Chris Matthews Before he joined the radical Left

There was a time, I think it was just before the last dinosaur died, when Chris Matthews had the best show on TV. Believe it or not, the current raving Lefty and apologist for everything on the Left had a balanced show. He wasn't Left, he wasn't Right, he just went after every phony in the land, both Republicans and Democrats. He recognized that the difference between conservatives and liberals is that Liberals feel unbearable guilt because they somehow got actual money for their labors and therefore must serve an eternity in purgatory for their sin of success AND make sure that everyone else feels the pain of their penance and the agony of their guilt; While Conservatives feel they deserve everything they have including the spoils of stock swindles, market manipulations, tax evasion schemes, and whatever else they have "appropriated." In other words Matthews recognized that there was phoniness rampant in both positions and parties and it was his duty to lay the bastards low; he was smart, educated, and more important, he had been around; serving with Tip O'niel for years allowed him to become aware of all things Congressional and political hypocrisy, he was in the Peace Corps which gave him an awareness of things both corrupt and sort of honest about the UN and Third World schemes, and he knew how to communicate.

Then...he suddenly went Left. Not only Left but biased and sometimes bigoted Left and I stopped watching him. He became a caricature of a newsman. I can only conclude that he went Left to get ratings composed of all the currently fashionable Hollywood, New York Times, and the corrupted academia elites. So he has horrible ratings and a show almost nobody watches.

All this is prologue to his blog which is the Old Matthews to a tee. The son of a bitch is balanced as can be and he lays it out there. This blog post appropriately titled: Obama and Wright, A Darker Shade of Pale is far more than an interesting take on the "paleness" (lack of "blackness") of both Obama and Rev. Wright, a condition that is a circumstance of birth, but his piece is at least partially correct in explaining the bigotry of both of them. His co-blogger, one Liam Corcaigh, is as good as it gets too; read this very funny evisceration of Her Sliminess to get a feel (God, but she's a piece of shit). The former First Lady Clinton is referred to as "First Draft Dodger," which will give you a feel.

In short, Matthews has a blog that you might find well worth reading once a week.
