Way way beneath the radar an Indian Republican (like, from India) has won the Republican nomination for Governor in the supposedly bigoted red neck state of Louisiana.

Indian-American Republican candidate Piyush ‘Bobby’ Jindal today attained an unassailable lead in the open primary for the governorship of the southern American state of Louisiana, the first of his ethnicity to reach so far — a step away from the Governor’s mansion.
