Front Page has a searing analysis of "dead peasants insurance" and Dean's probable participation in it. This policy is so badly thought of that only six states, including Vermont, permit it. This scam allows a corporation to take out huge life insurance policies on employees without their knowledge and profit hugely upon their death. So your employer might insure you for a million without your knowledge and collect when you die and pocket the money tax free. Read the piece, I used to be in the insurance business in CA and there a beneficiary has to have "an insurable interest" in order to be named. Interesting stuff.
