Post took a healthy swipe at the poor "Moms" too. After pointing out that the group had at most only two dozen members and represent no more than 1/100 of the families of 9/11, The Post also stated that besides a "far left agenda and a festering hatred" of the Bush Administration the "Moms".....:
....group was formed specifically to oppose the entire War on Terror: Not just the campaign against Saddam Hussein, but also the toppling of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Indeed, the group's leaders traveled to Afghanistan, drawing a detestable moral equivalence between the 9/11 attacks and U.S. bombing of the Taliban and opposing "violent responses to terrorism."
Then, before the onset of Operation Iraqi Freedom, a Peaceful Tomorrows delegation went to Baghdad to "demonstrate solidarity" with Iraqis - a move that Saddam's deputy, Tariq Aziz, termed at the time "a very important international development."
Ain't the Moms terrific? This self designated "victim group" then set out to smear the Soldiers and Marines in combat. The 9/11 Moms demanded that Congress set up a $20 million fund to compensate Afghan "victims" of the U.S. military. Any doubt about the connection to the DNC should be put to rest with this, again from the Post...
......back in January 2003, the group (Moms) said had it had gotten a "verbal commitment" to the fund proposal from the junior senator from Massachusetts - John F. Kerry
Now you see just a part of the labyrinth of inter- related incestuous funding of this particular Left Wing "Popular Front" group.

VI SUGAR DADDIES AND TRUST FUND BABIES

But it gets better. The "Moms" have a sugar daddy. That sugar daddy is none other than the wifey-poo of Democratic Presidential candidate, John (Heinz) Kerry. Now Maria Teresa Thierstein Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry ain't giving no money to a bunch of pissing and moaning widows. Unless those widows support her hubby and are Left.

Now wifey-poo ain't stupid. She isn't going get caught giving these whining phonies any money directly. So a few of her THREE foundations send "fungible" money to another foundation called The Tides Foundation . Since this is all foundation to foundation, the true sources of the "donations" are secret. George Soros? Barbra Streisand? Oil for Food? Nobody knows. Money comes from Heinz and is "donated" to Tides. Tides also gets lots and lots of other money. It has been described as money laundering for fake charaties. The money is effectively laundered before distribution. She donates to Tides and Tides donates to "The Moms". Is the donation really from Maria Teresa Thierstein Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry? She says "no". The Post again....
A spokesman for Kerry insists that her donations to Tides were earmarked specifically for environmental charities based in Pennsylvania. But money is fungible - and the Tides Foundation has a lot more than greening the earth on its plate.
Tides is as Left as Left can be. It has given millions to anti-war groups since 9/11 - particularly the extremist MoveOn.org., they of the Hitler is Bush ads and so on. Tides has funded groups like United for a Fair Economy, which has been involved in violent anti-globalization street protests.

One example of Teresa Inc.. funding would be a group called The Ruckus Society. These guys trashed Seattle back in 1999. Teresa etc. also funds the Ruckus training of enviro-terrorists in the practice of "monkey-wrenching" - the willful destruction of construction equipment and so on. Thanks Teresa. Tides also gets money from Soros who has made defeating Bush his Job One.

The only job of The Tides Foundation is to distribute other foundations' money while shielding the identity of the actual donors. A Drug Cartel for Leftist ideology.

I'm tired now and I'm sure you are too but this is just ONE phony group funded by the Left. In this case the MOMS are also directed by a uber Left guy named Fenton who......etc., etc., etc.,

Oh, and for a more detailed view of Mrs. Kerry's daisy chain of connections, go HERE to the Human Events article......

Homework Assignment
1. Do a Google search for Families for Peaceful Tomorrows.
2. Smoke a J and watch the Spice Channel
3. Very late add on April 19 Front Page hits lots of these "charitable fronts" today.

Gas tax as espoused by the usual upper middle class who either take subways or live in cities where daily car travel is not necessary.

1. This is the ultimate tax on the poor and low income people. Not only will they be kicked out of their cars (the goal of the elite) their other means of transportation will rise in price exponentially.

2. The handicapped that must use cabs or shuttles will find fares doubling. Ambulances, emergency vehicles, police cars and so on will raise other taxes on us, the poor dopes.

3. Cab fares will go up by at least 1/3.

4. Bus fares will do the same, but will be exempted from the tax.

5. By far the worst for the rest of us will be the huge increase in freight costs. These costs will wreck the economy, increase the cost of food by 25%, and every product of every kind that is sold in stores.

Sullivan and his ilk should stick to homosexuality, something they know about.

We have to make it very expensive for Iran but how? I suggest we only have one card to play and that is the same card they are playing: send agents back into Iran the same way they send their agents into Iraq. This is a brutal government with a record of casual murder. They kill their own with impunity. See Iran, if You've Seen The Godfather You Understand.

My response to the Michael Ledeen WSJ editorial was published on their site. I have always respected him, but as you know I have consistently said that revolution by unarmed kids against a total thugocracy that is armed to the teeth and not afraid to murder is impossible.
Revolt in Iran? We are not dealing with a collapsing Soviet Union here. Iran is rich, it has a huge internal police force, and the corruption from the top is spread to around a million people who are armed to the teeth and will fight to the death to maintain their stations. A bunch of kids without guns won't cut it.

We have bitten into a pineapple with our dentures and are wondering how anybody can eat a pineapple thanks to the Beltway experts: Rumsfeld/CIA/FBI. But the buck stops with those really responsible...(check one: Laura Bush; Jamie Gorelick; Jimmy Carter; Barbra Steisand). Our president is never at fault.
The actual letter is HERE together with other responses.

WHY THE RIOTS IN IRAQ?

The Turks, Kurds, Armenians, and us..... Written in response to replies to my comments at Roger L Simon.

The Middle East is a part of the world where a minor personal insult to a family issued 1,500 years ago is still remembered as if it happened yesterday. Revenge for the insult is still required. When Armenians think about the slaughter of up to 1.5 million Armenians only eighty years ago their rage and thirst for revenge is right at the surface. This genocide actually grows in the consciousness of Armenians by the day. Anger runs higher right now than at any time since 1925. Who did the slaughter? That has not really been a question, because most of written history says the Kurds did it. Proof, as in hard evidence just now coming to light, now says the Turks were responsible.

In the Genocide Memorial Museum (built by the Russians to cause trouble) in Yerivan, the capital of Armenia, there is a document issued by a top Turkish official by the name of Talaat Pasha ordering the elimination--by whatever means necessary---of Armenians from Ottoman lands. The Kurds took up the offer and through another sub-contractor, their irregulars called the Hamodieh, murdered up to 1.5 million Armenians. The corpses were stacked on shelves inside of buildings in almost every town or hung by their necks along the roadsides for as far as the eye could see. These Armenians had lived there for 1,000 years before the Turks arrived. They were slaughtered just for territory. All of North East Turkey was once Anatolia, part of the Armenian country. It had been that way for 1,000 years before the Turks "solved the problem."

The Armenians are not going gently into that sweet night. In May 1992, after the Russian occupation was over, Armenians killed every Kurd standing in the Lachin Corridor. Like "We're baaaaaaakkk!"

Now let's get truly Byzantine, after all that is where we are.

The Kurds and Turks hate each other going back a thousand or so years. Kurdish guerillas still operate in Turkey. Even worse for the Turks is the fact that the population of southern Turkey is largely Kurdish and they are a threat to take over that part of the land. Remember now, the Kurds know the truth about the genocide too.

Next know that for 85 years turkey has wanted to take over the oil fields outside of Mosul in Northern Iraq, the territory now controlled by the Kurds. And the bad old U.S.A.

Syria hates Turkey and the Turks hate Syria.

Syrians support the Kurds.

There is also a five hundred year old Turkish hatred of the Arabs. Street dogs in Turkey are called Arabs. And, and.....

Oh yeah, the Turks are Sunni. Like in the Sunni Triangle in Iraq. The Turks would support them with money and arms. If they could.

And the Jews? Turkey has made lots of deals with Israel, mainly to keep the Syrians and Iranians pissed off. A tactic that has worked.

Byzantine enough for you? Yes? OK, now we get to something entirely Western-Byzantine.

"And God said, "Bring on the Lawyers." Because the really Big Dog in this game is Armenian demands for reparations, like in billions of dollars worth. Now that proof is available that rich rich Turkey with hundreds of billions in their treasury is responsible, the Armenian demands are going through the courts. Turkey wants to remove all proof. They dare not go after Arminia now. Turkey would invade Northern Iraq in a micro-second to kill as many Kurds as possible AND take over the oil fields. The Kurds in southern Turkey are armed and a constant threat to the now Islamic government in Ankara.

We ain't done in Iraq by a long shot.

Air America back on the air in ChiTowne
Yesterday, a New York State Supreme Court Justice, Marylin G. Diamond, issued a restraining order requiring WNTD/950AM to resume broadcasting the Air America Radio network feed.
I think Jane Gault had it close to right. George Soros is not running out of money. It does seem that Air America was about as ethical as the rest of the Left, but that's the way you better learn to deal with the Left if you are going into business with them. I still say that there is simply too much real talent willing to go on this network to write it off. There are also a lot of conservatives who are going on too. Take a look around, starting with Frankin. This is a totally Left bunch of comics preaching to their choir and they have a large one. They have the usual Left token Black, no Asians, no Hispanics, but the operative word there is "yet". I don't think there is a Hollywood Lefty who won't contribute material.

On "nuance", "parsing" and just trying to find out what the fuck our government is saying about our pal Osama bin Laden and his "voice". If you will note, every single evaluation from CIA is parsed. It "appears", "sounds like", "is the same voice as on prior tapes", and other non-confirmations of the actual voice. It's my opinion that he's dead and has been dead for a long time but that keeping him in the public consciousness serves the Admistration's war goals. I cannot believe that this media hound wouldn't be on al Jazeera posing for holy pictures or appearing on The Apprentice angling for a job if he was alive.

