Iran only months away from a bomb---headline. Eeeeeekkk.
Well, a simple uranium 235 bomb, like the one we dropped on Hiroshima, is very easy for a country like Iran to have. If they can enrich uranium, meaning sifting through the stuff as it comes from the ground over and over and over again until you have 90% U 235 and 10% dirt, it's easy to set off. All you need is two 100 pound clumps of it, slam the two clumps together, and boom. It took us almost two years of "enriching" uranium in order to get enough to make just ONE of that kind of a bomb. I think they might explode one like this in order to scare the shit out of everybody. But the real bad boy is the plutonium bomb, and to make one of these babies and get it to explode is really difficult. We know they have the technology to make the plutonium but do they have the technology to make a bomb? Two bombs?
I'm not too excited until I know they can make a bad boy.

Making a bomb and delivering it to the intended target are two different things. The Israelis cannot allow Iran to get very much further along. Remember the Iraqi "Generating" plant?
Expect a fairly explicit "statement" on the subject from Tel-Aviv before too long.
Iranians aren't Arabs. Unfortunately like Pakistanis they are both scientifically and industrially capable of building these things. And they are also building rockets to deliver them.
I concur with anonymous unless the US takes the Iranian weapons facilities out, Israel will try. Then the Arab/Muslim "rage" will erupt. Hammas in Gaza and the west bank, Hizzbollah in Lebanon and others in the region will ratchet up the violence. Israel will either back down from UN, EU and US pressure or she will smack down the muzzies. Either way it's bad for the US. The muzzies only understand strength or weakness. The left will exert tremendous pressure to bug out like it's 1971 or force us to really smash the muzzie bastards just to put the fear of God into the bastards. The long term least bad solution to this latest muzzie threat is for us to take out the Iranian nuclear facilities, their air force and air defense system followed by their navy and their oil export terminal on Kharg Island. This a tall order but unlike the communists in the 1960's who were evil but a some level sane, these Islamofascists are both evil and crazy and judging by their words they quite capable of letting loose with the nukes. This and pressuring the Iraqi's to cancel all the oil debts and contracts from the Saddam regime as odious debts ought wonderfully concentrate European, Chinese and Russian minds most wonderfully. Since they portray as us as bullies and gangsters we ought to remind them if we are going to do the time we might as do the crime. Or as Al Capone is supposed to have said " a kind word will take you a long way. A kind word and a gun will take you further."
