And the Daytona Winner is: Another Corporation

Sports shocker???

Daytona 500 trounces NBA in viewership. The popularity of NSCAR is not understood by our elites. I mean all they do is drive around a circle to see who crashes best. What's the big deal? Well the "big deal" may be slowing down at bit. The attraction has always been the drivers and the head to head competition between two guys squeezing up to the line of death in order to win. But now it's totally corporate and who gives a fat fuck? And yesterday's finish was a farce---the winning car was literally pushed from behind by a car owned by the same corporation. NASCAR is in a "too much money to compete" trap exactly like all other sports except for the NFL.

I can see why so many think NASCAR is boring. Unfortunately, many base their opinion on the Daytona and Talladega races. The better races are the 1.5 mile triovals such as Atlanta, Texas, Charlotte and Las Vegas. But the best race last year was 1/2 mile Bristol night race.

As for the big crashes, there were none yesterday. The new wing on the rear of the Cup cars seems to straighten the car back into line. There were at least three incidents that would have taken out half the year before.

not sure you are right. No one expected that win. No one expected Dodge one Toyota to compete that well.