On the off chance you haven't been to Reynolds for this on Gorelick. Get her out of there.

FLASH!! 9/11 commission fixes blame for attack. Laura Bush was negligent. Republicans point finger at Barbra Streissand...........Developing

The 9-11 Commission implodes and is there anybody, Left or Right, that thinks this totally out of control committee will be believed, no matter what the conclusions? From the moment Tom Daschle, the most partisan of partisans, placed the Democratic pit bull lawyer Ben-Veniste on the committee everybody knew it could go only one way. Gorelick makes the committee a cover up apparatus for her. And that lout Kean needs to be removed too. Another factor in this "non partisan fact finding" hunt is that this committee is overloaded with Congressional types eager to blame the Executive branch (Clinton and Bush) for their own negligence involvement.

When TV News actually gets some facts they don't post them in writing on their websites. Two examples: Steve Forbes and somebody else who is very smart laid some interesting tax stuff on the table yesterday on the now relegated to hell Kudlow and Cramer. One of them made the statement based on his view that the total of taxes paid by the very very rich has gone down dramatically and proved it. Forbes had a differenent conclusion and proved it. Were this in writing it would be dammed interesting. The second is the FOX site which blacks out its own shows. O'Reilly did a point by point expose of the 9-11 "moms" connection to Left Wing propaganda groups; not a single word of which is on the FOX website. Cable News is getting a free ride on libel laws. Either they are factually false, or not. Cable news? Cable fiction? I report, you decide

I think I'll get on the Republican train, at least until the next stop.... Mike over at Cold Fury has some interesting writing up. The lead commentary is basically the way I feel, only I'm on the Republican train for now and may get off at the next stop. Take a look over there, it's pretty good. He links to the best piece of writing I've seen in one hell of a long time.

After a week of touchy feely Right Wing Liberal vacation induced good puppy tail wagging Kim duToit is back in form calling for ritual slaughters, firing squads, and trial by hanging.

Mozilla 1.6 was so unstable I went back to 1.4. Slowed me to a crawl, couldn't get onto sites without a twenty second delay, and so on. The problems with Mozilla is that they release stuff that isn't ready. 1.4 is still light years ahead of MSIE.

THOMAS KEAN SHOULD JOIN GORELICK ON THE TRASH HEAP

Thomas Kean, the chair of the 9/11 committee, the former governor of Mafiaville (New Jersey) is telling us to mind our own business when it comes to HIS committee. Well fuck him. Being governor of New Jersey is like being head of the Oil for Food Program. The most corrupt state in the union. The Committee is OUR business, asshole. His statement: " "People ought to stay out of our business. ... " is a disgrace. He presides over this circus of preening narcissistic headline grabbing fakes and he should be fired. Gorelick should be tried for treason. Janet Reno should be in Federal Prison. That commission is not a joke. It's not funny. It's pathetic and Kean is its pathetic chairman.

Rise in first time jobless claims probably mean a growing economy with a lot of jobs out there. Lots of people who had left the work force either to start their own businesses or work for cash are now trying to get back to work in their specialty. Want ads for jobs are up strongly, important as hell because those ads cost money and open firms to phony suits by minorities and women. First hires these days are old employees, then "off the street" from signs outside of businesses. Neither of those methods leaves an employer open to all the phony victim group discrimination law suits. When employers advertise and post jobs at the Employment Offices you know they need the workers and have to go after them. Take a look at your local paper.

IF.....

.....we had an honest press the Bush press conference "questions" asked by our "free press" would not have come from the DNC playbook. The thing wrong with this, besides showing the press is totally corrupt, is that Bush was totally ready for every question. The result of the "press conference" is that Bush looked really good. And the press, as usual, looked like a bunch of DNC hacks.

Well, I guess they ARE a bunch of DNC hacks. Late add: Peggy Noonan has a much wider evaluation of both Bush and the "Propaganda Establishment" that is well worth reading. She is NOT a partisan hack:
But here the press came to his rescue, and God bless them. They are so clearly carrying water for the left-liberal establishment, they were so clearly carrying water for the preening and partisan hacks who dominate the 9/11 commission, and the Washington Post's coverage of the news conference yesterday morning was so clearly teeing up Bob Woodward's next book, that the media nullified their hostility. They could have done some damage to the president with a grave and honest spirit of inquiry.
Read the whole thing, not very flattering toward Bush.

IF....

...we had an honest press we would know that the reason both 9/11 committee hack Gorelick and Janet Reno built the "wall" higher was that both were trying to stop any investigation into the Clinton\Gore campaign abuses. If you will remember, Clinton was getting contributions from foreign sources who hid their identities behind fake names. The heat was on and both Clinton and Gore were facing a Republican Congress. The FBI could not look at the foreign corruption and the CIA could not send what they knew to the FBI and that made Clinton/Gore safe. "Fuck the security of the country, we have to save our Bill." One can say that Gorelick is a Clinton lap dog and Reno was her "handler"; they are a pair of criminals. This is clear but you won't read about it in our "free press".

Jane Gault thinks that Air America may not be at fault. After all George Soros had his bucks there and Soros is hardly broke. She may be right because something isn't right about the story.

4/14/2004

Italy should either withdraw their troops or triple the number they already have in Iraq. The status quo will cause more hostage deaths.

LGF completely "outs" Rachel Corrie, an advocate of terrorism and the latest Designated Victim for the Left.

Dick Morris is usually wrong about elections, but he has very good takes. He says that Jamie Gorelick is more responsible for 9/11 than anyone in government. I agree and she should be tossed from the 9/11 committee. Anything the committee comes up with is tainted by this incompetent old lady. Morris who was a Clinton advisor, meaning follow the polls baby, thinks Bush was too macho and should follow the polls and be mealy mouthed so he can appeal to women. Just the messenger.

Public response to the phony "victims" of 9/11 who cheer at the hearings and appear endlessly on TV to whine and blame Bush for the attacks can be seen HERE. As I said in a prior post, I'm sorry they lost their husbands, they collected millions from me, and shut the fuck up. Everybody, it seems, feels the same way.

Senator George Allen of Virginia is on board supporting Iranian freedom.

Air America schadenfreude and all us right wing fascist freaks are happy at their failure. They stiffed their stations with more than a million dollars in bad checks. What seems to be the problem is that they tried to buy the airtime first before selling any time to sponsors, a typical welfare state approach. Remember, their big funding came from Hollywood where NOBODY risks anything. They always look for some sucker to fund whatever they do. They all take money in front and let the investor sweat it out. Markets are foreign territory. I still think this could have worked IF they let the dam thing grow from small to big, which means all that Hollywood shit Left would have to work for minimum wage til they actually achieved something, like actually having an audience. NPR has all the totally Left Wing people sewed up and I don't know where they can "grow" an audience. Bad checks IS sort of a liberal way to do it. Smoking Gun has all the goodies including an Air America effort to sue the people who they stiffed with bad checks totaling over a million dollars. I just love Liberals.

The Belmont Club exposes more about France than you may want to know.

Simmons has a lot up today including an interesting graph showing phone service and electric power in Iraq. But the best part of the site, and the only starting point is HERE.

Go here for a complete outing of Teresa Heinz etc. and all her money, left wing ties, and potential political corrupter. Link from Terpsboy who sometimes is too funny for his, and our, good. He links from a picture of Teresa saying "I Don't give a shit. I'm rich", so you might have assumed there was just comedy at the end. This is a total outing of the bitch. Read it.

Bush Involved in Pearl Harbor Coverup????

9/11 Commission wants to know what Bush knows about Pearl Harbor attack Jamie Gorelik presented a bombshell document before America today. A letter she just received from the grand daughter of War Criminal Japanese Prime Minister Tojo is clear evidence. It seems that the elder Bush had always wanted to explore the oil possibilities in Indonesia and had used the war to get a free ride to the Pacific. Gorelick and Ben-Veniste are demanding proof from the White House that the charge from Tojo's relatives are not true. Ben-Veniste claims the Tojo files indicate the elder Bush was AWOL and only pretending to be away fighting the Japanese; instead he was exploring for oil. His medals were made by the Haliburton company. Stay tuned, the 9/11 commission is red hot.

Bulletin U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan said yesterday that the violence and anarchy sweeping Iraq will prevent the UN from entering. In other words with the fucking Americans there the UN can't steal the billions necessary to justify the risk. We get it Kofi.

Kill Rumsfeld ad withdrawn but it still might be Tarrantino's next movie after "Kill Bill 3". Stay tuned for more of that wonderful Liberal thinking.

THE SPEECH; First, let's deal with some Lefty smoke which is always spouted by the Left Press in these "conferences".

1. "Mercenaries in Iraq" is another example of the sleepy White House and Republican Party in general. The response to the initial charge made by the Left elite should have been instant. Everybody knows the Media will pick up every Democratic charge and blast it all over the country. Fact: the "mercenaries" include all the support including cooks, all transportation, guarding the oil fields, guarding the "press", and tons of other support needed so we can free up troops for combat. The 20,000 support people have now become "mercenaries" because the stupid Republicans allowed Hillary and the boys to define it so. Bush didn't explain this.

2. The "statement then question" format allows us to see the Left tactics from the core Left news people. It was clear from the "reporters" that the Left agenda now is to get the administration to "apologize" like that great patriot Richard Clarke did. This will be a campaign theme. It also looks like the "Viet Nam" thing has worn out; from the questions asked it seems like the Left will switch to blaming Bush completely for 9/11.

