I loaned my PC to one of my kids and have been more or less off line for a while, but from watching TV I've learned that a few things apart from the campaign are happening.
1. Fake or Manufactured News: nobody manufactures more nothing news than all the ESPN stations. Keep in mind that they hype sports like MSNBC hypes Obama. They are currently conducting another campaign to get us to accept soccer as a major sport---which they will televise and then make billions. This hype move in lock step with women's hoops---AKA Slow Dwarf Basketball---women's softball, competitive fishing (fucking fishing? Fishing?), college la cross, steroids in baseball, and the SCANDAL around the Patriots taping signals---who can't stand on the sidelines and then steal them?---and the story of stories: who is Dallas qb Romo screwing?
2. The campaign: there is nothing happening that can't be told in thirty seconds, tops. These TV assholes want a close race so they can have an audience for the election night returns which can be told in thirty seconds too. Hillary will win Kentucky big and a surprise may be brewing in crazy Oregon, a state that is insulated from all realities other than the condition of the cocaine and marijuana crops.
3. NBA playoffs are terrific and many games other than the Western Conference games are competitive and entertaining til the end. ABC and ESPN are praying for a Boston-Lakers showdown in the belief that the ratings challenged NBA will finally get good ones and justify the sky high prices that advertisers are asked to pay for spots.
