Baseball playoffs: Been around sports most of my life, did some teaching and coaching along the way and I was of the firm opinion that, unlike football and basketball, one great offensive player meant diddly squat in baseball....until Manny Ramirez came over to a punchless and listless Dodger team. The Dodgers were flirting with first place in the weakest division in baseball with the first place team just a game over .500 until Ramirez showed up. Like magic, the Dodgers were suddenly loose, Ramirez became a literal hitting machine and all the other players fed off of him. They are going to kill the Cubs (they are doing so now) and may be favored to win the Series. One guy made the difference.
