Read this dispatch from France and see how once you are on the government dole nothing on this earth will get you off it. France will no longer even "think" about privatizing their money losing high wage rail system because the overpaid under-worked labor force wants even more, and mommy just can't say "no" to tantrums by baby.

Calling it how I see it, this is how Canada has/is fast becoming. We are DAYS away from the government dissolving from a confidence vote and an election being called, yet before that has even happened our Government is throwing money around like sailors on shore leave, buying the votes required to retain power with tax moola.
Watch and see the Western Provinces specifically Alberta vote Conservative, and the East specifically Ontario vote Liberal. The more things change, the more they stay the same. But Government Largesse showered upon the masses to garner certain votes grows and grows, and the suckers eat it up, because well you know we are entitled to it...
Can you look around and name any States falling for this same mentality.
If Chirac had a pair he would do a Reagan. fire the strikers. then privatize the rails. I suspect most of the French public are getting a bit tired of out of control public servants unions. That and crack down on Islamic rioters. Len Pen is waiting in the wings.
As for Canada it looks like the day is coming that Western Canada might say adiós to Ontario. Canada is in serious need of political reform. There will be some point where the Western provinces will start questioning what is the value of being part of Canada. Concessions to Quebec and subsidizing Ontario what's in it for Alberta or the other western provinces? It would be a divine irony if the anti-American leftist Liberals drive Western Canada into joining the USA.
