This single sentence from the Judicial opinion denying Congressman Jefferson's attempt to declare the search of his office unconstitutional says it all:

Congressman Jefferson's interpretation of the Speech or Debate privilege would have the effect of converting every congressional office into a taxpayer-subsidized sanctuary for crime.

There are those among us who think Congress has already become a sanctuary for crime, but we are reminded that total hypocrisy is not criminal.