We have to take Bush at his word. We are in Iraq to create a free society. The result of a free society will be a more secure U.S.
Iraq will either be a peaceful democratic country or it will again be a source of violence, a haven for territory, and a threat to America and to the world. By helping secure a free Iraq, Americans serving in that country are protecting their fellow citizens.
A by product of this "freedom" will be the abandonment of terror by other countries and he named Lybia as an example. He named Pakistan as a friend without mentioning Mushariff, (in order to save the guy's life) and Afghanistan.

Does Iraq really want freedom or do they really want a Muslim state? We will see. Bush has to walk a narrow line in order to run for office while fighting a war. He cannot give the Left any more ammunition than the clearly partisan 9/11 commission already has. He cannot publicly state that the real problem is the Muslim religion. He cannot wax philosophical about the history of the Middle East on national TV. He cannot talk about the hopelessly corrupt UN and the thieves in Russia, France, and Germany. He was not asked about North Korea so the Left doesn't want that on the table. He wasn't asked about the North Korea, China, weapons feed into the Middle East, nor was he asked about our wonderful "allies", which could mean that the Left doesn't want to talk about the corrupt bastards.

All in all I feel he said all he could say without ruffling the feathers of our "allies" and giving the Left an excuse to attack him. Taking Bush at his word, we are only in Iraq to create (impose) a free society. I thought this was a good moment for our President. He did a good job.

THE CHINA BUBBLE?

Wilbur Ross, one of the savviest investors on the planet, now getting involved deeply into nanotech is very wary on China and how they keep their books. He says that phony loans are made from banks to textile mills, the mills take the money knowing they can't and won't pay the money back, then the government steps in and squares the books. He thinks this may be going on in lots of places. This casts doubt on the "trade deficit" reported by China yesterday. Like I've said, so much calculation about stocks and value include the "Chinese Miracle"???? you better be careful. This sounds like the old Communist money black hole in the Soviet Union. Be very wary because this giant may be floating with the assist of hot air. The French keep fake books, the Germans "fudge", and the Communists have always flat lied.

Current Pipes Piece Will Adjust your Thinking

"The current insurrection in Iraq was discernable a year ago, as I already noted in April 2003" This from PIPES today a must read. This guy is no Democrat, no Kerry snake in the grass.
"Thousands of Iraqi Shiites chanted "?No to America, No to Saddam, Yes to Islam" a few days ago, during pilgrimage rites at the holy city of Karbala. Increasing numbers of Iraqis appear to agree with these sentiments. They have ominous implications for the coalition forces."
A little later, PIPES again
For Muslims, rule by non-Muslims is an abomination, a blasphemous inversion of God's dispensation
Read the entire thing, what he proposes is getting the fuck out of there and leaving a Muslim strong man. I wrote the same thing over a year ago, but Pipes is twice as smart as me and supplies deeper historical meaning. Read it. He is tops.

The Democratic Total Hate Machine strikes in Florida. Be sure to link to The Drudgester right HERE calling for the assassination of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. They and the paper should be charged. But Liberals have that special Right nobody else has. The actual ad may jam your computer unless you have a lot of RAM. I have 256 and had trouble with it. They don't exactly ask for money to fund the assassination, but they come close. Late add Simmons has posted the complete ad. Even here it has loading problems but you will get the ad quickly. He quotes Drudge so it's not stealing. The Drudgester always gets it first.

The much touted (Sullivan, Reynolds, the usual suspects) links to Iranian blogs on Buzz Machine are, as usual, total bullshit by people who haven't bothered to check the links. His "links" are almost all shut down. The links on the left on my blog are current but no guarantee is made that they aren't Iranian government blogs. As far as I can figure, anybody who blogs from Iran has been killed or shut down. Keep that in mind when searching for "real news" from inside Iran. BTW Reynolds links today to the NRO post on Gorelick I linked to yesterday. She should be a witness not an investigator. Further proof that the entire Republican party is as clueless as our president MAY be.

Here's the real deal----From an old Herb Meyer essay.
"Okay, it's time to say out loud what a lot of us who support the war on terrorism have been saying among ourselves: President Bush is doing a great job fighting the war — but a lousy job explaining it. And his inability to explain this war in a convincing, persuasive way is starting to erode support among Republicans and, worse, starting to give Democrats and foreigners who want us to lose this war — yes, that really is what they want — the kind of ammunition they need to gain traction.
Many of us have been saying this for almost a year. Jesus, we are cursed with a wartime president who can't explain it. Meyer again:
"Our cultural environment is Western Civilization. This is who we are. And today, Western Civilization is under siege. We are under attack from Radical Islam – that's the War on Terrorism. We are under attack from those within the US itself who seek to destroy our traditional culture and our moral values – from those who believe the State is more important than the family or the individual.
Keep in mind that Western Civilization has been kicked out of almost every college curriculum. In those universities where it is offered as an elective it is more than likely taught by an American hating Leftist or Communist. Where Caesar Chavez is just as important as slave owning pigs like Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and Alexander Hamilton.

Houston, we've got some fucking problems. Mainly the American Left, abetted by a president who lacks even rudimentary communication skills. As I asked yesterday, can you imagine JFK, FDR, or Reagan mumbling platitudes while guys are dying?

The Spanish gutlessness in caving to terrorists now emboldens terrorists to kidnap Italians and threaten Italy. Make no mistake, the terrorists believe all of Europe is their lap dog---or else. Spain proved it. Or did it? We will see.

These hearings are iron clad proof that the Republicans are a joke. How can the party that controls the White House and both houses of congress allow this partisan democratic broadside to happen? Only if you have a clueless Republican Party from top to bottom. They were out of congressional power for sixty years for a good reason: they have no leadership qualities, no principals, and no knowledge whatsover of government. They don't belong in power, they belong back home in the minority throwing bombs at the Democrats. The mere act of allowing partisan hacks like Ben-Veniste and Gorelick on the committee without having Republican dobermans on the committee as well proves their mass incompetence.

Finally the top people are saying we need more troops in Iraq. This is going to bite Rumsfeld and Bush in the ass because top people have said this from the start as I commented on last week. It is clear that the Army was right, the bozos were right, and Rumsfeld was wrong. The reporting from Iraq is all the lazy fucks reporting from Baghdad instead of risking their lives reporting from other places. It seems that this indeed was Tet Reporting converting riots into a civil war and an uprising ("popular revolt"-Webster) that wasn't. The Falujah thing was an insurrection by Baathist remnants. We don't have the troops to handle this. Unless the Iraqis themselves decide they want democracy enough to fight for it, this thing will end as another Muslim Cleric dictatorship (see my April 03 essay) sponsoring terrorism, becoming terrorist, and getting WMDs from Iran. Bush could easily be toast because this is entirely his show. He can't blame Clinton for Iraq. Our intel, as well as the intel from all other countries, will remain poor. I hope you read not just my essay, but ALL the links from Herb Meyer at NRO. He is the best. It was he who spotted the economic decay of the Soviet Union when nobody else saw it. He tells the hows and whys of "spying".

4/12/2004

Good old Niccolo Machiavelli has the answers. Nicco observed that "it is as difficult to bring freedom to a people accustomed to tyranny as it is to crush freedom in a free society." Tyranny is older than freedom and all freedom has come from tyranny. From bad art comes good art. If you didn't link to Ledeen last week, go there now. It's a good piece. And of course Ledeen spotted the links to Iran more than a month ago but nobody but right wing rags paid attention to him.

Short notes on markets As I've always said, a trade deficit is a sure sign of prosperity. Any doubts about the properity of China should be put to rest today as they are showing a trade deficit, which only means that their citizens have money and are spending it. All this screaming about trade deficits from the Liberal Media Elite is just bullshit designed to make Bush look bad.

Second: this week about 300 companies report profits. This is IN THE MARKET. A suprise will be to the downside. Gold and silver are flying because of Iraq.

IRANIAN BLOGGERS and very few independents are still up and running
Unless Washington can delicately finesse its confrontation with the Shiite cleric Muqtada Sadr, President Bush could become the war president whose blindness to the political complexities in postwar Iraq created an Islamic republic in the country.
From an Iranian blog called the eyeranian. An interesting read. Most of the old Iranian blogs have been shut down, or perhaps the bloggers have been arrested. Here is one guy still operating (View from Iran) who states flat out that we are losing support within Iran, a change from virtually total support. It may be that since he still blogs he's a mullah flunky.

DEBKA has a good map of the places where this (riot, rebellion, insurgency) is taking place. Incidents are very wide spread.

RIGHT WING BABE OF THE MONTH can be found here. It's all over for Kerry. Holy shit.

I'm so happy for Phil Mickelson, it's like I won. Churchill said it best when asked the secret of success: "Seven words. Never, never, never, never give up." A feel good story that many of us can feel in our souls. And on the day of Resurrection? Naw.

KERRY ON IRAQ? FUHGEDABOUDIT

While everyone is posturing right and left about "The Memo" there are two things we need to keep in mind.
1. The memo clearly warned about an impending attack somewhere on U.S. soil.
2. The president gets a hundred memos per day about something important. Q: Were there any other "memos"?

Sorry folks, but security is the president's first responsibility. I think when all is said and done the memo will be looked at as one of a thousand "important" documents and the public will give him a pass. People have used similar "warnings" when they have attempted to blame President Roosevelt for negligence regarding the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. I'd say that voter attitudes had plenty to do with both Bush and Roosevelt not being fully prepared. If you check "working class" newspapers in the six months before Pearl you will see that something awful about Japan is on the front page almost every day, yet the American public was totally opposed to going to war. Do the same before 9/11 and you will hardly ever see a word about bin Ladin; the American public wanted to party. Given those circumstances, both presidents "didn''t do enough". In Bush's case, his near total lack of communication skills regarding our purposes may sink him yet. This leads many of us to think that he may not know why we are there. The great communicators of the recent past, FDR, JFK, and Reagan would let us know exactly. Bush is not in their league, and the dead bodies pile up with no explanation as to why we are in Iraq, why it's important, and what is at stake. What would those former leaders be saying? I don't know but you can bet they'd be out front every day. And then we have the total silence of John Kerry.

