MILLIONAIRE SCREEN ACTORS GUILD SCABS STRIKE AGAIN---"Master and Commander" ANOTHER DISGUSTING EXAMPLE
More blog bullshit about movies--- this time calling attention to Master and Commander being a "Hollywood" movie about old time masculinity. If it's masculine it ain't from Hollywood---- The writer of the novel is a Brit, the writer of the screenplay is Australian and he also directed. The star, Russel Crowe, is Australian too. The story is British, almost all the actors are either Brit or Aussie. Only the money was American. This movie, a hell of a movie, is really Australian. It's as Hollywood as Brisbane or Ensenada (Fox Studios Baja). Behind the camera it is Hollywood because nobody can do the tech stuff like Hollywood, if Mexico is Hollywood because that's where most of it was shot. No swishy bullshit in this movie, story, or presentation. BTW casting calls for this movie emphasized that SAG had no jurisdiction, meaning union rules didn't exist (viva Mexico), a typical Hollywood stunt.
Bouley (casting director) says the film is not under Screen Actors Guild jurisdiction, and stresses that the casting call, which will be held between 4 and 8 p.m., is open to both professionals and amateurs. So there. The big actors, all members of the SAG, once again fucked all their "fellow" union members so they could line their pockets, as did Writer-Director-Producer Peter Wier; so I guess it is American as apple pie, burritos, and scab labor. Millionaire Liberals strike again.
