WILL THE PROPAGANDA MINISTER, ÜBER FUHRER CLINTON, WIN? STAY TUNED
Leftist Brown Shirts have been loosed on ABC by the Democrats and other Leftists. I'll leave out the obvious hypocrisy of this drooling red eyed rabble who are taking time off from lynching Scooter Libby to voice their "outrage" about a show none of them have seen. Instead I'd like to address the statement emanating from this slavering gang, to wit: you cannot re-write history. Holy Jesus, what a croc of liberaleze. It's an even bigger croc when you consider that it is fulminating from many whose job description is to rewrite history. And news, and stories and police reports and everything else. Hollywood has been fictionalizing history since Edison cranked out his first images way back when. The best (worst) example I can think of is from a great movie called Five Graves to Cairo, (a must rent) that features, among other historical figures, one Erwin Rommel, the "not a Nazi" German general known as the Desert Fox. The part is played to perfection by Erich von Stroheim (that's von etc. at left as that wonderful guy, Rommel) whose acting was never less than super. The role as written by Billy Wilder (a Jew who escaped Nazi Germany) is that of a cultured arrogant polite nice great general. All the shit you young people hear about Rommel is derived from this movie and the Erich von Stroheim performance. In truth, this guy was a buddy of Hitler since 1922. Hitler liked him. He at least pretended to like Hitler. If it were not for this relationship Hitler would never have made him the commander of so many campaigns (all of which this "great" general lost except when he was leading minor forces). He never said a word nor lifted a finger to interfere with the Nazi monster until the war was basically lost. If he wasn't a fucking Nazi, he was their Maitre'De, guiding them to the best places to invade and pillage. Even the super movie "Patton" built his image, particularly the line where Scott yells, "I read your book," implying that it was Rommel who wrote the book on Panzer tactics. Actually the TWO books on combined infantry-tank warfare were written by two guys, Charles de Gaulle and German general Heinz Guderian, the guy who shocked the world in Poland. (The really great Panzer fight song is here from the movie, Battle of the Bulge, THE PRIMO DISTORTION OF HISTORY EVER; link to it and I guarantee you'll get off your ass and invade France). I could go on with Hollywood fictions to include George Washington (like a million fictions), Robert E Lee (another Hollywood "great" general who led his troops to slaughter after slaughter), Lincoln, the James Gang and so on and so forth. Hollywood exists on fictionalized history, it is who they are. Whatever, either ABC will pull it, an event that may lose the Democrats the election, or they will sanitize it so that nobody in the Clinton sewer gets their feelings hurt. Either way I think the political damage to the Democrats will be significant, not because of the TV show, but because of their hysterical efforts to supress it.

All you guys who "study" history continually pick the losing general and annoint him "genius." Grant was the best general in the Civil War because he won; Sitting Bull was the best general at Little Big Horn for the same reason, and so on. As for Rommel, he lost in Africa, a generally recognized as mediocre Montgomery beat his ass because Rommel had no business conducting a campaign that needed gasoline and he ran out. He was created by the Allies and built up to insane heights after WWII by the same Allies. BTW, if you will do a body count you will see that Lee continually took higher than necessary casualties. He was great only to you guys who didn't die under him and have the leisure time to "study."
While I am not a "student" of history or WWII, because my grandfather served in WWII and was stationed in Germany after the war I know a few things that most people don't find out unless they do deep research. I'll confine my knowledge to Rommel. He was a nobody in the Army until Hitler appointed him to keep his followers from the Nurenberg rally to a few cars. He did this by blocking the road with tanks. Hitler promptly loved him and he was at Hitler's side as commendant of a military escort when the Germans grabbed the Sudetenland and Prague. He got closer to Hitler when he became a military escort and cemented his relationship by being in charge of Hitler's guard on Hitler;s train. It was during this little nothing job that he and Hitler sat around discussing tactics. He did jack in Poland other than stand around with Hitler. They became such buds that the non-experienced Rommel asked for a Panzer Division and got it. He read the books by Hart, Fuller, and especially De Gaulle. He "won" his first campaign in France and then made a propaganda film about himself using Moroccans to die for the cameras. Hitler then sent him to only his SECOND command in Africa where, as the above guy commented, he stretched his supply lines and blew the entire campaign, which began when Rommel violated clear orders NOT to pursue the Brits from Tripoli, another reason this "great" general lost. It was after the violation of the orders and Rommel had literally marched to Cairo that the Allies, in order to save face over this loss, started a propaganda campaign to make Rommel the "Desert Fox." His picture was on magazine covers and newspapers because the Brits needed to present him as a superhuman force that couldn't be beaten. The Allied propaganda got even more pro-Rommel when we kicked his ass at El Alamein; this was done to convince the public that we had just whipped Superman. It was our own propaganda that inflated this totally inexperienced officer to the God he has now become. Anyway, Rommel was just a general who WE built up so we could look better. This continued after the war when my grandfather was in Germany.c
