THE ABORTION INDUSTRY HAS BECOME A MULTIMILLION DOLLAR BUSINESS

Proof that Bloggers are not the place to get news.
Actually posted early in the evening of Tuesday 8/9; changed so it could appear first item.

The NARAL TV ad accusing Judge Roberts of filing a legal brief in support of the abortion clinic bombing is a vicious lie, but you all know that. What you might not realize is the size of the TWO HUNDRED MILLION DOLLAR PLUS Abortion Industry. It is the profits from this industry that is fueling the anti-abortion slime and that pays directly for this ad and ads like it. The WSJ has a must read editorial today, part of which quotes a speech that Orin Hatch made during the Pricilla Owen hearings, and here is just a sample

I fear the opposition to Justice Owen from the abortion lobby is not at all about abortion rights, because abortion rights are affected by a mere notice statute. The opposition to Justice Owen is not really about abortion rights, it is about abortion profits. Simply put, the abortion industry is opposed to parental notice laws because parental notice laws place a hurdle between them and the profits from the abortion clients--not the girls who come to them but the adult men who pay for these abortions. These adult men, whose average age rises the younger the girl is, are eager not to be disclosed to parents, sometimes living down the street. . . . At nearly one million abortions per year, the abortion industry is as big as any corporate interest that lobbies in Washington. They not only ignore the rights of parents, they also protect sexual offenders and statutory rapists.
Read it. No media coverage at all of the speech. No blog coverage either. Only one paper, Newsday, owned by the Tribune Companies, ran the story. NOBODY PICKED IT UP. So those of you who think the bloggers are the real news source, think again.
