NEW YORK -- Comedy Central star Dave Chappelle has checked himself into a mental health facility in South Africa, the magazine Entertainment Weekly reported on Wednesday.

The comedian's whereabouts and condition have been unknown since Comedy Central abruptly announced last week that the planned May 31 launch of the third season of "Chappelle's Show" had been postponed and production halted.
This is not some Hollywood asshole having a "lightning flash." Artie Shaw---a total prick as a human being and a great clarinet player---said it best. "Nobody can possibly be ready for the sudden success. You go from "No help wanted, get the hell out of here," to tons of money and adoration tossed your way for doing the same thing you've always been doing." Shaw was getting $60,000 a night--equal to $600,000 today---from not being able to pay his band, literally instantly. Chappelle is a guy from the "hood" who was a zero, probably was called the "N" word on an almost daily basis and all of a sudden somebody is tossing $50 million per year in his lap for doing what he's been doing for $10 a week.

He's a talented guy who really needs space to understand what is going on. With big money comes big responsibility and the responsibility is very very tough to handle.
