It's not Killing. It's love.
Pat Dollard is a must read by the weekend. I'd only add to his perceptive post and the commentary by Emerson that people using terrorism never see themselves as anything but a positive person involved in an act of love. You "terrorize" your foes because you love your country; you die for your country, you die for your parents, wife, children; you do all this so that they can have a better life. It is this "love killing" stuff that makes terrorists almost impossible to beat down because there is no end to their love. The Palestinians were fighting the Jews in the Arab area as far back as before WWI, and they will never ever stop because they are doing it for love. The perversity of the current Terror is that there is no end to the land that they can claim is theirs so there is no end to their "love" of it. Don't forget love when you look at terrorism.
