NCAA WILL PUNISH THE INNOCENT

REGGIE BUSH A CROOK.....LOS ANGELES -
New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush and his family appear to have accepted gifts, money and other benefits worth more than $100,000 from two marketing agents while the Heisman Trophy winner was still playing at Southern California, according to a report posted Thursday on Yahoo.com. Why should this interest you? Well, you can bet that the NCAA will take action against the kids who are there now while Bush and his family vacation for the rest of their lives. This is worse than unfair but those innocent kids must be taught a lesson. Just in case you think we are talking chump change here, check this out:

Â? Suits for Bush's stepfather and brother to wear during the Dec. 10, 2005 Heisman ceremony in New York, a makeover for his mother for the event and limousine transportation Â? all paid for by Ornstein.

Â? Two hotel stays by Bush, one in Las Vegas and another in San Diego, during March 2005. In both instances, the rooms were paid for by Michaels.

Â? $13,000 from Michaels' fledgling firm, New Era Sports & Entertainment, to purchase and modify a car for Bush.

Â? $595.20 in round-trip airfare from San Diego to Oakland in November 2005 for Bush's stepfather, LaMar Griffin, his mother, Denise Griffin and younger brother to attend the USC-California game at Berkeley. The charges were put on a credit card belonging to Jamie Fritz, one of Ornstein's employees.
The FBI is involved so that perhaps a crime, as opposed to a rule violation, has been committed.

Change of Topic: in the last two weeks at least two LA area football players have kicked field goals of more than fifty yards, one of them with five yards to spare. This means sixty to sixty five yarders before these kids get out of college, which means that if you get to your opponents 40 yard line you score. And if this stuff is happening here you can bet high school kids all over the country are kicking field goals of the same length. Prediction: there will be a rules change or games will be reduced to field goals.

Howard, I for one have no problem with these kids taking money/gifts or whatever. The NCAA full of hypocrites. They tell all these kids that taking money is bad and how it sullies athletics and meanwhile, these schools rake in the cash from ticket sales, merchandise, TV, etc...Colleges exploit their student athletes and get rich, but if you get hurt, screw you, your are through. No wonder the schools made such a stink about Lebron James. He has the right idea. No matter what happens, he now has his money. If he played in college, he would have gotten a pat on the back and a handshake, if that. To hell with the NCAA and let these students see some of the benefits and money that they make for the scholls, TV etc...Better yet, if you have the talent, forget college and go to the pros.
