EEK, IT'S A PICK AND ROLL

It was back in 550 BC that Aristotle developed the pick and roll in a sport the Greeks called "Kill the Prick." So the Greeks have a two thousand year head start on this diabolically clever and largely unknown style of basketball offence that is virtually unknown outside of Greece and Argentina. To those few Americans who know it, the pick and roll is largely regarded as unmanly by macho Blacks who dominate basketball in our country where dribble drives and slam dunks are cleverly combined with intimidation (trash talk, insults, and threats) to make our players look great.

Example: black super macho A with ball, dribbling in front of other black super macho B. Super macho A says so everyone can hear: "Your mother sucked my dick last night and swallowed," and as macho B takes a swing macho man A dribbles past B, slam dunks, and then gives opponent the finger while crowd roars.

The gutless pick and roll (without trash talk or threats of great bodily harm) seems deceptively simple. A guy runs up to another guy and blocks him from moving (the pick) and then he quickly rolls off the guy, creating a half a second of separation. If you can throw the ball to the separated guy he will score----unless somebody switches from somebody else---but then the guy who is separated just kicks it out to the open man who can just shoot. It gets much more complicated; the high pick and roll has a line of four guys spread across the floor and the guard with the ball decides who to throw the ball to and so on.

But there is one more reason I think we lost and that reason is racism, racism by the black players. I have at least twenty five years experience with youth athletics, principally in football and some Little League baseball, and this experience has taught me one fact: when a white team plays a black team and the white team wins there will be a riot. Blacks honestly think themselves totally superior to whites on the athletic fields and the only reason they ever lose is that whites cheated. I'll bet our players thought those white Europeans just couldn't possibly win.

So we lost, but the continuing comments that our athletes were better were belied by the facts that the Greeks scored on breakaways, inside shots from their centers and forwards, and jump shots from the perimeter. Inferior athletes doing all that?
