The same tired old Republican liars that we kicked out in '08 are the ones sticking their cracked up beaks to tell us they're running in '10.  Another way of saying that they're ready and able to lie and steal once again.  All we have to do is stupid up and vote for them.  The Republican Party has no leadership at all right now and to suddenly anoint a "Scott Come Lately" just because he won one election in a Blue State as our leader just goes to show how thin things are within the party.  Scott is almost certainly going lose his seat right back to a Blue State hack next time.  Look around.  The same tired old (and I mean old) white assholes that fucked both us and the country the last time they had power are still slobbering their banalities  on TV.  Fuck me once shame on you, fuck me twice....etc.

Just how hard it was to figure out what Wall Street was doing to the markets prior to the current fiasco is explained in great detail by Michael Lewis over at Portfolio Magazine. He really knows his shit and it took him two years of digging to finally figure it out. The fact that every one of us who was in the "investment" (swindle) field at all was complicit in this true crime of the century, everyone from CNBC to the secretary at Merrill Lynch. There was no way anyone from outside the box could possibly have known the complexity and the true state of the market. Not the SEC? No, they should have known years ago but they did zippo. This is clearly the end of capitalism because nobody in their right mind will ever trust Wall Street again. Until the next time. You cannot know just how dumb these Ivy MBAs really are. the show trials for violating anything that hurts people's feelings go ahead unabated. Ask if democracy can topple here? You are dam right it can and it will be like Canada, caused by liberals. Iowa Hawk has the best piece about the current outrage, outrage here but silence in the Canadian "free press." This guy could go to prison for hurting the feelings of Muslims. Like our college campuses where hurt feelings can shut down all free speech.

Keep in mind that the LA Times writer on the piece that Patterico is focused upon is named "Lopez" and that his first loyalty is to Mexico City not Washington D.C. I guess we also must assume that the loyalties of the Los Angeles Times, the White House, the a majority in Congress, the media, and the elites are Mexican and not American.

IT'S LIFE IN THE CAR WASH OR CRIME

A note re; the continuing comments from the pro illegals crowd claiming that "historically" we have welcomed all immigrant groups.

OK, but historically means the last wave which stopped somewhere around 1910 or so. At that time the average education of Americans was 7th grade and only ten percent of our population graduated from high school. A high school diploma was very high, and a college education was rare. We did not need a bunch of MBAs back then, we needed strong backs capable of driving the industrial revolution. The education "gap" in the early 1900s between immigrant and American born was only six or seven grades of school. In fact the Education and Child Labor Laws were not enacted anywhere in this country til 1910, and even that law allowed for a ton of kids to escape the school requirement. Those Education laws were mainly state laws and due to the places that lacked any school at all, there were all kinds of exemptions. The scarcity of schools in rural areas meant that the early education laws only applied to the big cities.

Today the gap between illiterate and the technological education needed for the "Information Age" is huge; at least fourteen years of school are a necessity with sixteen and up preferred. An illiterate twenty year old does not look forward to fourteen years of school to become qualified, so it's either life in the car wash, welfare programs, or crime. We are awash with people qualified to go on the dole and nothing else. And the really bad news is that they ain't going back to Mexico any time soon, mainly because they can't even read the maps.

In related stories, Dems propose legislation to force adults with kitchens in their homes or apartments to register all knives with sharp points, non serrated edges, and more than one inch in length. Proposal is considered far too weak by the hard Left who demand that scabbards be banned outright, kitchen drawers containing these dangerous weapons be locked at all times, and knife education classes in high schools be curtailed. Big question: What would Spiderman do? More......
