Observations while shopping....Pipes has a very good essay up today which discusses the reasons the West could lose to the wild violence posed by Islam. He reaches the conclusion that pacifism, self-hatred, and complacency are what will do us in. I disagree. I feel that it's cowardice that will do us in, and it was this cowardice that best explains the Viet Nam college protesters, that and pure selfishness.