The Ben-Veniste’s factor The public seems to have landed on this phony with a thud. His "question" asking for the title of the memo and only the title without divulging the content was so slimy that only a lawyer could come up with it. Just about everybody saw what the scumbag was trying to do, and it was not looking out for the future security of the country. In the strange way these things play out it may be the pond scum ethics of this reptilian Democrat that will get Bush a pass. In fact he, Kerry, and Gorelick (the woman former senator and long time Democratic partisan hack) look so much worse than Rice one can only ask who would you trust?

Good first entry on Sullivan today before going off into the usual gay crap. Worth reading and going to the links. If you've been put off by the constant fruitiness go there today. And a A must read today is Roger L Simon. Iran is a serious issue and his POV is right on target. He tells you to go HERE, and you should. Then blog roll it. I will later today.

The good old New York Times carries a good old Liberal editorial by Bob Kerrey. What shit. We should get our Muslim allies to help us. Hezbulla? PLO? The Saudis? Oh, I know: Iran. That's it Iran. Why didn't that fucking moron Bush think of Iran? With big brains like Maureen Dowd, Bob Kerrey, and Alfred E. Newman at the helm, the grey lady strikes.

Terpsboy has the inside scoop about the attack. And Kim duToit has a picture of the 21st highjacker. And where was the FBI?

A reprint of part of what I wrote quoting expert testimony regarding how many troops it would take to control Iraq. This testimony was given before the war. As this shakes out, it looks like an insurrection plus wide spread rioting. The "news" is slanted toward us losing as anyone who watched the "news conference" this AM will tell you. Constant "gotcha" questions to a combat general. From my piece:
Anybody remember a guy named Shinseki? The Army Chief of Staff who dared voice his opinion? He was the traitorous moron who told congress that "several hundred thousand U.S. troops would be needed to occupy Iraq." Rumsfeld got rid of him. He was called a Clintonite, Rumsfeldspeak for chickenshit liberal. Shinseki stuck to his guns til fired.

Another fucking moron, James Dobbins, director of RAND's International Security and Defense Policy Center and a former U.S. special envoy for Afghanistan, Kosovo, Bosnia, Haiti, and Somalia, said that 300,000-500,000 soldiers would be needed to do the job properly in Iraq. This incompetent asshole further stated that his estimates of 300,000-500,000 "derived from our experiences in Bosnia and Kosovo, based on the population density of the country. The best defense is a good deterrent, and the best deterrent is a visible, effective [law] enforcement force. New York City has 30,000 policemen, and that's a relatively peaceful area. Why would Baghdad be any different?"
It looks like this "riot/rebellion" took place because we don't have enough troops there to stop 10,000 people from arming themselves and planning a revolt. How the hell can you miss 10,000 people? It's easy if nobody is there to watch. As for the futility of "intel" be sure to read "Our Bad Intel. It Won't get Any Better" as well as the links to NRO.

On this very confusing news day be sure you visit some blogs from inside Iraq. My newspaper shows Viet Nam redux

There was a Kerry for President haiku contest somewhere. They sent my stuff back to me.

Ketchup stains on my tie
I smile at my wife
While soldiers die

The Jews keep telling me
to stop eating my wife
She looks like a pig

President Bush
makes me sick
My limo driver wants a raise

If my wife
was poor
Botox stock would collapse

Don't forget
I served in Viet Nam
I want to fuck Jane Fonda

Fighting for peace
Fucking for chastity
Voting for Kerry

A twelve hour day
back breaking work
Marrying for love has its downside

I saw Jesus
give me the finger
While taking communion on Easter

Movie notes: took some teens to see The Alamo (one of them is doing a paper on the Mexican-American War). THEY wanted to leave before the ending. A real Hollywood Left piece of shit. Every American is bad. This is balanced to show that every Mexican as bad.

Biggest movie line by far was for Passion; it will have another huge weekend.

Sony "optioned" the Clarke book. Understand that I've had at least four projects optioned in my life. Option simply means Sony gave Clarke some money while they "think about it" for a period of time (usually 90 days to a year)while they sniff the environment. I just won't buy Sony stock and I won't buy their products. You do what you want to do. The Hollywood Left is out to write history that attacks this country and especially the Bush Administration. They are willing to lose a hundred million dollars of shareholder money to do this while they all take multimillion dollar salaries from the same shareholders up front before one foot of film is in the can. Hollywood actors, directors, producers, and writers are brave; our soldiers are cowards.

Opening scene:

WIDE SHOT.TWO LANE ROAD.CAR IS SEEN HURTLING TOWARD US FOLLOWED BY A POLICE CAR WITH RED LIGHTS FLASHING AND SIREN SCREAMING.
CUT TO: Car pulled over with COP getting out of car with gun drawn approaching the DRIVER.
ANOTHER ANGLE FEATURING DRUNKEN DRIVER
CLOSE SHOT.DRUNKEN YOUNG GEORGE W. BUSH FALLING OUT OF CAR.
FREEZE ON THE DRUNKEN FUTURE PRESIDENT FOR AT LEAST TWO MINUTES WHILE CREDITS ROLL

I'm waiting for some option money on this.

THIS MOVIE JUST OPENING IN LA

RECTUMA

"The Terror Lurking Behind you could be Your Own Behind"

"The Touching Story of an Unfaithful Wife, Her Lover, and the Huge Ass that Tore Them Apart"
It's from Pirromount Pictures. Playing at Laemmle Theatres, a big chain. I'm not lying. From the town that optioned Clarke's book. Go to the link for plotline.

AA next target of the anti-God police??? Got an e-mail from a Twelve-Step person who reported the following revolting news.
....my group has been meeting in the same public high school gym since 1981. A week ago our secretary said he'd been notified by the school that we might have to move because we were a "religious" group. Proof was in the Serenity Prayer said to open and close all meetings, and the display and sale of religious materials (The Big Book of AA).
This might be the opening salvo by the ACLU, the DNC, or just some atheist wacko but it's coming. AA meetings are held on public beaches here in SoCal, parks, and all kinds of "public facilities" that will be pressured to exclude them. Cities banned smoking. AA will be next. You heard it here first, well maybe not first but very early in this crusade to rid society of all vestiges of God.

"Colin and Condi, by the way...what sort of a Presidential ticket would those two make?" Bill Quick asks the question and responses are over at Daily Pundit. Just thinking about it makes me realize just how far we have come in this country. I mean that would be one hell of a ticket. I'm giggling just writing this. Holy shit, that would be really different. Earth shakingly different.

OUR BAD INTEL. IT WON'T GET ANY BETTER

We are faced with the reality of gathering intelligence from inside a tribal culture both in Iraq and the entire Middle East. This is why we are continually surprised by Muslim groups. Going back to WWII and the Cold War you will note that dam near every spy of note on both sides were people who turned against their own governments. Note the Burgess-Maclean "Cambridge Group" etc. in Britain and all the Hiss-Rosenberg etc. guys in the Roosevelt administration. We had many top Nazis and Kremlin people feeding us from inside their governments too. We had no actual spies crack those countries. We had racial similarities, language skills, and people who could easily assimilate into the cultures of both Germany and Russia who could spy, but no outside spies were able to get anywhere. We and they had handlers to work with the turncoats. I cannot recall any story of a U.S. spy penetrating Japan; we cracked their codes, not their political structure. We penetrate only with "handlers".

Think of a Muslim country where we have both physical dissimilarities and a serious language gap. It's not easy to find Westerners capable of putting on a show. The main impediment to "spying" is the nature of Muslim culture itself. Muslims marry within their extended family almost exclusively (cousins). They trust no one outside of their own families. They will kill any outsider who gets too close or nosey. This is extreme tribalism. It is impossible to crack these "tribes" from the outside. The only way we can get intelligence is to have somebody "turn". It seems that the pressure from inside the Muslim community is too great for this to happen.

Most every voter's approval of the castration of our own intel, starting with the Church Commission back in 1976 in order to rein in FBI activities that were clearly out of control at the time, is the problem. We, the voters, did not insist on looking at the FBI and CIA again. We made sure we had a weak intelligence service. It will take ten years minimum to get intel working on the ground within any Muslim Tribal Society. Somebody has to "turn" a person within a family in order to get reliable intelligence. Don't look for this to happen any time soon. We have a horrible reputation of running away and leaving people to die in torture chambers. And if Kerry or Hillary Clinton ever get elected that is just what will happen, and every highly placed Muslim knows this and spreads the word.

Muslim tribes throw in with each other under the banner of their religion to accomplish multi-tribal goals that are usually restricted to kicking somebody's ass. Robert Kaplan's must read book called "Eastward to Tartary" relates incident after incident where they were suddenly stopped by little local tribes armed to the teeth who wanted money. He pointed out that Muslim young men who had no money couldn't marry because of dowry requirements, and their religion forbad sex. They have no other way to express their manhood other than fighting and profiting from confrontation with outsiders. These "tribes" will only join with each other under the banner of religion, and then only for the purpose of violence. I'm afraid we are going to continue being "surprised" by Muslim tribes who join together for a time. That is their tradition.

There is another point, elequently stated on NRO this morning, by Herb Meyer who is THE intel expert of experts, who makes the point that intel is largely a function of "insight", of spotting what is obvious and connecting the dots. It's a good read. In fact if you do a search within NRO to his prior writing you will learn plenty.

Houston, we have a problem.

Allah has a really good and unfunny post today complete with links. The only thing I THINK is missing is the Russian tie in. I'm smelling old line Soviet supporting Iran and the insurgents.

