Southern California: drier than the Sahara Desert
If you saw the fire in the Hollywood Hills yesterday, try this: Average rainfall in the Sahara Desert, recognized as the harshest dry climate in the world, is 3 inches. A second, and much larger one, is burning in Hesperia, a semi desert town south of Pasadena.
