A SHIRIA CONSTITUTION FOR IRAQ?

Before I left, this very late add from the AP: BAGHDAD, Iraq - Hours before a midnight deadline, Shiites and Kurds reached an agreement Monday on a draft constitution and were trying to persuade Sunni Arabs to go along with their compromises, officials said. Hope this makes all that appears below, moot.
Big stink-----about to erupt over the supposed "constitution" for Iraq. The root of it all is the Muslim religion, no matter how it is presented. The Muslim religion being the official religion means "no women need apply." It also means that Shria Law will obtain over civil law and the constitution itself. The Kurds want to reserve the right to split--a real possibility---and keep the northern oil. It's the Muslim religion. Period. A sure recipe for an Islamic State hostile to the U.S.

So far only Austin Bay, and some Egyptian blogs are out front on this. No word yet from the Iraqi blogs. Late add: Iraq the Model has a piece up. The Constitution without shiria law is toast, meaning the constitution will not be implimented.

Worse, is the announcement by the terrorists that they will kill every member of the Iraqi congress, everyone who registers to vote, everyone who votes, and everybody who collaborates in the process. Democracy is the work of man, shiria law the work of Allah so Democracy must be eliminated. Daily Times, Pakistan:

BAGHDAD: US concessions to Islamists on the role of religion in Iraqi law marked a turn in talks on a constitution, negotiators said on Saturday, as they raced to meet a 48-hour deadline under intense US pressure to clinch a deal.

US diplomats, who have insisted the constitution must enshrine ideals of equal rights and democracy, declined comment.
VOA reports worse, if that's possible
they were nearing agreement on a Shi'ite demand to enshrine Islam as the only source of legislation. Kurdish officials said they still oppose the move.

But negotiators say the United States may be prepared to drop its objections to having Islam as the sole basis of a new Iraqi government.

Saturday's talks also focused on granting self-determination to Iraqi Kurds.
This is just the beginning. I'm posting this on Sunday @5PM before the sure avalanche of commentary. Our guys are dead for this? And Condi Rice backs it? A total sell out if true.

Can't blog Monday at all. Dentist.
