DEMS HAVE ALREADY CUT OFF FUNDS
While the usual Republican sleep walkers stumble through their phony kabuki dance about nothing, the Democrats have cut off all funding for training Iraqi troops. Why no screams from the GOP? Because the GOP is without a map or a goal, drifting aimlessly from meeting to meeting without a clue, a purpose, or an ounce of courage. The hypocrisy and confusion is aptly described by Althouse this AM.
Excepting John McCain, the one guy who is speaking out at every opportunity without any of the noodle legged Republicans joining him.
Weekly Standard has all the goods that none of the press seems interested in honestly reporting. Why should they report? Every dead GI is just one more feather in their cap.
The decrease in the training of the Iraqi Security Forces that Youssef is detecting is the first effect of delaying the FY07 supplemental budget. The money to train the Iraqi units has dried up.Or at least they seem to fail to report it, but they hint at it in articles spread far and wide, creating essays which are blatantly false. The design of their putrid output is to weaken our troops and lose the war. Read the piece and start your day off in a really bad mood. The Democrats preen and strut over the possibility of winning the next election because they engineered the loss of the war.
BUT
The winner may well be John McCain, the only Republican not snoring or cowering. McCain actually champions the war and the war effort. Just when it looked like he was dead in the water, the near corpse rises like the legendary Phoenix, (left) the mythical bird that never dies; the bird from olden lore
The phoenix flies far ahead to the front, always scanning the landscape and distant space. It represents our capacity for vision, for collecting sensory information about our environment and the events unfolding within it. The phoenix, with its great beauty, creates intense excitement and deathless inspiration.Phoenix, it could be an apt metaphor for the guy from Arizona.
A fun site source for Phoenix pic.