I have nothing fresh to opine about the "hearings" other than I share O'Reilly's opinion that Clinton and Bush ignored what was happening, the FBI and CIA were forbidden by law from communicating with each other, and 9/11 could not have been prevented given the circumstances and mood of the country at the time. The endless speeches by those political jerk offs pisses me off too. And the "applause" from the "9/11 moms" was total bullshit. I hate to say this, but they've collected millions, I'm sorry their families were killed, but shut the fuck up.

Sometimes one fake picture says it all.....

The penultimate phony liberal "news" writing from the NY Times is here if you didn't already link to it from Drudge. We can only deduce from this journalistic butt licking that had Rice been white and a man the testimony would have been useless. Read it to find everything wrong with the New York Times, LA Times, big media "news".

4/8/2004

Intellectual fraud and political deception, this from the Muslim community. Read the entire Pipe's piece here Partial quote
Bagby's study of Detroit Muslims confirms an established pattern of survey research discerning estranged and radical political views among American Muslims.
Houston, we have a problem.... Kerry has the Muslim vote sewed up.

As I said yesterday, Condy Rice is smarter than any ten phony investigators put together.

I am a conservative Republican. I am not a whore or pimp for the party. I have a brain. I started this blog to tell the truth as I see it without fancy novelistic writing techniques. Just what I see. Today my first post is what highly placed people said before the Iraq War. The second is a selection of "truths" from eye witnesses who live and work in Iraq. Hope this helps all of us think.

FIRE THE COMMIE COCKSUCKER, HE DISAGREES WITH US

Tell ‘em what you think, get fired. Today the military admitted that large sections of Iraq were not under the control of the U.S. military. Partcularly the cities of Kut and Naj, now under Shiite control. They estimate that 40% of the country is not under U.S. control. Surprise!!!

Of course nobody listened to this commie cocksucker who had a lot of experience in occupation.

This shithead further stated, "We have found that the number of casualties is inversely proportional to the number of troops. In Bosnia, not one American or NATO soldier has been killed. In cases where we tried to minimize involvement, however--Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq--we have suffered attrition, and perhaps more seriously, we have had to inflict casualties on the population far out of proportion [to what's needed]. We're using sniper teams for law enforcement [in Iraq]. In Bosnia, the Serbs had an army: they had tanks, artillery, and reasons to hate NATO, but they were simply cowed by the numbers of soldiers on the ground."

The braniacs got rid of all these people and went ahead. You can figure out the rest.

"These days are much darker than the days of Saddam", from a family in Badhdad.

Be sure you click on the top three Iraq blogs to the left to get a feel of what three different people actually living in Iraq think. A sample:
"Remember the days when every time you hear an Iraqi talk on TV you had to remember that they are talking with a Mukhabarat minder looking at them noting every word? We are back to that place.
You have to be careful about what you say about al-Sadir. Their hands reach every where and you don't want to be on their shit list. Every body, even the GC is very careful how they formulate their sentences and how they describe Sadir's Militias. They are thugs, thugs thugs. There you have it.
I was listening to a representative of al-sadir on TV saying that the officers at police stations come to offer their help and swear allegiance. Habibi, if they don't they will get killed and their police station "liberated". Have we forgotten the threat al-Sadir issued that Iraqi security forces should not attack their revolutionary brothers, or they will have to suffer the consequences."
Get pissed. We have allowed this guy to literally become a second Saddam right under our noses. One has to ask what Bremmer is doing. How many of our top people have had their heads up their asses for the past year? Rumsfeld's empty pronouncements really sound bad now. And sooner or later we all have to face the hard fact that Bush is a horrible president not capable of leadership. This is happening on his watch (er vacation time) and only his. Here's another POV from Iraq at a Glance
Now we have a silly angry boy, thieves and idiots..!
Wow.. what a group!!
I’m afraid the world will say that Iraqis don’t deserve the liberation because of those people..
Here in Basra, few Muqtada’s men are preparing themselves, hiking among the people and in front of banks and shops waiting for another looting and robbery acts and spreading rumors about the situation in other provinces.. they say that the governmental institutes are robbed and everything lost..etc..trying to breach the peace.. some of them are carrying sacks to rob the bank if their ‘leader’ will succeed and control Iraq!!
Got the picture of this militia?!
Of course there’s no one channel can interview an educated Iraqi who dares to say all of that about this militia ..
I pulled this extrapolation from a long post in Healing Iraq
I was standing outside with neighbours yesterday afternoon gossiping when a car drove by, threw a couple of fliers at us, shouting "read them, may Allah increase your reward". The fliers were signed by a group which called itself Saif Allah Albattar (Allah's striking sword) at Ramadi, Fallujah, Adhamiya, and Diyala, which advised Iraqis to remain home on April 9th (the anniversary of the occupation), stating that they would not be responsible if anyone failed to do so. Someone else talked about another group called the Iraqi Islamic Army (groups like these seem to pop up every other day) which claimed its responsibility for the killings of the 4 Americans in Fallujah last week, decribing them as 'Jews'.
Once again we just sat back and allowed this to happen. According to Hammorabi, alJazeera is acting as an agent for both Iran and this nut case;finally there is this from A Family in Baghdad
They say that hospitals are full with injured and killed people.
Only god can protect us from what’s happening…
These days are much darker than the days of Saddam Husein.
Nice, huh? BTW, a Family in Baghdad is in both Arabic and English if you go there.

FACTS: We will stomp these "insurgents". Our military will prevail over any army in the Middle East. That is not the point.

Bush sits on his ass in Crawford. Does anyone remember Bush saying what this "war" is about? WMD is dead; national preservation is dead; and what we are left with is nothing FROM THE WHITE HOUSE. I'm sick of the platitudes of making Iraq a democracy. I doubt that will happen. Then what?

Sure, I think our purpose is to drive a major wedge between Iran and Syria, the two major terrorist countries in the Middle East now that Afghanistan is off the radar screen. Bush never says that. Our guys are dying now for nothing that any of us KNOW FOR SURE. We hear zippo from the guy who has to tell us, the President of Crawford. We cannot lose against this gang of bums, it's impossible. In fact we could knock off the whole country in two weeks. I'm a former grunt and as such I can tell you I never trusted anyone over the rank of corporal to tell me what was really going on. As I've gotten older I realize that nobody anywhere in the Military knows what's going on. I just feel for our guys being led by this president and his gang of clueless clods. Do you believe the bullshit coming from Rumsfeld? The same thing day after day. It's always, "this is the last desparate move by the terrorists." He's either a liar, or he flat doesn't know what is going on.

On to victory. Victory over "what" escapes me.

Iraq today......
What Would Judas Do?

Please link to this if you haven't already from Kim duToit and get ready to be super pissed, if you aren't already.

Mau Mauing the Conservative women. We all know that Rush is Right all the time but once in a while El Rushbo is correct too. The attacks on Condi Rice would never be made if she were not a black woman who is a conservative. Really think about that one. Do you think some left wing bitchette like Madeleine Albright, Hazel O'Leary, Alice Rivlin, or the total left wing enviro nut case Carol Browner would be hit like Rice is being hit? This is a Left Wing hit job and make no mistake about it. Only thing is Rice is smarter than any two Liberal assholes who will be trying to Mau Mau her tomorrow. She will smoke them.

Blacks once again vote against jobs and low prices or at least that is one way to look at the vote to block WalMart from building a store in Inglewood, CA. The store would have been built on a huge vacant lot that is now unused parking by a race track that allows other forms of gambling. WalMart would have given the minority population of the area very low prices and at least 1,400 jobs. The other side of this story is that WalMart is reaping what they sow. They pay half the union wage, supply no health coverage other than terribly expensive care the employee must pay for, and stories of management abuse that include firing employees who have health care coverage so they can lower their costs. That with some factual data that indicate that the virtually health care naked WalMart employees "go on the county" when sick because they can't go anywhere else; the rumored cost is $2,500 to every tax payer in Los Angeles County every time a WalMart employee gets sick.

It is also clear that WalMart did not bribe the usual suspects, Black politicians who were screaming about environmental impact. No environmental impact report is necessary for building on a vacant lot; traffic can't be worse than on race day and the Lakers played there for years drawing huge traffic crowds. The crooked Black politicos who are losing clout to Hispanics by the day, wanted bribes and they didn't get them.

Personal observation: it is not possible to live in Los Angeles on minimum wage or even $10 per hour. The "lost" jobs are entry level but most Blacks are seeking lifetime employment doing shit work for movie star wages. So as a lifetime job WalMart sucks. As an entry level job while you are looking for something else or while going to school it's great.

Bottom line: No WalMart, no jobs (lower paying or otherwise), and no low low priced outlet for poor people in the largely Black area. The existing high priced local businesses will continue to thrive by charging high prices. Watch WalMart build in the Mexican areas. And WalMart stock price? Up 1/4., maybe because they won't have to overstaff security to stop shoplifting at the Inglewood store. Very late add also posted in comments section of Kim dutoit I'm adding here because I have been out and passed a large WalMart. On the nearby properties I noticed something I had not considered. Here's what I noticed. Two fast food places; a Blockbuster Video, a car wash, a major discount sporting goods store (Their prices must be competitive or they couldn't exist there), a large bookstore, and three or four car repair places. All these were either on side streets next to WalMart or across the street. So blacks missed out on owning many good businesses there, jobs inside the places, and mechanics and body guys lost plenty of work.

WalMart may supply 1400 jobs INSIDE but the action they stir up provides a hell of a lot outside. Oh, and a sit down restaurant is opening in three weeks.

