A devastatingly accurate picture of conservatism today is HERE as friends detonate an A Bomb of criticism......My take is that we have somehow allowed complete frauds to label themselves conservative so they could make money and get elected to something. Much like the phony preachers who cavort about the country raising millions for themselves and pretending GOD is behind them. I've pointed out many times on this blog that the entire conservative movement is now actually "ruled" by charlatans both within the RNC and outside of it. New game by the creators of "Find Waldo" called Find a Conservative" is in the works for July 4th.

Hmmmm.
I agree and disagree.
I agree that conservatism is badly damaged because we haven't been good caretakers. I disagree because I don't think it's permanent.
1. A lot of conservative pundits are literally for sale. They're willing to do anything in order to maintain access to high level politicians. Look at Rush Limbaugh. In 2000 he was telling his listeners that Bush was "much more conservative than you think", which is utter bullshit.
We're not going to be able to bring conservatism back until we're able to think and act independently of pundits who have their personal best interests ahead of everything else.
2. A major blow to conservatism has been the party-line support we've given. Look at Pat Toomey and Arlen Specter. A lot of conservatives knuckled down and voted for Specter when they should've voted for Toomey.
The idea had always been that increased Republican power would result in increased conservative power. This has been proven to be untrue.
