Thanx Firefox: in addition to my other problems, now solved, I find that my traffic has dropped from 5,000+ per day to zero IN A SINGLE DAY:

Today 0
This Week 8,855 down from over 40,000

What I found out is that Firefox MAY disable the site counter. It did with me. Late add just two hours later:

Average Per Day 1,751

Last Hour 508
Today 1,236
This Week 12,259

What a relief.
