COULD THIS ELECTION HAVE HAPPENED UNDER KENNEDY, BOXER, OR KERRY?

72% turn out in Iraq, larger than any American election in history. Sad Sad day for the Democrats and our Left. TV has done a very good job of coverage and I don't think there are any blogs out there doing as good a job. However---But---not a single local LA station has carried a word, so that unless you have cable you get bubkis---nada for you English speakers out there---which might be a reason for the ignorance of our electorate. Thirty six people killed. Would either you or I risk death to vote? And our armed forces deserve gratitude from all of us. But....remember the "insurgents" are actually Mafia style gangsters and they may decide to assassinate anyone with a "blue forefinger", the sign that a person voted. The "Left" coverage via the LA Times headlines at 6:30AM PST:
Little Sacred to Najaf Bosses, Many Say

The holy city's political and security heads are known for allegations of erratic behavior and abuses. They don't get along very well, either.
Other headlines: U.S. General Gets Earful From Men in Sunni City Who May Forgo Polls; Little Sacred to Najaf Bosses, Many Say; Who's Dying in Our War?; A Taste of Democracy, a Hunger for Security. Not a single positive story in the main daily paper in the second largest city in the U.S. For some positive news go HERE for the view of a blogger in Baghdad. FOX is doing a first rate job and has all the news.

NOON ADD:
Driving around and tuned into the local news radio stations. Only story reported was the violence in Iraq.

NYTimes tells most of the truth, at least on line after the election. LA Times after the election: Voting Ends in Iraq; Attacks Kill 36 This at noon PST.
