Here's the real deal----From an old Herb Meyer essay.

"Okay, it's time to say out loud what a lot of us who support the war on terrorism have been saying among ourselves: President Bush is doing a great job fighting the war — but a lousy job explaining it. And his inability to explain this war in a convincing, persuasive way is starting to erode support among Republicans and, worse, starting to give Democrats and foreigners who want us to lose this war — yes, that really is what they want — the kind of ammunition they need to gain traction.
Many of us have been saying this for almost a year. Jesus, we are cursed with a wartime president who can't explain it. Meyer again:
"Our cultural environment is Western Civilization. This is who we are. And today, Western Civilization is under siege. We are under attack from Radical Islam – that's the War on Terrorism. We are under attack from those within the US itself who seek to destroy our traditional culture and our moral values – from those who believe the State is more important than the family or the individual.
Keep in mind that Western Civilization has been kicked out of almost every college curriculum. In those universities where it is offered as an elective it is more than likely taught by an American hating Leftist or Communist. Where Caesar Chavez is just as important as slave owning pigs like Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and Alexander Hamilton.

Houston, we've got some fucking problems. Mainly the American Left, abetted by a president who lacks even rudimentary communication skills. As I asked yesterday, can you imagine JFK, FDR, or Reagan mumbling platitudes while guys are dying?
