Iraq TV coverage in Los Angeles early AM is non-existent other than the much maligned CNN. FOX has these moronic FOX and Friends laughing and joking like fools, yukking it up about court cases, adultery of some soccer star, etc., while our guys die; they do no news at all. MSNBC has this bitter old man (Don Imus)who can do nothing but curse at Bush with no news at all other than his flunky reading four and five hour old newspaper articles to an audience; no shit, this fogged up "former" cocaine addict is what passes for news on MSNBC in the AM out here. So I'm watching CNN for the first time in a hell of a long time and they have actual news from embedded reporters. How FOX can continue any kind of ratings when they do "shows" instead of news is beyond me. As an aside, FOX when their laughing it up "personalities" actually lower themselves to actually do news, now seems more concerned with what the Iraqis think of us than kicking their asses. MSNBC has just stopped doing news. So when we get up in the morning out here we have a tough time finding out what is going on without risking the absorption of propaganda from CNN, who seem to be doing a very thorough job.

My take: we had no intel AGAIN. We "allowed" a nut case imam to arm 10,000 of his followers who now kill our guys in "surprise" attacks. Fox refers to the attack around Ramadi as a "sneak attack"; what bullshit. It was a sneak attack only because we AGAIN HAD NO INTEL and thus weren't ready in the middle of a war. But not to worry our peerless leader is leading from Crawford Texas in another example of the completely clueless Bush PR machine. The appearance of campaigning, vacationing, and doing nothing while our troops die is too stupid for discussion. Karen Hughes will make no difference to this tinned ear crowd, in fact she is probably just as clueless as the rest of them.

How can the president of the United States decide to stay on vacation during this terrible situation in Iraq? He really may be stupid. Yes, I am pissed off. Our guys deserve better than this crap. Recent acts of barbarism against Coalition forces in Iraq have revived an old and enormously important debate: Are these terrorists the products of fanatic tyrannies, or are the tyrannies the logical expression of the true nature of the peoples of the region? That question is answered very well HERE at NRO.
Hate to tell everybody, but in Los Angeles (second largest city in the US) CNN is the ONLY news station. Post Script at 5AM OK, true to their left wing reputation CNN just read letters from viewers. All were attacking Bush, the war, the concept of freeing Iraq, etc. Now I don't for a second suppose that this represents their entire audience, but most of it. CNN chose to read only Left Wing letters. So much for their impartiality.