Iraq TV coverage in Los Angeles early AM is non-existent other than the much maligned CNN. FOX has these moronic FOX and Friends laughing and joking like fools, yukking it up about court cases, adultery of some soccer star, etc., while our guys die; they do no news at all. MSNBC has this bitter old man (Don Imus)who can do nothing but curse at Bush with no news at all other than his flunky reading four and five hour old newspaper articles to an audience; no shit, this fogged up "former" cocaine addict is what passes for news on MSNBC in the AM out here. So I'm watching CNN for the first time in a hell of a long time and they have actual news from embedded reporters. How FOX can continue any kind of ratings when they do "shows" instead of news is beyond me. As an aside, FOX when their laughing it up "personalities" actually lower themselves to actually do news, now seems more concerned with what the Iraqis think of us than kicking their asses. MSNBC has just stopped doing news. So when we get up in the morning out here we have a tough time finding out what is going on without risking the absorption of propaganda from CNN, who seem to be doing a very thorough job.

My take: we had no intel AGAIN. We "allowed" a nut case imam to arm 10,000 of his followers who now kill our guys in "surprise" attacks. Fox refers to the attack around Ramadi as a "sneak attack"; what bullshit. It was a sneak attack only because we AGAIN HAD NO INTEL and thus weren't ready in the middle of a war. But not to worry our peerless leader is leading from Crawford Texas in another example of the completely clueless Bush PR machine. The appearance of campaigning, vacationing, and doing nothing while our troops die is too stupid for discussion. Karen Hughes will make no difference to this tinned ear crowd, in fact she is probably just as clueless as the rest of them.

How can the president of the United States decide to stay on vacation during this terrible situation in Iraq? He really may be stupid. Yes, I am pissed off. Our guys deserve better than this crap. Recent acts of barbarism against Coalition forces in Iraq have revived an old and enormously important debate: Are these terrorists the products of fanatic tyrannies, or are the tyrannies the logical expression of the true nature of the peoples of the region? That question is answered very well HERE at NRO.
Hate to tell everybody, but in Los Angeles (second largest city in the US) CNN is the ONLY news station. Post Script at 5AM OK, true to their left wing reputation CNN just read letters from viewers. All were attacking Bush, the war, the concept of freeing Iraq, etc. Now I don't for a second suppose that this represents their entire audience, but most of it. CNN chose to read only Left Wing letters. So much for their impartiality.

The in-part terrorist supported CAIR is now going after a former enlisted man with no money and still going to school for daring to point out exactly who they are. The guy's site is HERE, called Anti-CAIR. His sin is to point out how tied to terrorism CAIR really is.
CAIR is a direct outgrowth of the Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP). According to Oliver Revell, the FBI's former associate director of Counter-Intelligence Operations, the IAP "is an organization that has directly supported [the Palestinian terror group] Hamas' military goals.
CAIR will do their best to ruin this guy who also dares to say....
Since well before 9/11, CAIR and other organizations have alleged to speak on behalf of America?’s peaceful, moderate Muslims, while simultaneously lending support and funds to terrorist causes.
Daniel Pipes raises the alarm on his site today; his column also appears on Front Page. CAIR is really a serious problem.

Allah ain't funny today but worth reading. He quotes from DEBKA (we all know how reliable they are) so if you read DEBKA don't bother. If you have not read it then get there. Very interesting, but keep in mind that DEBKA is to fact as Clinton is to fidelity.

More trouble for Bush with women Forget the feminist crap, women are gutless and they don't want to fight about anything. Go here for the latest figures on "fighting terror" and you will see that women want to get touchy feely with our "allies" and talk about how best to "deal" with terrorists. I have long thought that all the talk about Islam that highlights the "ill treatment of women" was just crap put out by men to get women to support the war. Without Jews and women this war will be lost. Who gives a fat fuck if they are in burkas, fur coats, or top coats? Just the right number of women, that's who. Women will not want to stay the course in this and will gradually become the decisive factor in abandoning both the war in Iraq and the war on terror (Islam and let's stop kidding one another). Could become decisive in six months.

Just how bad is Detroit currently in a state of shock over the endless series of monstrously violent crimes? Here's my experience in that city.

I was an actor in New York and got a commercial shoot in Detroit. We land at the airport and are met by the production guy. I accidentally ran into a black guy and the production man had a near collapse. "Don't even touch a black man around here", he cautioned all of us. The next day on the shoot (indoors behind double locked and guarded doors) when it came time for lunch the production sent out people to buy our lunches. Why? Because Detroit caterers were afraid to bring anything. The production company sent three people with an armed guard of two to go get our lunches. The girls refused to go out on the streets. The place is one of the most awful anywhere, including Iraq. White people there can't wait to leave, and don't really want to enter. Just my experience. Racist hell and it's all black hate. They can't blame "Whitey" for what they do to each other, but they try.

German unemployment rises to 10.4% (East Germany has 19% rate) but if you listen to the German media you'd think this was no biggie. All that is wrong in Europe is wrong with this number. Can you imagine what would happen here if we had 10% unemployment? Will the ECB drop rates? No, they don't think anything is wrong. France is at 9.6% REPORTED, and so on. EU is going protectionist with underutilized capacity at record highs. They are supporting businesses that are losing money (The French Jet sale), with everything from cars to washing machines getting phony orders. This is potentially bad for us because they can't buy our products if they aren't working.

IRAQ, A NATION OF WELFARE BUMS

I'm a Republican but I ask all of you, "How long can we rationalize the killings of our troops in Iraq?" The bloody dismemberment of families? The Muslim religion is anti-democratic at its very core. There is no room for democracy in that horrid religion. Only in Turkey, where a dominant military STILL sits on the elected government, is there "democracy" of any kind. The Iraqi people will NOT stand up for themselves. They are a nation of Welfare Bums who have never in their lives taken care of themselves. 600 American dead for nothing. 600 American families robbed of their fathers, brothers, sons, and daughters. For what? The Iraqi people are deserving of the same hell as every other Welfare Freeloader. There HAS to be a desire for freedom in order for it to happen. They just want to be taken care of and they don't care who does it or how they get the money. We have rebuilt the country with our money; rebuilt their oil industry, means of delivery, and allowed them to keep the profits. All of these will soon be going to some Muslim cleric who will fund terrorism; fund terrorist courses and chairs at American Universities; and work against us in every way. Bet on it. No democracy will ever overthrow a dictator in any Muslim country because they don't want freedom. Period. The Bush Administration from top to bottom is clueless; now near even with Kerry in who will handle the war on terror the best.. And I hope you read the Kaplan piece referenced below. Later add I didn't link to this report from Healing Iraq last night because of his notorious lack of credibility, but this time it sure looks like he got it right. If you linked from Reynolds last night you got the truth. And it is even more true as I write this even though Reynolds and everybody else is backing off. Hell, even a fortune teller is right once in a while and it looks like the guy got it right. Just awful news from Iraq this morning.

Our real problem is that the Democrats are even worse.

Another thought is this: looking at our own country and our history is there any religion if taken literally that supports democracy? I've gotten a ton of email from well meaning but totally rigid Christian bloggers telling me I should rot in hell for what I wrote. Now for something to chew on. A lady from Rand named Cheryl Benard has written a book called Civil Democratic Islam, (pamphlet summary available on line in PDF) that proposes rebuilding Islam, not countries. No Islam Playmates or centerfolds, just writing. Daniel Pipes gives it the once over today HERE along with his take. Still doesn't sound that great to me but worth a look.

Classic network news timing..... Specials all over the tube about oil and gasoline prices as crude drops from $39 to $34. A bunch of dumb bastards. I've been saying for months that oil prices are a function of the dollar. The dollar has risen from 129+ to under 120 (1.29 to buy 1 Euro) right now. Look for 118 as I also said almost a month ago. a 7% rise. The drop in oil is an 8% drop. Do the math. Learn the truth. In fact gold is also a barometer and it is down from 329 to 310, a 9% drop. As the economy gets strong the dollar will also get strong, but not too strong. Gasoline prices are already down a couple of cents in LA.

THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION DOZES ON. ANY REAL DEMOCRAT WOULD SMOKE HIM

Here is exactly why anti-Semitism is cause celeb at UC Berkeley, Columbia, Harvard, and almot every campus in America. It becomes obvious after reading Lee Kaplan's piece in Front Page
One wonders why a theocratic totalitarian regime where 30% of the population is illiterate and where PhDs teach that Jews use the blood of gentile children to make matzoh[8] would take such interest in the American educational system instead of their own.[9]Yet the money the Saudis are pouring into our universities and colleges as gifts and endowments is alarming: King Fahd donated $20 million dollars to set up a Middle East Studies Center at the University of Arkansas; $5 million was donated to UC Berkeley’s Center For Mideast Studies from two Saudi sheiks linked to funding Al Qaeda; [10] $2.5 million dollars to Harvard; $8.1 million dollars to Georgetown including a $500,000 scholarship in the name of President Bush; $11 million dollars to Cornell; $1.5 million dollars to Texas A&M; $5 million dollars to MIT; $1 million dollars to Princeton; Rutgers received $5 million dollars to endow a chair as did Columbia which tried to hide where the money came from.[11] Saudi largesse included UC Santa Barbara; Johns Hopkins; Rice University; American University in Washington, D.C.; University of Chicago; Syracuse University; USC; UCLA; Duke University; and Howard University among many others
These campus "intellectuals" are bought and paid for. Read it, the details really are bad. Lee Kaplan is a very serious guy and the article is footnoted and researched. While the Bush people slither up to the hearings to say they did the best job they could, this goes on and they do nothing. BTW one terror funded chair is called the George W Bush chair. No BS.

