THEY STILL STINK

Most boring sport? We used to discuss the tie between women's tennis and soccer. Then, with the magic of the two ounce titanium racquet, women suddenly began to play a game worth watching. Anna Kournikova (shown left, after getting umpire to change a linesman's "out" call) and now Maria Sharapova (shown below right cleverly luring lesbian opponent to double fault) supply the eye candy plus tennis that made a lot of us watch.....til now. BT (before titanium), the women served at around 75 mph, had sizzling forehands of 50mph, and all had slice backhands that resulted in the 20mph shot. Now
serves go at 110 and forehands rip at 90mph; the size of the "used to be starving" Eastern Europeans was in the midget area, today they are all over six feet tall. Finally it was beginning to look like soccer was the clear winner of the most boring contest.

Until now.

Wimbledon shows us a return to women's tennis at its roaring boring worst. It's a major news story when a woman can hold her serve; they are completely incapable of coming to the net; and when they get depressed (often) they just give entire sets away. So it's better than it used to be, but they still stink.
