shinseki got fired because he was a clinton appointed dildo. he gave us the "all wheeled Army" and the black berets to improve morale. he may have been right about the troop strenght issue but a broken clock is right twice a day.

Furthermore, the LAV III/Strykers are prving to be very useful armored vehicles in Iraq.
What you armchair Rommels and Pattons do not comprehend is that tracked vehicles CANNOT sustain more than 25-30 mph. M1's, M2-M3's, and M113's cannot keep up with the flow of wheeled traffic on the highway. Strykers can.