Investment guru phonies blogging on web and employment A bunch of dopes with zero in the market. Everybody is a jerk. The good ones all have private newsletters or private data bases and you have to pay a fucking fortune to get them. The biggest and best, WONDA, costs more than $100,000 per year, is released weekly, and is used by most all institutions and very large brokerage firms (Merrill, Goldman, etc.). Don't think for one second anyone will divulge that data. When you read of some blog or net bozo talking about "real unemployment", fuhgedaboud him. All you care about as an investor is your numbers and fuck the "news". Employment data gathered by the government has used the same techniques for twenty years. We are comparing apples to apples. Period. The "secret employment" numbers are bogus. I used to work with some "disadvantaged" people and most of these losers had non-profit corporations that earned nothing. 1099 income or that kind of "employment" is mostly bums. A few real start ups that will show up as regular stuff if and when they are successsful. Have a system. Stay with your system. Don't go to the web for "tips". Upcoming data will show in the charts long before "phony data" shows up as real data. Market turned down in March of 00 in anticipation of the dot com melt down. It turned up in March of 03 with a vengence anticipating the numbers we have now. Just market info baby, you don't ever have to read the news.

MILITARY CAMPAIGN NAMES

The reasons for our problems in Iraq include the stupid names for our campaigns of revenge. The current one: Operation Vigilant Resolve is but one stupid example. "Come on boys, let's do or die for Vigilant Resolve", doesn't cut it. These chickenshit names being thought up by some Liberal Democratic suit in an advertising firm located in Pussyfoot DE has to stop. I understand from some blogs that the next name for our campaigns will be: Operation Abortion Rights; Operation Group Therapy; Operation Health Care; and Operation Gay Marriage.

The Passion results in wall to wall Jesus Vision as all the networks do specials on Jesus, making dam sure they never say he was the son of God, God, or anything other than a weird guy. These atheists and liberals will never get it. Ever. What they'd really like to do are shows like "Who was Karl (Marx)?", "The Real Fidel", or "Palm Sunday with Judas". People either believe that Jesus Christ was "Our Savior" or they think he's just a guy saying some cool stuff and let's write some songs about him so we can make money. The TV coverage comes under the latter category.

4/4/2004

If you haven't been to Mudville to read his piece on Fallujah and the Media coverage be sure that you do. He concludes with this quote from John Stuart Mill:
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS FROM THE BOWEL MOVEMENT OF ART

Hollywood to launch Christheist movies
pretending they are movies of "faith". People who make twenty million per picture and keep it, have faith only in money. "Love of money is the root of all evil", a truth that will cause their "faith" output to crash. Face it, Christianity is threatening. All the bullshit about Hollywood is contained in this passage from The Sermon on the Mount
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
You will know them by their fruits.
Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
Therefore by their fruits (MTV, Rap, and every violent and porno film) you will know them.
The bad fruit trees of Hollywood ain't gunna be cut down any time soon unless we stop patronizing their rotten fruit. Stop feeding them with our money. Movies of faith? These atheists, New Left quasi-fascists, and libertines will continue to run amock til they run out of food and are left to starve.

And make no mistake, their food is money. Their artistic output is vile.
"What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, (are the following movie scripts or not?) adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man." Mark 7:1-23
Tough to live with. But Gibson succeeded.

Now for the Jesus preaching love crap. Atheist bullshit from our secular Media. Jesus was a revolutionary out to change both Romans and Jews. Check this out:
"Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to 'set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law'; and 'a man's enemies will be those of his own household.' He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it." Matthew 10-34
Jesus was a tough SOB. That's why he was killed.

Are you as sick of this 9/11 photo op shit as I am??? God dam all these politicians to hell. Clinton didn't mess with it because he was a poll guy and never sold a new concept to the public. So what? Bush was elected by one vote and didn't want to take on what had to be an impossible "war" when he didn't have to. Can you hear the Left if he had decided to try something? We weren't prepared for Pearl Harbor in spite of everything and we weren't prepared for 9/11 in spite of everything. Now the people screaming at Bush want the Patriot Act dumped, don't like fingerprinting foreigners, want open borders, and HOMELAND SECURITY. Think I'll smoke a joint and watch a porno.

Markets and Economy
WHAT NEWS?

Nothing much to be said other than "whew, that was close."
If you will check the markets you will find we are still in a trading range. Back to the fundamentals of dividends, profits, and buying or selling stocks based on whatever system you use. Employment is political in its effect and the election will be the only thing affected. We need numbers in the 200,000 (the actual employment growth) for six to eight months in order to really kick the economy into gear. As a political aside, let me point out that "outsourcing" is most always building a plant near their customers; wherever they sell the build. But the profits come back here and are plowed into this economy.

I am always most wary when things look most rosy, and things sure do look rosy. You will note that as the dollar gets a little stronger oil prices will fall slightly as I have pointed out before. The one change to watch is the selling of bonds to buy stocks. The inevitable result will be higher rates, not set by the Fed but set by (horror) the markets.

Then there is CHINA Every rosy forecast is based on continuing huge demand from China. Watch out. This could change in a commissar's whim. Nobody knows if they are cooking the books. Right now they are funding their growth with trade, the same formula that built the U.S.A. Just be careful, this demand could dry up overnight.

Terpsboy hits one against the wall in left

Chew on this one from Michael Ledeen
Iraqi leaders will necessarily and quite reasonably be intimidated by the terror masters until and unless we demonstrate that we are serious about the war against terrorism, and that we are determined and capable of taking the struggle to Damascus and Tehran.

It is a strategic error of enormous dimensions to focus all our attention on Iraq, thereby leaving the Iranian mullahs and the Syrian Baathists a free hand. It has just cost hundreds of lives in Baghdad and may well cost many more. If all goes badly, it may yet lead to our defeat in the region.

Our greatest weapon against the terror masters is not military, but political. Yesterday, as news of the Iraqi carnage reached Iran, thousands of people poured into the streets to demonstrate against the tyranny of Ali Khamenei and Hashemi Rafsanjani. At this writing, there are only scattered reports, but many of the demonstrators seem to be accusing the regime of orchestrating the massacres. They know what many Western leaders and pundits seem unable to grasp: that the mullahs are happy to arrange for the mass murder of their own people in order to advance their cause. And it has a delicious side benefit, at least in the eyes of the tyrants: they can then claim that they are victims of Al Qaeda.

Last night French television reported that "Iranians" had been arrested in Iraq in connection with the bombings. These early reports are often mistaken, but the French instincts in this matter are certainly sound. The targets, the timing, and the operations themselves (a sequence of suicide bombers at separate locations, and then grenades thrown from neighboring buildings) bear the imprint of a ruthless, professional intelligence service. This was not the work of leftover Saddam followers. It was part of the broader war, in which we are the major target but not yet a fully engaged protagonist.
The "problems" terror in Iraq are a direct result of the Iran/Syria alliance and trashing Falluja won't solve it.
........attacks bear the imprint of a ruthless, professional intelligence service. This was not the work of leftover Saddam followers. It was part of the broader war, in which we are the major target but not yet a fully engaged protagonist.
I still say our resident genius, Rumsfeld doesn't get it. Wretchard also agrees that there was organization, only he feels the Iraqi police were part of the plot. Regardless, Iraq wasn't under the heel of a dictator because they had balls.

John and Teresa's college book reading list at University of California, the bastion of free thought:
American Gulag: Inside U.S. Immigration Prisons, by Mark Dow, "tells the horrifying story of men, women and children detained indefinitely by U.S. immigration officials" and explicitly compares their circumstances to those in "Stalin's U.S.S.R."
There's Something Happening Here: The New Left, the Klan, and FBI Counterintelligence, by David Cunningham, "examines the bureau's massive campaign of repression" in the 1960s.
The Children of NAFTA: Labor Wars on the U.S./Mexico Border, by David Bacon, "paints a powerful portrait of poverty, repression, and struggle."
These and other books comparing Nazi Art with Jesuit art and so on can be found at Daniel Pipes site. Pipes notes that out of 140 books listed by UC there is not a single conservative book. If you are interested in supporting real academic freedom join with Horowitz at Front Page; give him five bucks or something if you've got it. He's doing something worthwhile.

Adelphia still stinks without Rigas pop and son They have the much touted video on demand where you can just click on one of a hundred movies and play it like a video. Only thing is at least half the movies aren't listed anywhere as ever being made In other words they are dumping a bunch of crap that is so bad they went straight to video; no theatrical release. What scumbags.

Segregation is back and affirmative action is the cause. I was at that bastion of Leftist orthodoxy in Los Angeles, UCLA, to use their library for a few hours. While there I dropped into the lunch area and was shocked. Complete segregation of blacks from the rest of the students. Blacks all sat together while the other races checkerboarded the area both inside and out. I noted that the library was free of any black faces other than the workers there. UCLA as well as the entire UC system has separate graduations for Blacks and Hispanics, a sure sign that they are inferior to the rest of the campus. The same segregation is true at the Cal State system. This is segregation chosen by Blacks, not forced upon them by whites. The pious diversity bullshit spouted by faculty and white students who won't sit with the Blacks anywhere is revealed. Segregation ain't good for anyone. But leaders have to create it and the Liberal/Left leadership is gutless.

