A word about Prince Harry and Iraq service. There is no way any army can allow the son or daughter of a leader to be put in harm's way on a battlefield. Gore was never allowed past the back row in Vietnam because his father was a sitting Senator at the time, not because of cowardice or "connections." The kidnapping and hostage taking make the risk intolerable. We did not allow FDR's sons to go near battle lines during WWII. The Brit leadership is correct in saying that his presence would guarantee that every soldier and outpost would instantly become a target because of the prize. Think about it.

The Leona Helmsley rule? Only little people die in wars? Only other peoples' sons?

All My Sons is a great read.
