Stimulus in California will go straight into the public employees union and then to the $40bln + state deficit. Almost none of it will go to the supposed targets of the "stimulus." On top of that the state has just raised taxes to an almost intolerable level on certain items, starting with a doubling of the vehicle license tax. New car sales are dumping even further. There will be a sales tax increase of one cent per dollar, (guaranteed to boost retail sales) an income tax increase - cleverly disguised as a tax return surcharge -- on top of a doubling of the vehicle licensing fee. And buried in this is a tax upon tax refunds. The population of California is dropping, and this from a state that nobody in their right mind would have left thirty years ago.
