I have corrected the link to Commentary which had appeared in my post below. If you haven't read the Commentary article, DO IT. You will learn exactly how we plan to subdue the insurgency. Or not. Keep in mind that either the slugs at FOXNews Channel haven't read it or are too lazy to care. It doesn't make any different if the rest of the media reads it or not, they will continue to lie.
BTW I caught ten seconds of CNN while surfing around the game on Sunday and I heard a "news" commenter accentuate the word "says" in two sentences containing the phrase, "The Pentagon says," thus transforming the statement so as to assure one and all that the Pentagon was lying and CNN was there to catch it. Even if we start to turn the corner in Iraq the entire media will deny it.
A Market Observation regarding MSM fish wraps: there is a growing consensus in financial markets that newspapers as we know them now will be gone within five years because advertisers find them an increasingly ineffective way to reach their customers. The "experts" say that it makes no difference if they change their political bias, because the fact is that nobody really gets their news from print media anymore. The blasts from the blogs about the bird cage lining lies and misstatements just hasten the inevitable by about six months. Which means that the Tribune Companies are going to find it harder and harder to dump the Los Angeles Times and some other doggie doo doo containers. Patterico coveres the LA Times pseudo guest editor fiasco, a fiasco that exposes the biases of LAT employees that will not allow any disagreement between editorial opinions and the "news" novellas created by their writers. The once very good Southwest U.S. newspaper has been assassinated. AND THAT AIN'T A GOOD THING, because as bad as the LA Times has become, it is the ONLY news outlet in town for Los Angeles News. I don't know what will take its place.
