BEWARE GENERALS BEARING WISDOM

Gas prices in LA: Drudge is full of shit. Last nite gasoline was $2.93 all over town. I drive through Beverly Hills and there ain't nobody charging $4. High is around $3.30.

Late awakening bloggers warn of a possible military takeover, something I warned about several days ago. Funny how people just don't get it til days too late. This "revolt" against Rummy---if indeed there is one---is one of the most dangerous things to ever happen in our country; it's positively Idi Amin dangerous and if you will recall, the savior of Africa was welcomed by all the usual suspects when he first took power. We all better take a step back before we embrace the statements of the seven generals as something more than the usual military bitching or the utterances of sages. Reynolds has some quotes and links to others. Read them. Beware Generals offering solutions.....

you have lost your mind howard. they are just voicing their opinions. this isn't a freaking banana republic. how can people take you seriously posting garbage like this?

Well, as of this evening (Sat) FOX reported that junior officers are also involved. The officers on active duty have no right to express an opinion about anything involving a challenge to civilian leadership. That is why the Founders made the Civilian authority over any military.

Get that? NO RIGHT at all. Period. The Military has been "speaking out" since the Clinton Administration, and because they weren't court martialel on the spot we now have what we have. The real and deeper problem is we now have an "all professional army" which means that no citizen input can happen at all.

Sorry, I posted before I was ready. The story about the junior officers also opposing Rumsfeld is in the New York Times too. Can't post the link but check it out April 23.

officers are free to speak their minds off the record, however, they face risks by doing so. if they do get get quoted, they are screwed. more than a few officers have been kicked out for having BDS but they voiced their views in public.

i discuss politics with my fellow officers all the time. one of my friends is a rabid kerry supporter. going public is death.

and oh by the way, there are plenty of Army officers on active duty that don't like rummy. based on many opinions i've heard, he has screwed the Army over too often.
