SELL OUT

DEAD DOGS GUARDING THE HEN HOUSE WILL NEVER BE REELECTED.... Or do any of you think Hillary Clinton would have sold her party down the river like this?

Gutless Republicans who crave nothing more than praise from the MSM sell principle for approval, again.. They are pond scum opportunists unfit to govern and this is proof. "Gosh, they'll hate me if I try to govern." Not to worry GOP, I think a lot of us won't vote for you next time on the theory you don't use a dead dog to guard the hen house. We should allow the GOP carcass to be left to rot in the sun where the flies and maggots can strip it down to nothing. That is if the rotting body doesn't kill the flies unlucky enough to think they have found actual food. The usual suspects agree. Here too.

The MSM loves the mavricks---traitors---in the GOP, here, here, and here; the Hate America press, the people who are destroying the morale of our Military will do their best to sell these chickenshits as heros. The New York Times, a supporter of the Hate America Left at every level, just loves McCain etc.

Hewitt may never contribute to the GOP again. This is a sell out, no question. Even the hard core Left is saying the GOP sold out and that the Left "won."

Schultz says it pretty well without cursing, HERE.

Power Line, summing it up for most of us: "It would be hard to overstate what a disaster this is for the Republican Party." I agree, this is something I am not going to forget. Ever.

Late Add: it looks like the bloggers on the Right are unanamous in their condemnation of this "deal." Whether we are representative of the party as a whole will be told another day. McCain will never again be able to run as a Republican and will probably switch or be re-called. Frist can kiss his presidential hopes goodbye, and who knows or cares what happens to the rest of them. Republicans Suck. Confirm Them Bush Nominees has a good cross section of GOP rage. Bury them in their own pus. At least Hillary Clinton stands for something. Ask yourself if she would ever sell out like this. For me: no more money, no more support, we lost. The Republican Revolution has committed suicide. And if I'm wrong, let's do a mercy killing on them.

OTOH, Kaus thinks this deal is absolutely nothing. There is no deal, just phony posturing by the usual suspects--McCain et.al.---and the first time the Democrats decide to delay, the GOP will go for ending the filibuster. But Mickey, there is such a thing as standing on a principle. This ain't gunna fly with us. And will McCain, Snowe, Chaffee etc. bother to pretend they aren't teat sucking liberals?

Now for something completely different, as Monty Python used to say; the always philosophical conservative Professor Bainbridge thinks this is a conservative position and lays out the reasons for his opinion. I disagree with him but he has good points.

This whole filibuster argument is just boob bait. The whole thing is an irrelevant spat amongst our elite "betters".
When the time comes, does anybody actually believe Bush will appoint a conservative to the Supreme Court?

I agree with Bartelson. The point conservatives should understand is that plutocratic, Establishment Republicans of the Bush Jr. or Sen. Billy Frist ilk are privately rather liberal about cultural issues.

You think Sen Frist, M.D. and Princeton alumnus, is actually "down" with the Southern Baptist Convention? You're wrong.
