NEW YORK TIMES LOSES ITS LABEL AS THE PAPER OF RECORD

There is a huge upside to the NYT blackout of the Air America scandal. Editorials are appearing all over the country blasting the Air America management, the Boys and Girls management, and some of them mentioning the Big News blackout. The really constructive thing in all this for the rest of us is that finally the smaller papers who sign on with the NYT news service and just print everything without bothering to look, will now bother to look. Many of them use Associated Press feeds too, and the AP wrote a story on the story Friday. Just this AM there are 58 (and counting) news stories about Air America. The NY Times just may have lost the pervasive "paper of record" aura they have worn for the better part of a century and Middle America may get the real news in their papers, at last.
