Six Billion Dollars per Week

Back in July, barely three months ago, local gasoline price was $4.39 per gallon. This AM a lot of stations are posting $3.19. This $1.20 difference is going directly into our pockets, in my case a fill up has gone from $65 to $42; that's $23 per visit times twice per week. $46 extra that goes directly to stores. Multiply that out to God only Knows how many million cars on the road but the estimate is 250 million, and that doesn't count the millions of trucks and light trucks. 250 million times $23 comes to........Holy Fuck, almost $6bln dollars. Per Week. A sum larger than any one time "rebate" being talked about by government, and this money arrives every week. That's a lot of movies and clothing necessities.

Friday 1600: two gas stations are selling gas for $2.99. The news says that by Monday that will be the low price all over town.
