EIGHT MILE, BEST MOVIE IN A YEAR Now on PAY PER VIEW. If you didn't see it in theatres, see it. Get past any prejudice you may have. No "raping my sister" lyrics. This movie ain't like that phoney baloney plastic "Chicago" with all the lip synch, cut up dancing, and digitally enhanced singing (no way those women were singing that with their plain voices). Bad, and I mean bad language: get past it. This movie will at the very least show you what rap is really about. No black whores, pimps, drug addicts, or drug dealers; no black criminals, gangbangers, or rapists either. Just a tough as hell Rap Musical and it is close to great. I was left with the opinion that this movie also shows the true gutlessness of the Academy in refusing to recognize a picture about real young people in a real economic trap and how they try to deal with it; just not Beverly Hills Liberal enough for them. This is the "Citizen Kane" of modern music. Do yourself a favor. Pay per view.
