The Wall Street Journal thinks that a crooked election in Washington State should be overlooked. This morally bankrupt view is on full display in all its, well in all its slimy logic. The Republicans were robbed in Washington but they are to go softly into that dark night.

.......discovered 573 "erroneously rejected" absentee ballots, plus another 150 uncounted ones that showed up in a South Seattle warehouse. There were reports that hundreds (more than 500) of voters were registered in storage rental facilities and private mailboxes, that felons had voted, and that military ballots were sent out too late to be counted. Then we learned that several hundred provisional ballots had simply been fed into voting machines, making it impossible to authenticate their legality. Now it turns out the number of votes cast in King County exceeds the total number of voters by about 1,800.
Dead people vote, others vote twice, and military votes are deliberately stalled, but according to the Journal its all OK. Read it and puke. And don't forget to link to Sound Politics because he has been all over this for nearly a month. Nobody is better, and because of the absence of coverage he is the only voice.

There is so much good stuff at No Pasaran (200,000 Parisians living in poverty) I can only recommend that you go there. He has a rundown of French press pieces that----well just read it. Jacques "friendly policy" toward the US is pretty well exposed. (Did I mention that 200,000 Parisians live in poverty?) As all of us know, France is never to be trusted again. Foreign minister Barnier's interview in the Herald Tribune on the other hand---France has a lot of hands--- criticised the view in Washington that there should be a "movement of democracy" in the Middle East, insisting instead that peace should be the priority for the region. I guess this means let Iran build a bomb. (Did I mention that 200,000 Parisians are living on 670 Euros per month??) Never forget that Chirac wants a multi-polar world where he sees the EU, Russia, and China uniting to counterbalance the U.S. The French place all the responsibility for Peace in the Middle East on the U.S. The interview in the NYT owned International Herald Tribune, is meant solely for US consumption and lays out what they want us to think is their current party line.

According to Google, 1,218 papers feature stories about torture at Abu Ghraib led---naturally---by the New York Times. 1,218 papers is a lot of MSM jumping on one old story and nobody reporting on the successful elections in Afghanistan.

Rosett strikes again. The release of 55 internal audits totaling thousands upon thousands of pages is typical coverup tactics. "Here asshole, plow through this." Well of course Claudia plows a tiny corner of the field and discovers either another $18 billion stolen or another dark corner of the UN that also stole money. Claudia for Pulitzer. I know, it's almost impossible. Jayson Blair is a virtual lock.
