"Just part of the facts, ma'am" As Bernard Lewis wrote and as Pipes, Ladeen and a ton of others, including me have written, one of the main things Muslims hate about us is "the separation of church and state". This is a non starter with them and they never give up on the concept of "the devine man", a person ruled always by God. Sullivan links to an article in the Asia Times today that is more than likely an article that tells intelligent people what they already know and dopes things they don't want to know, but worth reading because you will get a feel of the dialogue. I have written here many times that our problem with the Left in this country is that they have total contempt for ALL religion; if you believe in God you are a moron. The Left is not capable of dealing with any religious movement other than to ignore it within a Democratic society. Well Lefty, we are now face to face with the eighth century and they are pissed. God and state are one-----or else. While this guy in Pakistan is a radical with the typical concentration on selected data to prove a point, he is just one of hundreds of very bright, and very dangerous, leaders in the Muslim world. Not unlike plenty of university professors here. "Just part of the facts, ma'am. I don't want to think about too much." covers it.
