Morals, stem cell research, and shit like that: Krauthammer has a terrific piece in the WaPo about the new research into stem cells that has just been completed. This breakthrough allows state of the art stem cell research called "de-differentiation" of adult cells, that bypasses "embyonic" research and is far better and faster anyway. This means that using cells in their "embryonic" state, which is a future human being, is not only not necessary but is actually the "slow" and less efficient way to do it. Read it. He goes into the "moral stance" taken by Bush in this regard and makes a great case.

Then consider something that he left out, something that is a disease among our elites. The single biggest reason for their stand against those that opposed embryonic stem cell research is hate for all morals, especially those that might stand in the way of "what I want right now." Make no mistake, the phalanx of feminists, liberals, atheists, and academics, all despise both moral people and morals themselves (other than Muslim morals). "I'll do my thing and you do yours...." the bromide of the 60s assholes that enable them to do whatever it is they want to at the time, is paramount. They hate all religion because "God ain't telling me what to do." This is always followed by the official dodge of responsibility and accountability, "don't judge me." This moral Ghost Dance, which they always do in public with the loudest voice possible so as to drown out the voice of a God they claim does not exist, is performed daily to ward off the forces of an inconvenient morality they will always claim is imposed upon the citizenry by the ever dangerous THEM. The "them" they talk about are almost always Republicans, Bible Thumpers, Catholics (the current whipping boy), Rush Limbaugh (and other talk radio guys), and the much hated Christians. In short, anyone who dares say things like, "don't do it now, think about it," or the latest horror, "What would Jesus do?" are enemies of the state. So while Krauthammer's piece is correct, he is pissing into the wind. The bottom line is always that the Left electorate hates moral stands about anything.

How does one invest in the new stem cell harvesting method? I figure that every non God fearing old hippie faced with the reality of his own death will be willing to dump every last cent of his pension into this to buy another year or two. Show me the money. Please.
