Porkulus is Illusion

The main thing wrong with the current Welfare Stimulus Package is that it is attempting to restore everything that has gone wrong. Are we kidding ourselves? Do we restore a corpse? A torpedoed battleship? A disease affected food crop? Do you seriously believe in restoring the banks, brokerage firms, bond rating services and everything else? Restoring to what and for what? The core of the problem is tough to face. Play this game with yourself or between you and your friends; name the crimes you can commit if you couldn't lie. How about non-crimes such as cheating on your spouse, smoking a joint on the sly, or disobeying any "rule" on the job? What you have discovered is that virtually no crime is possible without lying. The most honest guy in the room is the robber who sticks a gun in your face and demands money; there is no artifice there and statistically the robber with his gun is nearly always caught and sent up the river for a hell of a long time, just like a horrible pot smoker.

Lying is at the center of everything that has gone "wrong." Things "went wrong" because the existing mechanisms either stank, were corrupted, or actually useless. Those failed mechanisms are not worth the efforts to maintain them nor are the jobs held by the over compensated bastards who actually got us into this. The core problem is our almost universal dishonesty in all our affairs. Any of you who have ever been in sales of any kind have misrepresented what you are selling by outright lying, not mentioning deficiencies that render the product nearly useless in many cases, or selling something that was of no use to a chosen consumer. In short, we have been preying upon one another economically for at least a century and there is nobody who hasn't been a part of it. So what are we getting now? A deceitful piece of legislation that is a lie at its core and a lie in its manifestation, and we approve many parts of it....because the corruption of the legislation is what we are used to and expect. In other words the Bill is whatever you think it is, or are led to believe it is, and it still ignores the fact that the banks are bankrupt, corporations are bankrupt, and far too many of both our businesses and ourselves are actually insolvent.

Can there be a "No Lying" bill? The churches used to demand it of us but we done killed God so there is nothing to be afraid of "later." When we believed in God we knew lying was wrong, cheating on our spouses was bad, stealing and murder were major no nos, worshiping things like money was a ticket to hell, and the rest were shit; Honor my Parents? What for, they're dead. And no coveting. WTF does coveting even mean?" Do what feels good and you'll be OK," has become our watch word and having a ton of money in New York feels better than a blow job in Hawaii.

So don't look for this thing to end soon. We have a corrupt political class that has enacted a corrupt piece of legislation for a corrupted electorate. You think this thing is going to end well?
