Blogger sleaze updates: Glenn Reynolds is using links to pad his pocket.....again. He links to his own book ON ETHICS without so much as a mention that he is linking to money. It's beginning to look like almost all conservatives are pathologically corrupt, I say pathologocally corrupt because they don't even know they are corrupt, it's just the way it is. Keep in mind that every link to Pajamas Media puts money in their pockets as well, but they don't tell you. Reynolds also links to a truly useless site that has a "babe of the day" who I wouldn't piss on if she was on fire.
Closet Jews as bloggers continues with Simon blowing old news and fears. I exclude LGF from this blast because he is totally up front about his POV and restricts his blog to things Israel and Jewish. My dad's half of my family is all Jewish, I have been immersed in Jewishness from time to time since birth, and I am totally on the side of Israel in the Middle East. However, only bloggers like Simon and Johnson seem to turn away from the obvious Jewish assault on the Middle East in 1947 when they were "awarded" land there by the UN; the Arabs and Palestinians have one hell of a point. How would we like it if Jews were awarded Alabama, and they just moved in with guns and tanks? What's that you say? The UN would dare do it? Because we are too strong? Right.
Abramoff is innocent? You must be kidding. Well....not exactly. Many are pointing out that his contributions to Congressional people are not illegal (more links here). Only illegal if the legislators were paid to vote a certain way on a certain bill something, that even if true, can never be proven. He'll get his for fraud against the tribes and stuff, but my bet is that not one politician will swing.
A 2006 prediction: the Julie Myers appointment to ICE is going to bite the GOP in the ass come November. She will be the last straw because her appointment absolutely proves that Bush is as corrupt as the rest of his party. Be sure you have a permanent link to Schussel who has been all over this since Christ left Chicago. She really lets loose today.
Web Shopping Alert: be sure you check the customer service lines of the company you are buying from. I kept my distance from two sites in which customer service NEVER answered their phones, nor did they reply to my emails.

I'd be inclined to cut Reynolds some slack on the book link. He's mentioned it (more explicitly, with disclaimers) a number of times before-- often enough that, as a regular reader, I could tell right away that he was linking to it, based on the surrounding copy.
And if you can't pimp your own book, why have a blog? ;-)
Howard, I agree with Old Grouch, plugging one's own book is more or less licit.
As far as the crummy pin-up girl: it seems to to me that InstaPundit.com is emphasizing quantitity over quality. He links to sites that I suspect Porf. Reynolds has never read entirely.
Want a lot of quantity, new material once a day, or even more often? Ok, here's the Carnival of Education, a dimwit site cheeleading for teacher's unions and agianst standardized testing. Likewise for the Carnival of the Capitalists.
Glenn Reynolds also has something in common with Roger Simon and Andrew Sullivan: he's only provisionally conservative and pro-military. Have you noticed his recent contretemps re gay US military interpreters? How about Reynolds' Instapundit post sneering at people who prefer "Merry Chrismas" shortly before this past Xmas?
Don't worry about Instapundit. He has peaked.
