GRANOLA HEADS AND TERRORISM

Michelle links to a story out of Oregon that ridicules the possibility that terrorist Haroon Aswat could have been building a terrorist training camp in the town of Bly. I know a lot about Oregon and their attitudes. They are so insulated from the rest of the U.S. that they won't even buy things from outside of Oregon. I used to sell farm impliments and supplies over the phone and they would rather pay retail to their local store than save hundreds and hundreds of dollars, not to mention the waste of hours hauling the stuff back to their farms and businesses, or waiting a month for the local yokel to get whatever it is they want. They are arrogantly insulated. A person interviewed says about the terrorist,

"Ridiculous," Marilyn Thomas, who runs the Pit Stop convenience store in Bly, a tiny ranching community in the high desert of south-central Oregon, said Monday in a telephone interview. "I'm from Chicago, where I didn't even know my neighbors. Here they know what you're going to do before you do it. And if you don't do it, they get mad."
I'm from a town so small that the city limit signs were back to back; no traffic light, no post office, and one cop. Small towns are not places where people are open. On the contrary, the people let you know only what they want to let you know and they mistrust and actively dislike outsiders. Look at all the meth labs and pot farms; look at the Ted Kucinskis, abortion clinc bombers like Eric Rudolph, and all the child kidnappers hiding in them. Small towns are exactly where a training facility like this can exist. The rest of the country calls people in Oregon "Granola Heads," meaning the farthest out Lefties you can imagine; isolated spotted owl licking environuts who are contemptuous of everyone else. Many cities and towns in Oregon have openly refused to enforce the Patriot Act. Many more are openly "sanctuary cities." Portland has become the crime capital of the Northwest, the sanctuary where all the LA gangsters go when things get too hot for them down here in La La Land. They are now moving into Granola Head Central" Eugene, home of U of O that has now become slightly uncomfortable.

Oregon deserves the worst. Our problem with Oregon is that they think that it's perfectly alright to export their terrorist product to the rest of us.

A majority of our population has been non-Oregon-born since 1987. Our politics have not been helped by the massive invasion of sanctimonious asshole Californicatians (no insult intended to you, Howard).
It rains up here, a lot. Spread the word. Please.
