Batman: There are three types of people who live in LA. Those who are in show business, those who want to be in the business, and those who used to be in the business and are looking for an agent. In other words we know what's good and what isn't. What isn't with this movie is that it isn't meant to be seen on a regular monster screen. It has to be seen in IMAX, and as most of you know, IMAX is one of the worst run companies on the planet, a classic example that the aphorism that says "build a better mouse trap and the world will beat a path to your door" is bullshit all the way. You gotta sell the better mousetrap. Sell.
So one would think that the local IMAX movie joints would run ads all over the place. One would be wrong. You can play hell finding a real IMAX movie theater showing real IMAX movies. You can find three or four that advertise "the IMAX Experience." "The Experience" turns out to be a regular fucking movie shown on an IMAX screen, which means you have to check like a maniac to see if a movie is really IMAX, and finding a movie house that doesn't advertise is a challenge. So Batman is 25% real geniuine IMAX; meaning that it has been shot with real IMAX cameras, and after checking I found that the real IMAX Batman is playing at my local IMAX. So all of us show biz types know that IMAX is the way to go IF you can find a movie house that is showing one and it just so happens that my almost local IMAX is within a few miles of me but it is sold out for every show til the middle of next week, which means that I ain't seen it yet but my friends all say it's between masterpiece and great.

It shows another way Hollywood is screwing itself into the toilet; ALL films should be shot in 70mm. Screw digital, that shit won't be ready for another twenty years. 70mm is like seeing a movie from God.
Never heard an audience react like they do with the opening shot of Batman.
