BILL OF RIGHTS IN U.K. NOT ON MY WATCH

U.K. Constitution??? Well there ain't one, at least in our conventional sense. What they have is a bunch of written documents that were written over time. So the dam thing begins with the Magna Carta which goes back to 1215. The EU bullshit has automatically become part of their particular "constitution," as has things like habeas corpus (enacted before we did it and key to their system), a Bill of Rights (bears little resemblance to ours---no such thing as freedom of speech), or rules of going after people the government thinks are guilty of something. It is called "organic" meaning judges or Parliament can change it any time EXCEPT that Rule of Law can prevent that, usually.

Their so-called Bill of Rights refers only to The Crown.... it addresses only the rights of Parliamentarians sitting in Parliament as against the Crown. The People have jack shit. Except....

Freedom from royal interference with the law (the Sovereign was forbidden to establish his own courts or to act as a judge himself)
freedom from taxation by royal prerogative, without agreement by Parliament
freedom to petition the king---you can ask for a connection to his latest cache of bimbos
freedom from a peace-time standing army, without agreement by Parliament
freedom [for Protestants] to bear arms for self-defence, as allowed by law. The "law" now forbids bearing arms.
freedom to elect members of Parliament without interference from the Sovereign
there is only freedom of speech in Parliament, in that proceedings in Parliament were not to be questioned in the courts or in any body outside Parliament itself (the basis of modern parliamentary privilege)
freedom from cruel and unusual punishments, and excessive bail
freedom from fines and forfeitures without trial....

So as we watch their cops dynamiting citizen doors and just going in, that's the way things can be done over there unless Parliament stops it. This also means that the "tolerance" that exists there now can be reversed in a nanosecond by an act of Parliament. It's a different system and that is why we had a rebellion.

What you are seeing right now is cops doing whatever the hell they want to do in order to catch these guys and it is all OK. Different system. When the Brit cops get going they can really get going.

The Brit cops could get going, if only they could remember how. I suspect years of hiding in the local HQ have dulled the edge of the British sword. You can't ignore crime for twenty years and then turn the switch the other way and expect the police force to suddenly be a good one. Lack of respect for the law, coddeling the criminals, denying the right of self-defence, have broght the British to their knees. Hope they like it, they are gonna be there for awhile. Did I say they deserve it? Yup, they do.
