The New York Times will charge a hefty internet fee to read their editorial section. This action is not designed to make money. The real purpose is to seal itself off from broad blogger scrutiny and thus be a "lone voice of sanity" without challenge. Everyone who dares quote anything from the paper will run afoul of copyright, giving the fish wrap the right to sue. The LA Times had to abandon its charge for their Calendar Section because nobody bothered to read their secret pages and thus advertisers balked. Lets hope for the worst on 43rd Street. I ask you, would you pay one dime to read Maureen Dowd?
