Govern from the center?? Labor unions will absolutely demand the union check off. Failure to pass will cause near riots. Teachers will demand repeal of the "No Child Left Behind" act, or else. Move On Dot Orgs will demand exit from both Iraq and Afghanistan, a huge tax increase on "the rich" which includes higher cap gains, higher corporate income taxes, and higher personal income taxes; huge deficit spending on "needed" public works will be the order of the day; a continuing bailout of GM and the rapacious UAW; women will demand abortion on demand (including partial birth), and Blacks will want increases in every entitlement across the board.

Now how do you expect Obama to govern from the "center" when he only has support from groups that demand leftist solutions?
