Pelosi: she represents only the wealthy, THE people who can easily afford $10 per gallon gasoline. Her base is Marin County. It is the fifth richest in the U.S. and the wealthiest in California. A population that would probably welcome the near empty highways that would result in $10 per gallon gasoline since they could then drive their luxury sports cars at top speeds. She, and other latte' liberals around the country, have surplus money that must be spent someplace and gasoline would be a someplace for them.
Those of us with more moderate means will once again be told we have to pay for the whims of the wealthy liberal left that controls the Democratic Party. There is almost no way they will give up the pure vistas and disease wracked caribou that may result in a well or two being drilled in an Alaska they've never been to.
We are fucked. Do not be surprised when crude oil goes to $300 per barrel. By that time we won't have a country to care about.

Oil seems to heading south not north at the moment. All it took was Bush mentioning the possibility of getting serious about exploring for oil at home.
Just imagine if we really get serious about drilling for oil at home. As for the 'elites' as you put it. If your prediction comes true, those cars better be bullet proof. They will be clear and easy targets for the redneck masses and their rifles. And at ten bucks a gallon there won't be to many cops on the highways to guard the precious elites either.
Couldn't agree with you more about Pelosi and the attitudes of liberals in Marin County, but the district she represents (CA 8th District) is entirely inside San Francisco County.