THE MUSIC KERRY LOVES---READ THIS NOW

Direct quote from Kerry: "I'm fascinated by rap and by hip-hop. I think there's a lot of poetry in it. There's a lot of anger, a lot of social energy in it. And I think you'd better listen to it pretty carefully, 'cause it's important." Here's a direct transcription of the stuff Kerry likes.
"Niggas in the church say:
kill whitey all night long. . . .
the white man is the devil. . . .
the CRIPS and Bloods are soldiers I'm recruiting with no dispute;
drive-by shooting on this white genetic mutant. . . .
let's go and kill some rednecks. . . .
Menace Clan ain't afraid. . . .
I got the .380;
the homies think I'm crazy because I shot a white baby;
I said; I said; I said: kill whitey all night long. . . .
a nigga dumping on your white ass;
fuck this rap shit, nigga, I'm gonna blast. . . .
I beat a white boy to the motherfucking ground"; "Kill Whitey" performed by Menace Clan, Da Hood
Real poetic and real important. I'll give you one more out of thousands that Kerry says are poetic and worthy of your attention. Here's one that includes the Jews in the "Poetry"
"I kill a devil right now. . . .
I say kill whitey all nightey long. . . .
I stabbed a fucking Jew with a steeple. . . .
I would kill a cracker for nothing,
just for the fuck of it. . . .
Menace Clan kill a cracker;
jack 'em even quicker. . . .
catch that devil slipping;
blow his fucking brains out"
Here's another one that might thrill the Democrats even more with it's poetry and feeling
"We're having thoughts of overthrowing the government. . . .
the brothers and sisters threw their fists in the air. . . .
it's open season on crackers,
you know;
the morgue will be full of Caucasian John Doe's. . . .
I make the Riot shit look like a fairy tale. . . .
oh my god, Allah, have mercy;
I'm killing them devils because they're not worthy to walk the earth with the original black man;
they must be forgetting;
it's time for Armageddon,
and I won't rest until they're all dead" "Goin Bananas"; Da Lench Mob, Planet of da Apes,
You can go here as one place where the lyrics of this Kerry Music can be found.

Proof that most babes don't look all that good naked is here. Link from bitchgirls and Terpsboy. I can't figure who but I'll bet it's Terpsboy. Late Add Been told in no uncertain terms that it's Terpsboy not Bitchgirls. They don't own dogs that ugly. BTW when you go to bitchgirls today be sure you check out the good job the new Cunnilingis Police are doing. Word is that the FBI is now taking tongue prints from all males. This evil must be stamped out.

300,000 plus new jobs: Biggest number in four years. Watch for bonds to tank in fear of interest rate hike. Stocks will soar. Huge news for the GOP and bad news for the Democrats. However the Democrats spin this number immediately as bad news and lies; they point out that the grocery strike and construction represent 70,000 of the jobs so there were "only" 230,000. Plus they are screaming that hours worked are down and things are really awful. Fact: number is terrific but we need many more months like this. GOP response spin (as if they needed it) is 759,000 jobs created in the last seven months. Unemployment rate went UP to 5.7% because lots of workers started looking for jobs. Later add at 6:03 PST Manufacturing jobs stayed flat. First time they haven't shrunk since 2000, when Clinton was president. It becomes very clear that this downturn started under Clinton's shift with the dot com crash. Interest rates are rising over 4%. Dollar is roaring against all currencies. Look for the Democratic protectionism to fade as an issue.

Hollywood TV becomes DNC propaganda within scripts. The (shock--awe) New York Times lays it all on the line this morning. Forget the Liberal Talk Radio, this is right out of Stalin and Goebels. Your choice? Stop watching, stop going to their stinking movies.
On the NBC show "Whoopi," the hotelier played by Whoopi Goldberg delivered an anti-Bush screed when the president, played by a lookalike, appeared at her establishment to use the facilities. "I can't believe he's in there doing to my bathroom what he's done to the economy!"
It spreads to drama too.
One of the wise-cracking detectives on the NBC show "Law & Order," played by Jesse L. Martin, referred to the president as the "dude that lied to us." The character went on to say, "I don't see any weapons of mass destruction, do you?" His cantankerous partner, played by Jerry Orbach, retorted that Saddam Hussein did have such weapons because the president's "daddy" sold them to a certain someone "who used to live in Baghdad."
Chairman Mao and Fidel smile sweetly.

Fallujah and Rumsfeld In my opinion this was another total failure by our resident genius, the great Donald Rumsfeld. Fallujah has been THE problem in Iraq since day one and we have no plan to handle it. Again, if an old line Democrat was running for president he'd win in a walk. BTW Iraq IS in a civil war right now. Kurds vs Shiites vs Sunnis and they all hate each other. Iraq under Saddam was like Yugoslavia under the commie dictator, Tito. He kept the warring Serbs, Muslims, and Albanians terrorized into silence for 50 years. Once he was gone the place erupted.

Politics overload responssible for Cable News viewer drop? More and more people are screaming that they can't stand watching any more of those *******. I ran from another room and hit the remote the other day when whatever cable news channel ran more bullshit. Endless coverage about the same thing drives viewers to I-pods or CD collections.

Our lying government AGAIN If you missed the Ecstacy drug report on ABC last night, better go HERE right now. All reports from the DEA and other government agencies about the bad effects of the drug are not only false, but based on junk science. Talk to your kids AGAIN and admit you had bad info and that you didn't lie. These scumbags have been lying for ten years using data that didn't exist......

Brain dead White House just keeps on rollin'....Keeping the Clinton files out of the 9/11 hearing just bolsters those who believe that Clinton warned the hell out of them. Again, this is the worst PR administration in memory. Total assholes.

HORNUNG TOLD THE TRUTH---SHAME ON HIM

Paul Hornung learns the "Special Rules for White People" Blacks call whites every name in the book and get prime time exposure but if you're white you better keep quiet because the phony liberal sports writers will kill you. Before I write more, I will say that all athletes at Stanford, Duke, Rice (baseball NCAA champs), and a very few other universities with high standards pass their classes, most of them without hand holding tutors.

BUT here is my experience. My ex-wife was an assistant professor at a prestigious university. She repeatedly brought home papers that were unintelligible drivel written by blacks. When I say unintellibible I mean there were no sentences there; just words strung together. She had been instructed to pass all blacks with at least a C if they attended class. She finally snapped because of the total drivel written by blacks and flunked every bad paper including those of two football players (one a starter) and a basketball player; she had a requirement that papers could not be written by a tutor and students would be tested on their own papers. Her Department Head, a nationally respected authority in her field, ordered her to change the grades or be terminated for cause. She refused and was fired.

The pressure put on her was total. The football players put 90,000 people in the stands five times per year at $50 per head, the basketball player helped fill an arena and almost guaranteed high paying TV shots for the school. Blacks were disadvantaged. She flunked them. She had an advanced degree and had no trouble getting a high paying job in the private sector, but that is not the point. In all but the elite universities cheating goes on every day. Tutors, partial class attendance, a careful assignment to teachers who will go along, placing athletes in a major that is easy enough to slide through is par for the course. Those are the facts. Do any of you seriously believe that most of the teams in the NCAA tournaments had athletes who could read or write at grade level? The college bowl teams? It is a farce and what Hornung said is that the quasi-criminals must be allowed to play or you cannot beat the SEC or Big 12 teams. University of Southern California has been the beneficiary of terrible recruiting by both UCLA and the Arizona schools, as well as Cal Berkeley so they have literally cleaned up the Southern California high school football hot bed for the past four years. From what I hear the kids are mostly OK because their high school grades were decent. Notre Dame coach Willingham did a hell of a job recruiting good athletes to Stanford and will probably do the same at Notre Dame if given a chance. But Stanford NEVER competed for a National Championship because their athletes weren't good enough; black or white. Like it or not, Hornung is right. Politically Incorrect, but right. 230 pounders who run a 4.2 40 yard dash ain't going to Harvard. In fact without football they'd probably go to jail.

My take on Liberal radio is simply this: there is a difference between an obvious propaganda network sponsored by a particular Political Party and independent thinking. Rush goes after Republicans plenty, something the lap dogs on "Liberal" radio will not be allowed to do unless the target is a conservative that the DNC targets for death. I'm not so dense that I think politically controlled art can't be good. It can be actually great. Most great art was created under the heel of church or state until the middle of the 19th century. That was then. This is now: In today's world being anybody's toady makes you an artistic sell out going in. That is why so much of Hollywood is total shit. I call it "Toadyvision". The thing about "conservative" talk shows is that most of the talkers are mavericks, shut out by main stream media. G. Gordon (jail bird), Ollie North (accused of treason in Iran Contra), Rush (a drug addict facing charges in Florida), Savage (kicked off the network) and so on are way out of the main stream, controlled by nobody. Liberal Radio is establishment suck ups and kiss asses. Big difference. And then there is talent. Talent overcomes everything: Tsars, Popes, Kings, and Communism (rarely). Let's see if the Left has the talent.

Just completely read this LINK to the Mudville Gazette from Instapundit and if you haven't read it yet it is a MUST READ. Be prepared for a Media propaganda blitz using yesterday's images of burning bodies, trucks, and dancing civilians to weaken support for the war and strengthen the Democrats. We need to prepare ourselves. Do yourself a favor and go there and link up to the links. A really great site for everything. I took twenty minutes and read all his postings. Terrific. The author is a soldier stationed in Germany, he says. All I know is that this is one very smart soldier, if that's what he is. I suspect he's something else or something else too.

Reynolds pussyfoots around the obvious AGAIN A whining piece about genocide in Africa ignores the obvious. Nobody gives a shit about Black people. Period. Especially not American Black politicians. Slavery in the Sudan isn't mentioned because it is Blacks doing it to other Blacks. The deliberate starvation of a population in disagreement with the "president" Mugabe in Zimbabwe is ignored because a Black leader is doing the starvation. The repeated famines in Ethiopia, which could be solved in one growing season by the introduction of genetically engineered seeds, are shrugged off because of color. Oh and the incredible greed of the EU that cares more about their farmers getting rich than in allowing Africa to be famine free. One could call the agricultural policies of the EU genocide by farm subsidies. Reynolds does link to a good piece yesterday in the NYT that is the usual article about "what smart people already know and dumb people don't want to know". The real fact remains is that when a people's main focus is on getting the next meal or starve they can't do anything else but try to eat their next meal.

Period. See my old essay: "Do you Really Care How Many Africans Starve?" Reynolds on the plus side links HERE to a disgusting revelation of "news" coverage that is very depressing. Read it.
