These hearings are iron clad proof that the Republicans are a joke. How can the party that controls the White House and both houses of congress allow this partisan democratic broadside to happen? Only if you have a clueless Republican Party from top to bottom. They were out of congressional power for sixty years for a good reason: they have no leadership qualities, no principals, and no knowledge whatsover of government. They don't belong in power, they belong back home in the minority throwing bombs at the Democrats. The mere act of allowing partisan hacks like Ben-Veniste and Gorelick on the committee without having Republican dobermans on the committee as well proves their mass incompetence.
